Anyone else watching? It’s brilliant - so funny. Game show format with some great comedians on

I think the runner up fell on their sword to let the winner win

QueefQueen80s · 27/03/2025 19:11

I was in tears at this, and that hasn’t happened with a show for ages! I wish everyone would watch it, it cheered me right up
Tried the Irish one with Graham Norton and barely laughed

alahanscornershop · 27/03/2025 19:46

Just finished it and I had tears rolling down my face. Fabulous programme!

I watched a few episodes of the Irish version of this and just couldn't get on with it even though it had some brilliant people on it.
Has anyone watched both for comparison?

Yes. Uk version funnier though definitely less strict about smiles and smothered laughter. I think probably because it's much funnier, if they were stricter, it would be over within the hour.

Yuja · 27/03/2025 19:59

Just binged this, so funny I cried laughing

Same!
I was in tears with the British one so had high hopes for the Irish one but didn’t laugh once. Such a stark contrast

itsnotabouthepasta · 27/03/2025 20:33

I would recommend the Australian one. That descended into utter chaos at the end

im going to watch the final episodes tonight

TheChosenTwo · 27/03/2025 21:28

Downloaded the final 2 episodes for my train journey this morning, I don’t think this programme made me actually laugh but it was enjoyable nonetheless. Bit of a bizarre concept and I don’t know what value Roisin brought but I do like her. Jimmy had a bit of a role as the host but she was just sort of plonked in and didn’t really do much.

OudAndRose · 27/03/2025 21:33

I really enjoyed this. Simple pleasure. Richard Ayoade is a delight.

ItisIbeserk · 27/03/2025 23:28

DH and I were both crying with laughter and realised neither of us has properly belly laughed for far too long. We loved observing all different approaches. Joe Wilkinson’s RNLI ‘… and the Republic of Ireland’ is making me laugh just to type it.

Where might we find the Australian version, anyone know?

murasaki · 27/03/2025 23:30

The Australian one is also on prime, we're going to give it a go this weekend.

Just finished this one, there's no way I could have watched it on a train, I was crying with laughter.

ItisIbeserk · 27/03/2025 23:36

Oh, is it? It hasn’t popped up as a suggestion like the Irish one has. I’ll find it.

murasaki · 27/03/2025 23:38

Oh, oddly it appeared before the UK one I was 4 episodes into when I tuned in today! I didn't see the Irish one, but from comments here that's no particular loss.

JitterbugFairy · 28/03/2025 16:13

Started watching the Irish version. Pants. Turned it off after a few minutes 😕

IWillAlwaysBeinaClubWithYouin1973 · 28/03/2025 16:17

I think Bob Mortimer has taken over the crown from the late genius Sean Lock as the "comics' comic", you can see how the others admire him. And Mortimer vs Ayoade? v. special. I'm going around asking people for their thoughts on kitchen islands, very much my sense of humour.

IWillAlwaysBeinaClubWithYouin1973 · 28/03/2025 16:18

And another thing - Danny Dyer, he just brings out the best in people. National treasure.

Dellspoem · 28/03/2025 16:24

The speed date between Richard and Bob 😂
I’ve been watching this series for years now, they’ve done them in lots of countries around the world.. finally there’s a UK version!

pearbottomjeans · 28/03/2025 16:29

Watched all the other series, can’t believe it took UK this long to clock on! Love it.

Ilovegermany · 28/03/2025 16:33

So pleased to hear there is a UK one now. I have watched the German one and the Canadian one. Off to see if it’s also available on Prime in Germany

FloatyGoaty · 28/03/2025 18:07

@Ilovegermany

I'm sure it is as I have just recommended it to a family member and they watched it. Enjoy!

I thought exactly the same

EachandEveryone · 28/03/2025 18:25

Yes I did as well.

JandamiHash · 28/03/2025 22:11

Watching it now

Bob Mortimer is absolutely glorious isn’t he. I adore him on Would I Lie To You, his lanky bastards song on this is hysterical.

JandamiHash · 28/03/2025 22:18

Fraudornot · 23/03/2025 20:25

They were all sitting around and Bob said shall we talk about sausage dogs and there little legs. I just burst out laughing and they all walked away. He is just so funny

I agree with what a PP said about him being funny busy existing and this is a great example. If anyone else said that it wouldn’t be funny

JandamiHash · 28/03/2025 22:20

Phase2 · 23/03/2025 21:19

I’m really enjoying it but weirdly out of sync with the Bob love, have always found Vic and Bob completely unfunny. Lou is weird, can’t work out what she would do on stage.

Have you ever seen Bob on Would I Lie To You? I used to think the same when he was with (not nearly as funny) Vic Reeves then saw him on this and it cracks me up every time I watch his segments.
