I didn't like Sonia's voice over. Why is she the new Dot?
This whole mess is her fault

Yes. Lacey is a really believable actress

Sonia is going out of it , so the 'new Dot' will be Yolande. She was getting into that slot tonight with the preying.

Yes Lacey, James, Patsy and Steve have really carried this week.
Was nice that Phil made an appearance tonight. I didn't see Grant or Nigel and I think Sharon and Cindy were both in Walford general

I haven't watched eastenders in about 20 years so apologies for diving in after watching tonight's episode with a random question

If they knew lifting the stuff off of Martin's legs would cause the toxins to be released why didn't they amputate? Would this be the 'correct' thing to do in real life?

( haven't actually watched it since Martin was played by the other guy )

Yes i know Sonia is leaving. Quite a few are, we are gonna be left with nugget and jumpers

They’d have done an on scene amputation in casualty I expect 🤣

I will never watch EE again. Why couldn't they let Martin and Stacey live happily ever after 😭

I didn't mind her little speech tbh but I've never liked her character much and yes, it is all her fault it happened at all!

I'm having a break from it, it's annoyed me too much. I stuck around for the 40th (and to see Bianca be freed) but it's been a let down. There's also no characters or stories I'm interested in. I may pick it back up at christmas, depending on what the christmas story is this year

Oh well, I hope that the Martin actor finds lots of new projects or reality shows and has a happy life. He seems personable enough and I can see him in the jungle !

I'm watching eastenders behind the scenes - they've got footage of julia and tony, it's good, better than joe swash's show

Agree with this! This is how they did it before, live interviews etc on bbc3 straight after.

They should have given Sonia a biro and a pair of cuticle snips - she would've single-handedly saved Martin AND given birth to the toddler baby!!

Even if James wanted to leave, they could have re cast. Martin has been played by a few actors. They could have sent Stacey, Martin and the cupboard kids off to recover/celebrate with his sister Michelle. That would have sorted Lacey's maternity and given chance to find a new Martin.
Sonia, Cindy or Ruby could have been the death, as I think they are all leaving aswell

I actually don't mind they killed Martin off. Imo he's often felt like a part time character for a few years now.
Also no marriage can ever be happy in soaps.
Yes maybe a re cast if the actor wanted to leave and also that means no chance of Michelle coming back now I guess.
But I just didn't care about the current Martin anymore.

Me too! I think we should have a national day of mourning in aid of Martin Fowler!🤣

I don't think there is any scope of a Michelle return in any event - unfortunately for the actress in question, NuChelle went down like a lead balloon with viewers when they tried to bring the character back some years ago. I wonder what excuses they will come up with for her, Vicky and Mark Jr all missing Martin's funeral, though. Oh, and Bex - they will have to find an excuse for her missing her dad's funeral and the birth of her new baby half-sister.
