Could Jumpers know that he's not Barney's real dad?

Also, could Jumpers (the actor) be an excellent actor and that's why we all thought he was a terrible? He's been playing the character slightly off to potray a person who is desperately trying to hide their real self.

I've never seen the actor in anything before though and he's not exactly young...

the80sweregreat · 12/03/2025 21:20

I don't know the actors name who plays jumpers , but he was in a gangster film with Danny dyer and played a character called ' Zederbee ' apparently
( might have spelt that wrong)

storminabuttercup · 12/03/2025 21:20

Also check jumpers in real life

He's 45

Which I get is possible but still

storminabuttercup · 12/03/2025 21:21

Oh I'm in a rabbit hole now, Nicola (actress is 41)

the80sweregreat · 12/03/2025 21:21

He was with Nicola as a young teen , so had children young I assume.

storminabuttercup · 12/03/2025 21:22

Sorry Nicola is 44

Alucard55 · 12/03/2025 21:29

Rabbit hole also.

Barney actor
Aged 12, he took Mensa International's acceptance test and passed, meaning his IQ is above 132 and that he is in the top 2% of the world's population

Shellingbynight · 12/03/2025 21:31

@Alucard55 I was wondering the same about Jumpers knowing he is not Barney's dad.

I did think the actor was a lot better at portraying 'angry/violent' than he has been at smiley jumper man. So you could be right and the actor is okay, I guess we will find out as time goes on (he's inevitably going to get more scenes being angry!)

Alucard55 · 12/03/2025 21:34

Yes that scene when he hugged Barney it seemed like he was aware of something?

TortolaParadise · 12/03/2025 22:02

cramptramp · 11/03/2025 10:51

I think the actress who plays Nicola is good. I think she looks hard as nails and I'd be scared if I bumped into her in the pub loos.

Yes, she reminds me of Shirley.

Both my kids have done this Mensa test at school around the same age and scored 152 (top 2%) and 158 (top 1%)!

the80sweregreat · 13/03/2025 06:59

Lewis Bridgeman ( Barney ) sounds a lovely young man and obviously clever too.

Snapespeare · 13/03/2025 09:34

Enjoyable today - Patsy playing drunk is a delight..

Whatever Jumpers does , it was enough to buy Gray's old place easily enough and that is the biggest place on the square and worth a lot of money.

And a complete instant re-decoration of the house !

If Dots house is worth a million+ then Teddy's House ....I cannot even guess .
Three storeys ) basement converted flat /ground floor/first floor )
When it was Dr Leggs house there was an OSP bay but maybe that has been swallowed up ?

Phil was always a git from the start , him and Grant getting into fights over women or deals .
But his true colours showed in the scene where Jamie didn't tell him Lisa was leaving with Louise and Phil kicked Seven Shades out of him.
When it comes to violence on the Square , you could see Zac's violent attack coming .

They really trowelled on the "I'm your Dad" bit from Teddy to Barney ......... (Ermmmm maybe you aren't ) Shock

the80sweregreat · 13/03/2025 10:09

The violence has always been there, but they used to take the cameras away from the worst of it. This week it's been shown in its entirety.
( or maybe I just don't remember a lot of it that well!)
Phil has always been quick to have a go at people , the entire Mitchell stock are all really messed up and just use their fists first most of the time.

Shellingbynight · 13/03/2025 10:12

I wonder if they showed the violence to make the point about both Teddy and Nicola being absolutely ruthless (and one or both of them being killers). I think the Teddy scene had to be shown graphically to reveal his true character - but we already pretty much knew how bad Nic was!

PeggyMitchellsCameo · 13/03/2025 10:17

I don’t like Jumpers or Nicola or their muscly son. Don’t care what happens to them and that’s bad news in a soap.
Bianca is such a fantastic character and always has been. She has so many shades to her.
Kaff and Harv - I can understand the attraction but it’s almost like a MN thread. Jean, lost all her money, left with a ton of responsibilities, partner keeps bogging off when she needs support, whilst he’s off preparing Shit Sandwiches darnnnn the allotment.
It is odd the way the whole Knight family have lost the Vic and it’s not discussed at all. What state it’s in or what’s happening to it.

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 13/03/2025 10:20

There were signs that Gray wasn't as perfect as he seemed - good job, educated, , devoted to his DC, bought the house so Chantelle could be near her parents .....then there was a FunRun Race for charity that turned out nasty after he felt belittled by Chantelle ( she said something like "Oh don't worry you came 2nd , you did your best" ) and he violently assaulted her .
When you look back he was always controlling .

Southeastdweller · 13/03/2025 10:21

It certainly is a but like a MN thread, thus Kathy and Harvey and Jean story. I can imagine Jean posting but failing to mention (or not having the self-awareness) that half of the time she treats him like dirt. So who can blame him for looking elsewhere.

That's how I feel about it too. Very nice that Harvey had all day to contemplate Martin's sandwiches, meanwhile Jean is doing all the donkey work with the family and planning the funeral. To be fair he was at least trying to offer something helpful on this occasion - but it was the only time so I can see why Jean wasn't listening.

WinterBones · 13/03/2025 10:27

Teddy has always come across as a bit of a spiv, and they have ALWAYS had their dangerous side on the quiet.

I think last night was an interesting development in his character/history.. he's always had that side eye about him that came across as someone with a vicious undercurrent running just under the slimey, disingenuous whiny smiley façade he puts on.

Shellingbynight · 13/03/2025 10:44

South I think MN would tear Harvey to shreds regardless😄If Harvey had pulled his weight rather than doing daft things like buying football tickets and wrecking shirts, Jean might look a bit more kindly on him.

the80sweregreat · 13/03/2025 10:44

Maybe Teddy's acting will get better now we know his a murderer and not the nice gangster we thought he might be.
Nicola was such a cow to Sonia :(
Bianca made me laugh though.
Kathy and Harvey. It'll end in tears 😭

the80sweregreat · 13/03/2025 10:53

I'd happily let Kathy eat the brisket if I was Harvey's partner. Worst meat ever and I was on his side for ages at one point. 😆
Now they will be sneaking around trying not to get caught out by half the square.
They are both single ( I assume Kathy is now divorced from Rocky ? ) so why not come clean ? Although maybe leave it till after the funeral which should be soon. That has taken more time to arrange than the late Queens one was.
Seems Tommy is talking to a chat bot then. I got that wrong
