Todd has got a new beau, and he looks like a Ken doll
And it turns out he's got a wife too
Things never go smoothly for Todd do they really?
What on earth is he going to do?

Julie's still suffering with cancer it seems,
and Kev is still ill with it - how sad
Now Debbie's very likely got dementia
Which is really very bad.

New guy Mick and his missus are loathsome
I hope they leave really soon
I want to just grab them and drop kick them hard
So they end up on the dark side of the moon

DeeDee has had Joels baby, but doesn't want her
And her brother's stepped up to be her dad
But I think she's wavering and getting a bit attached
If she gives her baby up she may be sad.

DeeDee's about to take action for the poor treatment she had
When she was in labour and about to give birth
I hope she gets justice and gets treated right
And gets compensated for what she is worth

Dorin is back, he's incredibly cute
And I have to say DeeDee's baby is too (edit by request)
I hope they don't turn into little shits
Like the children in Corrie tend to do!

Daisy and Jenny have proper fallen out
Over the pub and money and debts
I wonder who'll end up owning it and running it
I think we should take some bets!

I think that's most of what's going on! (Sorry if I've left owt out!)

Debbie owns a hotel, I am sure there were references to her owning more than one, so fair to say she is probably quite wealthy.

And Ronnie thinks she dreams of owning the nicest house in Coronation Street.

dogsandcatsandhorses · 30/04/2025 10:19

Thelma Barlow ( Mavis Riley) has come out of retirement at 95 and stars in a short comedy film called Sleepless in Settle. It’s available on YouTube. Not watched it yet. She was a brilliant character in Corrie, the film’s about 20 minutes long.

EachandEveryone · 30/04/2025 10:22

God I hope that German brother won’t be after Debbie’s money. And please god don’t let her keep her diagnosis from them.

zanahoria · 30/04/2025 12:02

I have always assumed that Debbie lives at her hotel. Where else would suit her? She is like the Queen of Sheba in her palace.

Shellingbynight · 30/04/2025 12:03

Carl will definitely be after Debbie's money. It'll be Uncle Stephen all over again. His eyes lit up at the mention of Power of Attorney so he may not only steal from her but gaslight her about it. What a cheerful thought. That is not a spoiler, I just think it's obviously the way it's going.

Loved Debbie tonight:
”Ronnie didn’t fall for my long legs, 22” waist and me perky ya-yas…”

Not only a brilliant line but she has also perfected the delivery of one liners, no pause, she just moves on and keeps up the chatter.

Shellingbynight · 30/04/2025 12:07

I loved that line, she has great delivery.

I agree that no way would Debbie want to live on Coronation Street. She is smart and blingy, she'd have a flat where Mike Baldwin had one - The Quays, I think it was.

eggandonion · 30/04/2025 13:04

I really dislike Debbie and Julie having these issues. Having been through Paul's end of life, I feel as if we need positive medical events. When we get those, they are forgotten, it's unrealistic.
I don't need Carl to have power of attorney, Ronnie is nicer. Currently...

EachandEveryone · 30/04/2025 13:12

Why can’t Julie be living with cancer like I’m trying to? I’m aghast she seems to not have any community help no palliative care coming to help with the pain, no maggies centre to pop into even though there’s a massive cancer hospital where she lives, no palative chemo just To see if it does anything. It’s really annoying me. And it’s always the best ones they kill off!

Illjusthavethebreadsticks · 30/04/2025 13:47

Deadringer · 30/04/2025 09:15

Tbf Yasmeen's house is the nicest on the street. It has an orangery don't you know!

And chickens !!

Illjusthavethebreadsticks · 30/04/2025 13:50

why get rid of Julie and Debbie two of the better female characters ?? There’s plenty of others it could have been although I guess Debbie is the best actress to carry off the dementia storyline. I think George likes Julie so was trying to put Brian off declaring undying love for her so he could be in with a chance.

Even worse, they brought her back for this twaddle

I thought the same. They bring back two of the best characters they’ve had, both brilliant actors, and do this to them.
I suppose they can’t afford extra actors to play palliative care staff but they could at least talk about the availability of support.

Yet the budget is there for the Youth Offenders.

Shellingbynight · 30/04/2025 14:41

Julie did mention (a few episodes ago) that the nurse had been to her in the night and she hoped it didn't wake the others.

The problem is they don't care if the storylines are convincing, they just churn through them. I really dread to think what they are going to do to Debbie.

eggandonion · 30/04/2025 14:46

Where is Dr Gadass? Poor Betsy and her arm, Julie and her cancer Debbie and her diagnosis, Deedee and her baby, and whoever Mick or Kit beats up. And no doctor, no medical centre, no nurse

Edited

Just watched it! Wow aged 95 and still so active and how stylish. She looks wonderful. I only knew her as nervous Mavis but in this she impresses and shows she's still "got it" 🌺

MonickerMonica · 30/04/2025 15:14

AND Dinnerladies of course!

moveoveralice · 30/04/2025 17:34

This stupid soap has the whole street looking after this poor little baby.

Meanwhile, her mother is fully groomed and ready to caseload.

Nothing resembles real life anymore.

Lorrymum · 30/04/2025 17:48

It's almost as though the scripts were written by a group of people with no life experience.
I spend most episodes muttering "Oh for goodness sake" and worse!

JewelleryCat · 30/04/2025 20:04

Gary has returned

Good to see Ryan again as well.

Uh-oh. Microphone in Rovers klaxon. Always means a dramatic announcement.
