And it turns out he's got a wife too
Things never go smoothly for Todd do they really?
What on earth is he going to do?

Julie's still suffering with cancer it seems,
and Kev is still ill with it - how sad
Now Debbie's very likely got dementia
Which is really very bad.

New guy Mick and his missus are loathsome
I hope they leave really soon
I want to just grab them and drop kick them hard
So they end up on the dark side of the moon

DeeDee has had Joels baby, but doesn't want her
And her brother's stepped up to be her dad
But I think she's wavering and getting a bit attached
If she gives her baby up she may be sad.

DeeDee's about to take action for the poor treatment she had
When she was in labour and about to give birth
I hope she gets justice and gets treated right
And gets compensated for what she is worth

Dorin is back, he's incredibly cute
And I have to say DeeDee's baby is too (edit by request)
I hope they don't turn into little shits
Like the children in Corrie tend to do!

Daisy and Jenny have proper fallen out
Over the pub and money and debts
I wonder who'll end up owning it and running it
I think we should take some bets!

She would need a passport and lots of legal stuff to go to America. So deedees brother would be arrested at the airport.

Julie probably had lots of drugs to take with perfect timing, tea place was just far enough away. Where was Craig to supervise, and who were the paramedics?

I wonder if Julie has been stockpiling her meds and that's why she suddenly seemed in frequent pain and deteriorated quickly.
She was a picture of health a couple of weeks ago.
I also like Christina and can see her running the Rovers. Maybe she can employ Danielle as I liked her too.
Both would be good additions to the permanent cast unlike some relatively new characters we've have to tolerate recently (can name several).

Characters in soaps tend to die suddenly and conveniently, Julie was never going to linger, and I am willing to bet we won't see late stage dementia portrayed either. That is why I loathe 'raising awareness' storylines, because they never resemble what actually happens. We never saw any support services for Julie.

As for Laila... give me strength.

Agree, I expect Debbie will just die in her sleep too totally unrelated to real dementia or cancer.

They did years ago. Alma, Amanda Barrie's character , had quite a long drawn out illness. It was quite graphic at times I think. Same with Hayley with her convincing Roy to help her end her life. Writers think nowadays viewers don’t have the concentration to follow a story for long, except where it involves crime, beating people up etc.

Alma's illness was a bit rushed but at least she died in bed. Even Mike Baldwin's death was realistic by current standards. He died dramatically of a heart attack, but his dementia storyline was done very well.

I think the main problem nowadays is the lack of investment in the characters. They just become plot devices. They don't care about Julie any more than they care about Jenny, they are like chess pieces to move around to suit the plot. Which wouldn't matter SO much if the plots were not so bloody terrible!

Julie 😭What an amazing character she was. Why the hell did they bring her back to kill her off? I just don't get it. She was a proper ray of sunshine. Why not kill off the miserable Jenny or Swain. 😠Typical corrie. Always kill off the best characters and leave us with the crap annoying ones!

And Ken Doll is back and its so bloody obvious that Billy is going to be there for him and they will end up copping off and leave Todd heartbroken 😭

Very true. The struggle to access adult social care, carers, specialist equipment....really needs to be highlighted if these story lines are for public awareness.

It would need more actors. Paul had a care worker for about 2 episodes. Then he was removed for some reason I forget!

Totally agree that they are unrealistic about serious storylines. They should do one occasionally, nail it, rather than this scatter gun approach.

@Middlemarch123 I read the promo when Theo joined so I knew he was Harrison. Harrison was irritatingly wooden too!

I don't want Todd upset again. Especially when he's missing Julie.

I had a very traumatic birth with my first child 55 years ago. Emergency c section during which my son and I nearly died,I was in hospital for two weeks afterwards on the day I went home asked my DH to bring in my lovely slim fitting pre pregnancy clothes.To my horror I could not get my skirt fastened around my still swollen waist and abdomen, and had to use two nappy pins!.It was over two months after when I could get normal clothes to fit me.
I saw DeeDee and thought, Grrr!.But this is Corrie.
