I think that Barney went to see Vicky to say he wasn’t annoyed about her outburst or something and the others were just there ! He doesn’t really know any of them that well, but Phil and Teddy are related etc , so I guess there is a blood line there of sorts ( or was before all this , there isn’t one there now I suppose for Barney )
He may come under the ‘ famillyy’ umbrella though. Just about. He is now related to Sharon ; vicky and Sharon are half sisters , so his a kind of half brother half brother ?? Is that a thing ?

Sharon is Barney's biological aunt. And Vicki is sort of his aunt as she is Sharon's half sister.

The family trees are all so messy in EE 🙄

Vicki is Sharon's half sister through adoption so biologically he's not related to Sharon through that link, but is because she's Zack's half sister through Gavin being their dad, and no relation to Vicki bar half step aunt.

So there is a blood line link ( if you want to put it that way ) via Zack because Sharon and him had the same dad ( Gavin ) who was once married to Kathy cotton who was once married to Phil. Barney isn’t actually a Mitchell anymore now then, but enough links there to warrant a kind of honoury one.

I’m confused about Shireen. Who actually killed her? It keeps changing.

Nicola did kill Shireen. She had Benji put away for it , but she only used him to dispose of the body.
I don’t buy ‘ just an accident’ at all, she probably pushed her deliberately on the rocks.

TBH all the side bits were good this week, poor Nigel, and I thought Barney and Avani’s chat was lovely.

I'm so sick of the Nigel storyline, I hope someone contacts his wife soon and she can take him home.

I don’t buy into Phil being a carer, he is already struggling with Nigel’s moods and he isn’t even that bad yet. Maybe they will show other people coming in to him later on, but so far it’s not going that well really despite his best efforts.

I know the plot lines are crazy but I bloody love Eastenders!

I like the Nigel storyline. Dementia is something most of us will deal with at some point, either having it or caring for a relative with it. And the writers are actually doing a good job showing it realistically for once

But it really is terrible that nobody has called his wife. That poor woman.

I’m struggling with the fact that Clare is now 40!!!

I think I said upthread that I hoped they would show the reality of caring for someone with dementia, ok they have speeded it up a bit but it resonates with me. MIL lived with us for 2 years in the early stages and it nearly broke us, putting her in a home was hard but it had to be done ☹️

Haha no one really seemed bothered that Zac was drowned not even the police ! It’s ridiculous that no one has called Nigel’s wife or daughter.

Better episode today, but why did Lauren get all the blame and Cindy was the saviour. Finally Peter bonding with wee Jimmy, but an odd song choice for a lullaby
