Welcome to the EastEnders spoilers thread, where we post and talk about any EE spoilers we've read about, including those in early release episodes on iPlayer.

Link below to watch episodes on BBC iPlayer - these are usually dropped at 6am on broadcast days - and you can read brief synopses of upcoming episodes:

Sonia’s screaming and gurning was hilarious and horrendous!

the80sweregreat · 20/02/2025 21:21

I wonder if they will call the new pub ' the Bic' in honour of Sonia's life saving skills with Ben that time and she saved Julia's life too.

Southeastdweller · 20/02/2025 21:23

I've just watched it (had to go food shopping, the only time this week I could do it!).

Haven't yet read the comments here, but oh my days I'm surprised Martin died. After that (gorgeous) paramedic talked to Stacey and then when she and Martin had that heart-to-heart I was thinking "He's going to die" but was also kind of sceptical it was going to happen. But I guess it was building up from that convo.

Haven't read the context for James's exit, but I really hope that, as a dad of four, it was his choice to leave.

I wasn't impressed with Natalie Cassidy. As someone who's given birth twice, you'd have thought she'd be more convincing!

Just finished on catch up, I thought generally they all did very well, Stacey's scream was heartbreaking.
Is everyone completely accounted for now?

I was quite shocked at the prop newborn - being able to see a little blue face and bum was unexpected and could have been very triggering! I was more impressed that Julia had aged 5 months between the pub and the ambulance.

However... I found it really difficult to accept that Martin's heart rate, sats and resps all remained static throughout, and when they shocked him there wasn't a paddle in sight anywhere near the pads ... I am well aware this may be a me issue though!!

Southeastdweller · 20/02/2025 21:30

Why are some of you saying there was no Julia's Theme at the end? I heard it but maybe they added it on a bit later?

I commented to dh how good looking the paramedic was as well. Hope he becomes a permanent fixture… !

I also expected more talk and discussion from all the fireman and ambulance staff around. All they seemed to do was shine torches at each other, apart from one who walked in front of the camera.

Tiredofallthis101 · 20/02/2025 21:34

Lacey Turner was fab. The Phil/Linda/Nigel acting was also excellent amd TBH I don't think Grant was necessary at all, no point to his return. Maybe a Phil/Linda romance on the cards?

Don't get why anyone would vote for Denise and Jack - even when she told him he was lukewarm, if you can't be exited after all that chasing you're just a dick IMO. Not very realistic I felt that one minute he's desperate for her and the next he's almost pushing her away. Such a boring story.

TortolaParadise · 20/02/2025 21:35

burblish · 20/02/2025 21:08

I don't think there is any scope of a Michelle return in any event - unfortunately for the actress in question, NuChelle went down like a lead balloon with viewers when they tried to bring the character back some years ago. I wonder what excuses they will come up with for her, Vicky and Mark Jr all missing Martin's funeral, though. Oh, and Bex - they will have to find an excuse for her missing her dad's funeral and the birth of her new baby half-sister.

Arthur, Pauline and Lou flashbacks! OleChelle flashback with doof doof and original credits/theme tune!

the80sweregreat · 20/02/2025 21:35

The paramedic was nice
He seemed to hesitate at one stage and I could feel Stacey staring at him a bit as if to say ' get on with it '!

Also I agree with this, that monitor and the medical stuff were a joke!

ColinRobinsonsFart · 20/02/2025 21:36

So

Who will inherit/run the fruit and veg stall?

It was legally Martin's wasn't it?

She looked quite strange and not at all like Michelle 😭

DH just said Stacey literally talked Martin to death!

Too soon DH, too soon! 🤭

Why didn't Pauline return from the grave, à la Ange, and tell Martin to step away from the light...........

She died irl 🥺

She also was apparently very unpopular among the cast

Even when her character died, the Mitchell's were laughing at her, which I thought was so disrespectful

2old4thisshit · 20/02/2025 21:44

mumofoneAlonebutokay · 20/02/2025 20:19

Two funny moments

Bianca chucking sonia's knickers back at lauren

Ian apparently going to grab his cup with his shot hand 🤭

Yes! Noticed Ian’s hand and he suddenly remembered and stopped himself.
the funniest thing was Bianca throwing them behind her knickers to Lauren and for some reason she brought them to her nose and then threw them behind her.

Shellingbynight · 20/02/2025 21:50

Why didn't Pauline return from the grave, à la Ange, and tell Martin to step away from the light...........

Tricky, when Wendy is dead!

I enjoyed tonight’s episode and thought the cast all did really well. But Stacey really did talk Martin to death. If she’d got out last night when he told her to none of that would have happened. I bet that is never mentioned!

I read Martin's 'goodbye interview' and reading between the lines it looks like it was not James' choice. Good luck to him because I think he’s a really limited actor. And he wasn’t much to write home about on Strictly, he was pleasant but a bit devoid of personality. I think he'll be on a tour of every reality show now.

Tiredofallthis101 · 20/02/2025 21:55

Just reading people's comments on the thread and realising there are actually very few characters worth watching any more. I like Patrick and Yolande (though they're side characters most of the time), Phil, Nigel, Linda and Stacey. I genuinely think if the rest of the characters blew up in the Vic all at once I couldn't care less. It really feels like potentially interesting characters have just been made so one dimensional and dull.

VivienneDelacroix · 20/02/2025 21:57

Lacey Turner really carried that. She puts the rest of the cast to shame usually, but was particularly incredible tonight. James Bye did match her tonight, but I think he was probably pulled into her energy. They absolutely relied on her tonight.

When you compare to others who really should be far better it's embarrassing really. Adam Woodyat has literally played the same part for 40 years and yet was wooden as a bed post tonight, Nat Cass (I do love her) was awful too.

Edited

Wendy Richards I'm sure was a pain in the arse to work with. There was an anecdote where she refused to play a scene with Pauline sweeping the front step of the launderette because "Pauline Fowler doesn't sweep steps".

the80sweregreat · 20/02/2025 22:03

Wendy Richard was a victim of DA in real life and had a very unhappy life
I'm sure she was difficult on set, but maybe there was a lot going on there too.

Sick of stacey but its true, the episode relied on her

Mad as she's a few weeks post partum as well, that's impressive

Oh wow, didn't know that - but tbf, does pauline fowler sweep? 😭

There were a few references to her being a 'battleaxe' when she died, after her funeral, again from the Mitchell's and some others - it all felt ,personal*

So sad 😞

Although she was a tory.

Apparently she hated being married again to Joe, or whatever his name was (in 2006) - but i kind of agreed, she'd never remarry after Arthur

Southeastdweller · 20/02/2025 22:12

Natalie Cassidy, Adam Woodyatt and Letitia Dean have said that Wendy Richard was like a second mum to them. Poor Wendy's exit was so bad - she wanted to leave, but didn't want Pauline to be killed off and before then she was given a stupid story about lying to her family about having a brain tumour, both - the rumour goes - because the then exec producer wanted revenge as Wendy spoke out how ridiculous it was about Pauline remarrying.

i can’t believe Martin is dead, I’ve had a proper sob but like a previous poster said, why did she stop them leaving, guess it’s the script but that was a sad watch.

Season 6 Ugh GIF by Parks and Recreation

And not only that but she had already survived cancer irl...

What kind of twisted dickhead makes an actress who's survived cancer play a character lying about cancer 🙄🙄

I can see her being a second mum on set - a bossy one yeah, but still

I'm even getting pissed off typing this
