Another ch 5 drama

We love a ch 5 😂

The feud is a new 6 part drama - airing for 3 nights a week x 2 weeks

What can happen when a neighbourly dispute gets out of hand

Jill and Rupert play a couple - Emma and John who fall out with their neighbours Sonja and Alan over extending their kitchen and an extension

The Feud, an upcoming domestic thriller, takes the tension of "nightmare neighbours" and raises it to a whole new level, blending gripping drama with a cast of familiar faces that will keep you on the edge of your seat.

Starring Jill Halfpenny and Rupert Penry-Jones, this Channel 5 drama (https://www.yours.co.uk/leisure/celebrity-tv/channel-5-dramas/) is "full of paranoia“ and promises to pull viewers into a world where trust is scarc
e, and every interaction feels like it could ignite a powder keg.

'Emma and John Barnett, who, along with their teenage daughter Beth, appear to live an idyllic life on Shelbury Drive.

They’re close friends with their neighbours, Sonia and Alan, and despite their foibles, are also fond of older couple, Derek and Barbara.

'The close friendships in this seemingly peaceful street prove to be not quite as harmonious as they seem', teases the synopsis.

'When Emma and John decide to add a kitchen extension to their house, things quickly start to spin drastically out of control.

As objections to the plans are raised, unexpected skeletons and life-threatening secrets begin to rise to the surface.

Laced with menace, The Feud reveals how Emma’s aspirational dream turns sharply into obsession, paranoia, and fear. One decision sets in motion events that have unforeseeable consequences for both her and the people living on her street.'

Everyone is so weird aren’t they? So many secrets. I wonder why Alan and Lee are in cahoots

the80sweregreat · 15/04/2025 22:02

Is it a ‘black comedy’ of some sort ? Everyone is so unlikeable and all have many secrets!

Papergirl1968 · 15/04/2025 22:20

Unlike many C5 dramas, which are so bad they’re good, this is just…bad.
Doesn’t help that all of the characters are so unpleasant.
I have a horrible feeling Sonia’s cat is going to get it. First the magpie, next Biscuit or whatever her name is.

Blondeshavemorefun · 15/04/2025 22:26

havnt read replies as at work and my 5 isn’t working

so will have to watch tomorrow and reply before e3

Didnt watch this tonight Ive thrown in the towel

purpleme12 · 15/04/2025 22:55

Well there's a lot of people I know in this

purpleme12 · 15/04/2025 23:09

Papergirl1968 · 14/04/2025 21:34

I’ve sat through 1,000 court cases and no police officer or lawyer would behave like that.

In what way?

Gloriia · 16/04/2025 09:45

I quite liked it. Well acted, none of the clunkiness we've seen of late in other dramas.

Though why waste money on an extension when you're the bread winner and your dh is cheating. Peter Barlow's builder character is funny, who on earth would sign him up?! Also why take dodgy Dad's word on it that the planning was approved Confused.

Quite like cctv man/parking permit man. There's one in every street.

Delphey · 16/04/2025 10:11

I don't think Del Boy's Wife and the guy from Vicar of Dibley buried their son under the tree as they'd have kept it secret til the end if it was that.

Papergirl1968 · 16/04/2025 10:17

purpleme12 · 15/04/2025 23:09

In what way?

A lawyer just wouldn’t keep on with the insinuations about the cop being racist and the cop wouldn’t lose control and react to the needling by answering back. The magistrate would have never allowed it too.
It was TV court rather than real life court. I half expected someone to shout “objection” which never happens either, at least not in magistrates courts.

gingercat02 · 16/04/2025 10:28

DH and I watched both episodes last night. I love a cheesy C5 drama. Jill Halfpenny always plays a moany pitch, but she seems really nice IRL
Rupert P-J has been a favourite since Spooks.
The affair, the possibly murdered son and the weird CCTV man are classic C5

Gloriia · 16/04/2025 11:14

the80sweregreat · 14/04/2025 21:41

This reminds me of an ‘ inside number 9’ type programme, only 6 episodes not a one off
Especially the security man character

Yes definitely the same style. Half expected Steve Pemberton to pop up.

Augustus40 · 16/04/2025 11:24

Delboy's partner has not aged well! Unless she was made up that way for the series.

Yes ch 5 is generally a bit poor at dramas.

Papergirl1968 · 16/04/2025 13:02

Elderly male neighbour in shirt and tie is turning out to be a bit of a bully to his wife. I have a feeling security guy, annoying though he is, will turn out to be a good guy whose cctv evidence proves crucial.

She’s in Grantchester and looks good so assume the role. Half way through first episode but I don’t mind spoilers with channel 5 programmes 😁

The elderly neighbour was very good in his role in an episode of Unforgotten.

purpleme12 · 16/04/2025 19:21

I knew the builder was dodgy!

Blondeshavemorefun · 16/04/2025 20:01

Right watched last nights. In time for tonight’s

not a lot happened in 2

thi the bum flashing was funny

and I didn’t reliese the girl texting the blonde daughter photographer was the police lady

i watch with subtitles and it said pc walked to bar or something like that and it clicked

so who killed the magpie

cctv man will prob be handy

maybe the neighbours aren’t having an affair but something else

its almost too obvious to have a body under the tree but not sure what else can be

roll on 9pm for e3

I don't think they've killed the son either!

NewAgeNewMe · 16/04/2025 20:04

i haven’t watched episode 2 but I reckon the builder is dodgy purely because he’s Peter Barlow. I actually don’t know the actors name 🙈

I know the JH
Penry jones man
four weddings man
downtown Abbey woman
and Tessa peake jones

the Rest I recognise in a roundabout way 😆

Blondeshavemorefun · 16/04/2025 20:01

Hoping this isn’t a spoiler

why do you say this ?

Well because the builder was talking to Alan on the phone
I can't remember what they said but it was obvious they were in cahoots in some way and it was something to do with the extension. It didn't give all the information

And no it's not a spoiler cos we've seen it lol

No it's too obvious the way they're fretting over moving the tree. I don't think I'd fancy moving any of our trees tbh in the same circumstances.

purpleme12 · 16/04/2025 20:07

And I definitely think Sonia and John are having it off with each other

Ah. I assumed dad was talking to him to pay him some money to speed the planning up

Not that he was dodgy

i wasn’t sure if you had somehow seen 3 and it was made obvious there
