On in about 15 mins, anyone planning to watch?

OP posts:

How did they get away with blatant advertising of the new hair products? How come Joe never takes that cap off?

He wasn't wearing it the whole time. Tbh I prefer it when he does wear it, as I hate the mismatch in colour between his (dyed) hair and his (ginger) beard!

So lovely to see his interactions with his sisters and now his mum too ❤️

TeaRoseTallulah · 22/04/2025 23:14

Why on earth didn't she wear an apron doing pottery? She was wearing white FFS. Most bizarre.

I agree. She didn't even roll her sleeves up! Then they went out for a meal and there were hardly any marks on her 😯 Would have been better to eat first surely?

Loyaltyplease · 23/04/2025 07:13

She looked furious when his family all turned up for lunch and he hadn’t told her - I felt so sorry for her.

Serpentstooth · 23/04/2025 07:20

Yup, advertising, shame on you BBC, If Michel Roux got binned for wanting to endorse Albert Bartlett spuds, then hair products should be banned too. As for the cap, presumable Joe's got a bald spot which shines through the unfortunate hair dye. That aside, I'm finding this an unexpectedly cheerful hour

the80sweregreat · 23/04/2025 07:33

She didn’t look happy did she? He did rather spring it on her / forgot ! His family seem nice.

Serpentstooth · 23/04/2025 07:43

His family seem nice enough although you'd think at least one of the huge mob would, knowing how scatty Joe is, have texted "thanks for invitation, what shall we bring with us?" I'd be pretty cross in that situation. Can't imagine rolling up to a house with 5 kids without giving advance notice, family or not.

Blondeshavemorefun · 23/04/2025 12:36

Been on my planner for ages but I watch so much tv stuff never got round to it

finally just seen e1

Stace comes across as a lovely lady tbh but hard she had the patience of a saint with joe

no anniversary pressie so goes off shopping with kids for hours while Stace sorts garden out for meal

now I love candles but over £400 on them seems insane

the 5hrs late . Why go night fishing the night before a big thing for her - yes maybe was an accident on the roads but why risk it the night before

ducks pooing over the sofa. Rank

pool looked nice and yes they have a cover over it to match the pavement round it /beige

they are meant to be walkable covers so is safe

I did like her parenting with Leighton. He didn’t do his chores so didn’t get money and she didn’t back down

no nappies. I would have left him with all the kids and gone to the shop myself

Dave the dad seems great but he can’t do it all

a nanny/hk would be helpful to Stacey when working

she came across really well I thought

joe seems childish. Annoying. And not helpful.

a cheeky chap

Be interesting if they will be together in 5/10/20yrs time

till on e 2

Blondeshavemorefun · 23/04/2025 12:41

Just found my original reply 😂 as reading the thread

@e45cream Hope recovery going well

as above I did enjoy e1

@mum2jakie we do and I did enjoy so will watch 2

NameChangedForThis2025 · 23/04/2025 17:18

I'm clearly waaay too invested in this because I've come back to comment more.

I take back my initial assessment of Joe. Yes I'm sure he's a pain in the arse, but he's warm and energetic and obviously loves his family and Stacey.

I've read the negative comments about Stacey. Not sure what to make of those, all I can say is that if she really is an unpleasant person underneath she's clearly a much much better actor than her hubby!

Personally, I believe she is how she seems. I appreciate her gratitude for her life, the values she seems to be trying to teach her kids and her candour. I think (unlike Megan in With Love Megan!) she seems to be without much artifice.

That said, I'm sure she's not perfect!

Blondeshavemorefun · 23/04/2025 18:03

E2 was nice she checked with Zac before filming his results

Beangate. I'm on Stacey's side.

Table if eating food and then tv

Lovely she won the tv award and Joe seemed very Proud

I admit after watching this show so far - my opinion has changed of Stacey

She does come across as a great mum

jow comes across immature at times and annoying

interesting to hear via google that she owned and brought pickle cottage

it’s not a shared /joint home

Blackcountrychik83 · 23/04/2025 19:44

I haven’t watched it before but saw the not very good reviews of it on here so last night I saw it pop up so I watched it and I really enjoyed it . But then I love people like Joe 🤣 all my family have ADHD and scatty brained so I’m used to it . My Dad should go on the radio station Joe went to about his purchases online , my Dad would be worse 🤣

They are such a team but Stacey didn’t come across as herself last night . But a lovely warm couple however the comments about date night seemed to make out like all isn’t as well at Pickle Cottage as they make out due to not enough time together (and Joes obsession with buying daft stuff on tik tok! ) 🤣 Stacey does come across like she always has to be in control tho and boss and I imagine Joe doesn’t listen to her 🤣

A great episode !

Blackcountrychik83 · 23/04/2025 19:46

I genuinely thought they appeared to be such a happy couple , when they were laughing together on the sofa just made me happy for them that not everyone has that what they have together . They seem really genuine .

Blondeshavemorefun · 23/04/2025 22:20

I must have liked this as have watched 4 episodes today and now up to tv pace 😂

agree the hair dye is annoying. He’s ginger. Ginger beard and ginger hair chewy

so why dye head hair

stacey loves her grandma and weird she’s in her and her dad but not her mum

I still think are teeth are too white and big and why annoy me when see her smiling Insanely all the time

but I do like the couple /family and roll on e5 next week

A great episode !

I thought the spoiler for next weeks episode looked like they were having couples therapy/counselling

I assumed it was the ADHD therapy session that Joe wanted her to come along to.

That's what it looked like to me too!

Blondeshavemorefun · 25/04/2025 06:27

This is why I never watch the trailers for the next weeks episode on anything

the80sweregreat · 25/04/2025 07:03

Joe said he’d take Stacey along to see the therapist about his ADHD symptoms/ diagnosis, so might be this ?

TheTigerWhoCameToBrunch · 27/04/2025 14:51

I’ve just watched E1 and as I’d expected from seeing him on SYLO, he’s just an incompetent manchild.

Her teen sons are awful, pretty much what I would imagine teen sons to be like. She has my sympathies!

I do really like Stacey and will be watching the rest.

Serpentstooth · 27/04/2025 18:35

Her teen sons appear to be fine. What requirements do you have for teen boys behaviour? If you're expecting better of yours I fear you may be sadly disappointed.

I don’t have boys - it’s the only bit of good karma this life has afforded me! 😅

Good grief, rather boys than girls any day!

Teen boys over teen girls anyway. They’re a walk in the park. I have both

Poor Joe. I feel quite sorry for him. 'Arrested development' used to be the phrase. He's emotionally about 12 years old and obviously is used to living in a state of suppressed distress. He should stick with therapy but will probably find he feels too vulnerable to do so. I hope Stacey's patience lasts, 5 kids and an extra large one too.

I've never thought about what that phrase actually means, you've prompted me to look it up. I haven't watched the series since the first episode and didn't know he'd had a difficult life
