Anyone else watching? It’s brilliant - so funny. Game show format with some great comedians on

I sort of enjoyed the 3 episodes I watched, but it takes a lot to make me laugh and this didn't do it.

I noticed a large number of writers listed in the credits, and wondered what they had written...although it could be that people who contributed to the participants' usual acts were being credited?

The last episode is by far the best, and the final joke is the funniest thing in the series, for my money. I didn't laugh much at the earlier episodes but was howling at the end of the last one

I didn’t find it hilarious but I did enjoy it and some bits were very funny. I watched the Aus one after and it’s interesting to compare. The British one is so reserved in comparison! I do not envy the cleaners on the Aus one Shock

On the Richard Osman and Marina Hyde podcast they discussed this. The writers create situations and scenarios as the whole time the comedians are together has to be quite tightly planned. They are obviously ad libbing and being themselves but it has to have context and a shape to it in order to work.

Watched it last night and loved it.

im surprised Joe went so early, I thought he would stay much longer.

i dont find Lou or Harriett at all funny, would love to have seen Sarah Millican in this, she would have given Bob and Richard a run for their money with the deadpan jokes.

was lovely to see Richard actually smile, though I agree that he gave it away

I've got those bloody Bob Mortimer songs stuck in my head on a loop! 😁 And memories of Judi and Harriet dancing in the background like a couple of kids 🤣

Yes Joe is very deadpan but he was so close to laughing constantly 🤣

Binged it last night and not sure what to think!

Found it an entertaining premise but wasn't exactly bowled over belly laughing. It was like comedians in the Big Brother house, and I quite enjoyed listening to mundane chats about Toby Carverys and kitchen islands.

Tbh, I think I'd have aced this. The only bit I properly lol'd at was Danny Dyer's reenactment of Harry Potter, and that was because of Dyer rather than the actual comedians.

If anything, it only reaffirmed my love for Richard Ayoade to the point it may have become a bit of a thing... His humour is exactly on my wavelength and he had such a lovely smile when he finally cracked!

Bit annoyed about the state of mainstream female comedy being so... idk, porny and biological? Very boring. We need more female deadpan comedians for the next series. The only one I can think of is Jo Brand.

Itisjustmyopinion · 06/04/2025 10:31

Had saw bits of this on gogglebox so we binged it last night. It was great but think it went on one episode too much as the energy dropped towards the end (no wonder they must have been exhausted)

Best bits for me was the RNLI, sssh it’s magic, Danny Dyer and Alison Hammond in the fridge

Only bit that let me down was DMC, don’t find her funny whatsoever in anything she does and in this she particularly annoyed me but stuck with it for the others.

Watched a couple of episodes last night. Didn't laugh at all but I might have done if I was actually there. I find Bob Mortimer funny on Would I Lie....but didn't even find him funny in this. I think Judi Love is naturally funny which is more than can be said for some of the others! Sam Campbell who others have mentioned was v funny on Would I Lie too. I'll persevere with this though

allstarsuperstar · 14/04/2025 22:22

Sam Campbell is great. Would love to see him and Jack Dee on S2 of LOL.

I wasn’t expecting to like it this, as I’m not a stand up comedy fan and don’t watch any of the panel shows (except HIGNFY), but I gave it a go after seeing some clips on TikTok and it was actually really entertaining. Not full of laugh out loud moments for me, but still a really enjoyable watch.

The best moment for me was, funnily enough, not any of the comedy routines, but the moment Bob sat down in the creaky chair and the look he gave to Judi - it nearly killed me 😂

I would easily win this as I didn't so much as smirk throughout the whole thing. I think it just shows up that, left unscripted and unrehearsed, the comics just aren't funny. It was largely crude, puerile, childish and without charm or wit. I honestly don't understand how anyone could find it funny, let alone hilarious.

No, it doesn't show that.

This thread shows that lots of people found the comedians funny. They are, therefore, funny. That is the test. Can they make people laugh? You not finding them funny doesn't change or negate that, Margot Ledbetter.
