Anyone else watching? It’s brilliant - so funny. Game show format with some great comedians on

Why persevere with something you don’t find funny?

Phase2 · 30/03/2025 10:39

When did the last two drop? I’d really like to see the end?

RufustheFactuaIReindeer · 30/03/2025 10:44

We just binged watched it and recommended it to dd

there are definitely some of the comedians that i didn’t find at all funny but it was the reactions of the other comedians which set us off

daisy may cooper especially

are the oz and irish ones on streaming services?

On their arms-dealing mother’s sword perhaps?

I see what you did here Grin

Phase2 · 30/03/2025 11:27

Thanks @FloatyGoatyi must have missed seeing it

Definitely mad! The coat and the Bob Marley had me crying, but agree it's very physical comedy compared to the UK one.

By the end I was wondering if some of them needed sectioning 🤣

I got to the end and thought the same re sectioning. They were absolutely exhausted as well. It was far more full on than the uk one too, in that they actively had to try to make the others laugh or they could be ejected for being too ‘passive’. Plus there was a prize pot of $100,000 which made it all even more desperate.

I think I laughed most at Anne Edwards and Frank Woodley. The guy who didn’t stop for even a second, Sam Simmons, was far too much for me. He certainly left his dignity at the front door!

I would easily win this as I didn't so much as smirk throughout the whole thing. I think it just shows up that, left unscripted and unrehearsed, the comics just aren't funny. It was largely crude, puerile, childish and without charm or wit. I honestly don't understand how anyone could find it funny, let alone hilarious.

Definitely don’t watch the Oz one, you'd absolutely hate it!

Oz and Irish (and Canadian) are on prime.

Thank you!

Edited

Yes, Sam was a bit much! Loved those other two though. I'd never heard of any of them, so it was good to go in with no preconceptions, but by god it was bonkers.

LadyRoughDiamond · 30/03/2025 18:27

I came here to say “Shh… it’s just magic” 🤣

JandamiHash · 31/03/2025 01:41

Just finished it.

Cons: I didn’t laugh hysterically all the way through like others, in fact I was a bit baffled at most of it. i didn’t find any of the jokers funny (not even Bob’s magic show) and I felt like I was watching 3 hours of “I guess you had to be there” comedy. Watching Jimmy Carr and the others laugh hysterically at absolutely everything was very annoying. I’m not sure what Roisin Connaty was even there for. She contributed absolutely nothing

Pros: However I do think everything Bob Mortimer did was hysterical. Ditto Richard Ayoade and Judi Love. They made the show worthwhile and there were some classic belly laugh moments. Bob’s song being one, Judi Love saying the doctor said “You’ve just got big eyes” and the speed dating. Just brilliant!

I’m afraid I don’t get Lou Sanders and Harriet at all, didn’t laugh at them once just thought they were stupid, and can’t get on with the Joe’s either. I think if there’d been other comedians I’d have laughed more often than I did. But I’ve never seen Taskmaster so maybe need to watch that to “get it”

JitterbugFairy · 31/03/2025 09:19

Halfway through the Aussie version. I was crying laughing at Sam 🤣

IWillAlwaysBeinaClubWithYouin1973 · 31/03/2025 11:43

@JitterbugFairy - Sam Campbell?! I'd love to see him in a room with Bob Mortimer!

ItisIbeserk · 31/03/2025 12:00

No, different Sam. But Sam Campbell would be extraordinary viewing on this.

JitterbugFairy · 31/03/2025 12:04

Sam Simmonds.

EineReiseDurchDieZeit · 31/03/2025 12:18

I’m not sure what Roisin Conaty was there for

Quite. I think a mistake was made and they overbooked and that’s how she ended up as like on a subs bench

ItisIbeserk · 31/03/2025 12:25

I wondered if they wanted someone for Jimmy to talk to, as the other hosts are left talking to themselves. But it’s only till the first person is out so a big investment for a short time if so.

pearbottomjeans · 31/03/2025 12:28

I thought the same a Roisin. Like, ‘you’re not good enough to host, you’re not good enough to be a contestant, do you just wanna come and sit with Jimmy?’ 😆 why! Poor Roisin. She’s way better than Lou & Harriet 😵‍💫

JandamiHash · 31/03/2025 12:31

Yep. As annoying as I find Jimmy Carr, he did contribute something as he was funny

ItisIbeserk · 31/03/2025 13:04

I’d have swapped Roisin in for Harriet too.

QueefQueen80s · 31/03/2025 15:58

I thought the same about Roisin but if you listen she does provide a lot of the filler talk/commentary

ConstantlyFuriosa · 31/03/2025 18:04

Agree re Lou and especially Harriet not being funny. Rosin would’ve been so much better.

There are more women than men on the Irish one which is refreshing. They’re all pretty funny too.

I think I’m a little addicted to the format, which is kind’a like celebrity big brother but with jokes.

Yep. I just tried it and couldn't even get through one episode. I turned off once Daisy May Cooper had that leaf blower blower between her legs pretending to be on a roller coaster.
