New thread for the week as old one is almost full

So Phil is back home after his month away - still suffering but surviving

Amazing acting By Steve M !!

bur he can’t forgive shazza for shagging his brother

sure they will get back together

if kat and alfie can. So can phil and shaz

lily never seems to be looking after her baby who is now a walking toddler so in the kiddi cupboard never to be seen

stacey is away seeing sean (on ml)

will she be back for the funeral which is next week I think - sure that will be a tear jerker

Poor Nigel is losing his memory and his poor wife is worried not knowing where he is

new head Vicky is trying to con thousands from shaz or ian to pay Ross’s debts off

we had the 40th special and poor martin died as well as reiss who no one cared about

I said last thread jail or death. Death won for Reiss via a bath squashing him. I wonder if he had life insurance

as don’t think martin did

turned out Kathy walloped Cindy over the head where poor Lauren thought it was her and said no to Peter then after kaf confessed she popped the question back

Bianca finally managed to escape. I wish we had a flashback how she managed to get the bag - use the tools in it - escape and get back to the square - all in time to hit reiss with a teapot

i keep saying -
If people locked their back doors life would be better for all in the square 😂

Linda is sober. Yah !!! Now to find her a new love interest or mick will be back doing a Harold from neighbours

Tommy seems to be ok tho best friends with a robot

baby Julia is huge and has amazing head control for a 6w old 😂

jean Has no idea that her partner is shagging Cathy

everyone is living in the new tardis of sonjas while the pub gets rebuilt

jack and Denise been very quiet. She should have chosen Ravi

ravis daughter is running of the rails due to her strip search and no sign of nugget. What a shame

teddy is back with his ex wife who seems had shireen killed but why - will her body surface with the deal teddy and junior are doing in Dartford

think that’s it but add any stories that I’ve forgotten

I wonder why Sharon wasn’t at the funeral.

Maybe Letitia called in sick the day they filmed at the church

Keeping an eye on the kiddie cupboard?

murasaki · 07/04/2025 21:38

I don't know why Eve couldn't find Lily, all EE kids go to the swings when they're pissed off.

It's like the allotments used to be for the blokes.

excelledyourself · 07/04/2025 21:39

I admit that I fell away from Eastenders for quite a while, so perhaps I’ve missed the background, but I was surprised to see Freddie carrying Martin’s coffin, especially over someone like Billy.

Were Martin and Freddie that close?

murasaki · 07/04/2025 21:41

Billy would drop it.

excelledyourself · 07/04/2025 21:43

Billy would drop it.

Fair point!

Bunionbabe · 07/04/2025 22:24

Billy is a short-arse the others less so. Who was babysitting Charli, if anyone?

murasaki · 07/04/2025 22:33

Maybe Jack and Denise?

SnowFrogJelly · 07/04/2025 23:06

What a tear jerker 😥

SnowFrogJelly · 07/04/2025 23:07

Jellykat · 07/04/2025 20:49

Agree @ChonkyRabbit

I did chuckle tonight, when Anna said she'd never be able to look at a Banana without thinking of Martin.

Yes I did laugh at that bit!

lazymum99 · 08/04/2025 09:36

It should have been a tear jerker but it didn’t have that affect on me. We seem to have waited too long and most of the characters were just annoying.
Stacey is bipolar and on medication. In her current circumstances with the stress the drinking and the chaotic lifestyle (probably forgetting to take the pills) she would almost certainly have a flair up.
The banana thing was really funny and somehow looked and sounded really natural

XxSideshowAuntSallyx · 08/04/2025 10:17

The problem with the funeral last night was it wasn't about Martin, it was all about Stacey yet again. Stacey playing the grieving widow was unnecessary.

I think Adam has played a blinder as the grieving Ian. He's done it so understated, same with Natalie, you really feel for both Ian and Sonia.

Kathy's howling makes me laugh, not sure it should but it does.

I liked Anna's bit about the banana, it seemed the sort of thing someone would say and the stifling of laughter too.

thisoldcity · 08/04/2025 13:50

I thought it was all quite well done, with at least no fights at the graveside, just back on the square. I really felt for Lily as she will always remember the day of her dad's funeral and how it all went so wrong and she didn't even see any of it. I thought Jean was quite sensible for once, but Stacey...all about her. I actually felt sorry for Ruby and I don't usually like her at all, but she was the actual grieving widow and didn't get a look in.

Blondeshavemorefun · 08/04/2025 14:08

@murasaki. Yep. Swing or allotment is the hide out

no sign of Charlie while lily was looking after his brother and sister

did seem weird shazza wasn’t at funeral

I did think weird that as lilys friend s wasn’t there to support her at funeral but there in playground

Arthur and Pauline’s grave looked very clean and new. Not like 30&20yrs old

ChonkyRabbit · 08/04/2025 19:38

No marks on Lily's face I see.

I can't muster any sympathy for Ruby. I can understand her jealousy of Stacey but the way she's treated his other children has been awful, kept trying to make out Roman and her were his only family. Now the tables are turned and she doesn't like her own medicine.

murasaki · 08/04/2025 20:13

Swings and allotments, I should really do the lottery tomorrow!

whatswrongwivme · 08/04/2025 20:48

Watching them carrying and shifting the coffin about, sliding it onto the car etc, it was so so obvious that it was empty!

whatswrongwivme · 08/04/2025 20:53

It always makes me laugh that in EastEnders everyone who dies has a Victorian-era funeral. The glass sided hearse, the man walking ahead of it dressed like the Beadle out of Oliver Twist, and buried in the ground in a churchyard. What absolute nonsense it all is he would have had the cheapest possible coffin (as they are all broke in that family), and he would have been cremated - like everybody else is in London these days.

Jellykat · 08/04/2025 21:04

Coincidentally, when Ruby was looking at the stall towards the end, i thought blimey thats a bit dodgy - lit candles sitting on top of plastic covering.. then voila (although of course we are led to believe it was down to Rubys jealousy)

rainbowruthie · 09/04/2025 16:38

Yep I said to DH "coffins looking a bit light there" - he doesn't watch EE (or does he!) he said "who is meant to be in it" me "Martin" him "oh right yes a big bloke" Grin

Blondeshavemorefun · 09/04/2025 17:29

They all seemed to walk wonky with the coffin

neat vodka is really rank but the teens seem to manage drinking it ok

do kinda feel bad for RuBy

tho if Stacey hasn’t hit phil over the head (I think) then wouidnt have gone to jail and would have still be with martin

think that’s why they split

plus also shagging kush but he forgive him

murasaki · 09/04/2025 17:37

Those soldiers that did such a great job with the late Queen will have been shuddering at that coffin performance.

Blondeshavemorefun · 09/04/2025 19:35

Would you ask someone to ring your phone ?
