Todd has got a new beau, and he looks like a Ken doll
And it turns out he's got a wife too
Things never go smoothly for Todd do they really?
What on earth is he going to do?

Julie's still suffering with cancer it seems,
and Kev is still ill with it - how sad
Now Debbie's very likely got dementia
Which is really very bad.

New guy Mick and his missus are loathsome
I hope they leave really soon
I want to just grab them and drop kick them hard
So they end up on the dark side of the moon

DeeDee has had Joels baby, but doesn't want her
And her brother's stepped up to be her dad
But I think she's wavering and getting a bit attached
If she gives her baby up she may be sad.

DeeDee's about to take action for the poor treatment she had
When she was in labour and about to give birth
I hope she gets justice and gets treated right
And gets compensated for what she is worth

Dorin is back, he's incredibly cute
And I have to say DeeDee's baby is too (edit by request)
I hope they don't turn into little shits
Like the children in Corrie tend to do!

Daisy and Jenny have proper fallen out
Over the pub and money and debts
I wonder who'll end up owning it and running it
I think we should take some bets!

I think that's most of what's going on! (Sorry if I've left owt out!)

Ah, thanks for explaining that - I'm really having trouble keeping up with the various storylines involving large sums of money, inheritances, trust funds and the financial shenanigans being played out between Jenny, Daisy, Christina and Carla! 😂

I hate all the money grubbing and the absurd justifications for it.

Jenny and Daisy has a real rapport as characters, it is shame they have gone down this route

The beauty of Corrie used to be that it was about building communities.

Shellingbynight · 29/04/2025 08:04

Daniel is a smug git (much like his dad) but he is absolutely right about Daisy.

I can’t even watch the scenes with Christina any more, it is pure ham. Poor Kate Robbins, reduced to this. I loved her as Dr Jill.

Amy Robbins

Kate is her sister

Why doesn't Daniel tell Daisy that if she doesn't stop the scam he will tell Jenny himself? While they are not particular friends he has known Jenny for years, no way would any decent person let her be conned when she is about to lose her home and livlihood when the pub is sold.

stampin · 29/04/2025 09:11

Jenny and Daisy are a pair of crooks. Not sure either of them deserve any sympathy.

Daisy's mother is just a pantomime villain.

Daniel is satisfied with his own air of moral superiority. He was happy enough with Daisy's dark side when she managed to get him out of trouble after he nicked Debbie's car when he was drunk.

I laughed when Daisy called him a condescending pseudo intellectual

Shellingbynight · 29/04/2025 09:37

I suppose there will be a lot of double crossing (that none of us care about) and either Christina will abscond with the money with Dom, or Dom will abscond on his own. Either way, Jenny and Daisy will end up with none of it.

(Oh yes - Amy.)

So that was cheerful. Dementia, 2 x cancer, a dead arm and some bruised ribs.

It would be much more realistic if the scriptwriters included characters who were living with cancer (as opposed to having a terminal diagnosis), or whose cancer was in remission. Thinking of people in my circle of acquaintance there are two who have had successful treatment for bowel cancer, one for uterine cancer, two for breast cancer and one whose prostate cancer is under control. Only one friend sadly died from lung cancer.

Spoiler alert

eggandonion · 29/04/2025 17:02

I have a friend with quite complex cancer....do the bowel test please, he didn't...who has been having treatment for 10 years. I also have a neighbour with dementia, she has had it obviously since 2021. In that I didn't see her during lockdown. She's doing ok.
I think different writers have done the Rovers money thing and confused themselves.

Shellingbynight · 29/04/2025 17:13

I don't know what spoiler was in my post. I was replying about characters with cancer, all I know about Julie and Kev is what we've seen on screen.

The other thing I mentioned was that there are other characters who have recovered from cancer - Toyah and Sally. Rita also had a brain tumour in the very dim distant past.

MonickerMonica · 29/04/2025 17:36

Betsy and her dead arm. Errr was it just me or did anyone else see her slyly move it and look around. Is it getting better but she's not letting on. Or am I talking gobbledygook.

Yes she did it very obviously and wriggled her fingers and smirked.

Daniel is complete hypocrite but Daisy and Jennys tit for tat scheming is just so toxic and wierd

OlderGlaswegianLivingInDevon · 29/04/2025 18:02

yes ! she can wiggle her fingers !!!

Let's face it there was no way the writers would remember for long that her arm was supposed to be not working, just like it has been forgotten about the false leg Kevin's son has.

They don't really do 'boring' diseases, there has to be drama. Same with diabetes. Type II is remarkable common (I have it) but mainly older people and not all the exciting so soaps do not bother. Type I is more interesting and they can give it to a younger person.

JewelleryCat · 29/04/2025 20:20

@zanahoria i completely forgot Summer has Type 1 until you just said. The writers must have forgotten that too

Shellingbynight · 29/04/2025 21:11

It doesn't really matter what diseases they do, they are forgotten within weeks. Like Jack's foot and David's epilepsy and Toyah's ovaries.

They probably cannot even remember which foot Jack lost

He is often doing things that require him to be quite nimble like getting into fights and setting fire to buildings

I fancy Ronnie I hope he gets back with Debbie.

Freysimo · 30/04/2025 08:03

Ronnie told Debbie he had put an offer in for number 6. Is that Yasmeen's house?

Yes I think he said he'd found their "dream home' 🙄

Is there a world outside the street? Not for some of those characters it would seem. 😕

Where does Debbie live? In her hotel or have I missed something,?

JellyBeanSpring25 · 30/04/2025 09:09

@Thequeenofwishfulthinkingare you guessing about Daisy or is that a spoiler 😱

Deadringer · 30/04/2025 09:15

Tbf Yasmeen's house is the nicest on the street. It has an orangery don't you know!
