Did anybody else get tickets yesterday?
I’m so excited, I love Shearsmith and Pemberton (and still nurse an almighty crush on RS). Also a bit nervous, as I still have to watch some episodes from the safety of behind a cushion.

The celeb when I saw it was Tamsin Outhwaite…bit of a disappointment compared to some others tbh!

I was about to post the same thing. I was disappointed too.

They're certainly inventive enough too! I don't think the regional shows will be any poorer than the London one was. Glad to hear you enjoyed it enough to go again !

Edited

I’m probably not going to go again but it’s definitely worth seeing once.

EmeraldRoulette · 05/04/2025 09:38

No offence to Bob or Tamsin but I'm surprised no one was excited by my post saying last night's guest!

Reddit tells me there were many ovations!

@70isaLimitNotaTarget that's dedication to watch Whitechapel every year, hmm. I think it's brilliant but the darkness of it might be too much for me now. I think Season 4 went too far as well. I reckon they could have got another season if they had pulled back a bit.

I could probably watch S2 and S3 again.

anyway....I predict Derek Jacobi tonight.

there's loads of tickets still left for the tour, but I think they were genuinely surprised the London run sold out so fast so maybe they're not expecting a sell out run.

Boredlass · 05/04/2025 09:44

I’m going to the opening night in Sunderland. Can’t wait. Very near the front as well. I have no clue what it’s about and I don’t want to know. I’d rather go in blind

whenyouwereyoung · 05/04/2025 09:59

We saw Stage Fright in the west end a few weeks ago and the special guest was Simon Pegg. It was absolutely hilarious and RS forgot his lines! An added bonus, Frank Skinner was in the audience. We were looking at tickets for Edinburgh but we’re not available 🥲

Our guest was Bob Mortimer.

So I win.

Yes you do! 😍

OnGoldenPond · 05/04/2025 10:11

For all those who love Reece Shearsmith, he has been regularly appearing at the BFI in the South Bank introducing a series of his favourite films. Went to see him introducing The Elephant Man. He gave a really great talk going into such interesting details about the real story behind the film and he was so engaging. It was great to be there listening to him in a small venue like that. I’m hoping he will be doing some more.

Lottapianos · 05/04/2025 10:50

About 15 years ago, I went to see a recording of a radio show called Chain Reaction. It was one comedian interviewing another comedian who was a total hero of theirs, and then the next week, the interviewee interviewed a hero of theirs, and so on

We saw Reece Shearsmith interviewing Bob Mortimer, and it was as brilliant as you would expect 😁

EachandEveryone · 05/04/2025 10:55

I wonder if he would do last man laughing? Imagine his magic show 😀

That interview is still on BBC sounds! It’s lovely.

Started a chat/spoiler thread for the show!

I'm glad you did this on culture vulture as I don't want shouted at if someone accidentally opens it even though your thread quite clearly states SPOILER

saw the Matinee for the last day of the west end yesterday, for my son's 19th birthday.
there was a technical issue which wasnt able to be resolved, so they rewrote the second half to account for it, which meant a bit of a delay but a different show to everyone else.
I am also a mighty crusher of RS, it seems to be fairly common (poor Steve)

Our celebrity guest was Louis Theroux, who I was very pleased about, but whoever got Bob Mortimer probably hit the celebrity jackpot.

Some good jump scares, a few moments where RS lost the plot through laughing, as suspect SP was clowning it up a bit more than he should have been - I read in the programme he likes to do this to keep things on their toes for long repeat performances, whereas RS DOES NOT (I guess RS does alot more stage work)

Really enjoyed it but had I known they dont do the stage door for matinees I would probably have got evening tickets. I dont think they are coming near me sadly on the wider tour

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 06/04/2025 16:50

Very jealous that you got last day tickets they sold out so quickly ( first day and last day dates flew out)

Was the delay really a technical fault or like the Halloween Live show?
You cannot expect them to go out without a bang 😆

You can have your RS crush , my heart is forever SP 💓

TheBitchOfTheVicar · 06/04/2025 16:55

my celeb was Kevin Eldon, early on in the run.

I loved it - would love to go on the tour but it’s not coming anywhere close to me

my son thought it was going to be a trick technical hitch, but Im pretty sure it was a real one.

fruitandvegoverload · 15/04/2025 09:15

I've got tickets for Birmingham opening night! I cannot wait for October. My dream special guest would be Matt Berry.

NettleTea · 15/04/2025 20:01

Im thinking about getting tickets for Canterbury. Thats the closest to me as they dont seem to be coming to S E coast

LyndaSnellsSniff · 03/05/2025 23:21

Yes! Going to see it in Woking in October. Cannot wait.

EmeraldRoulette · 03/05/2025 23:26

So glad it's going on tour and that they won the BAFTA comedy writing award for the TV show

surprised they didn't win the Olivier award for Stage/Fright though

NettleTea · 07/09/2025 18:38

has anyone seen any of the Tour shows yet?

everychildmatters · 14/09/2025 19:23

We saw it last Friday at Milton Keynes. Our guest star was Greg Rutherford and I have to admit I had no idea who he was! My lad and I enjoyed it and jumped a fair bit!!

Herewegoagain751 · 14/09/2025 20:40

Saw it last night and guest was Joe Pasquale! Was brilliant.

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 14/09/2025 21:59

DD and I are going to Edinburgh , I haven't told her what happens apart from she needs to watch "Psychoville"

I don't know how good our seats are though but I had a look at the "What;s my view" and it isn;t obscured .

I am unreasonably excited to see it again (DD hasn;t seen it) , no spoilers for her .
We're drawing up a wish list for guests - Gary Oldman would be mine Grin.

EmeraldRoulette · 15/09/2025 00:10

oh yay
I forgot it had restarted

So, can anyone tell me - is it exactly the same?
