The White Lotus - series three - starts February 17th

The Emmy-award winning HBO original series, which offers an inside look at the powerful and wealthy as they navigate complex personal dynamics and face potentially dangerous experiences while on vacation, returns for its third season this month.

"Seeking peace can be a trip," reads the tagline for this season, which was created, written and directed by former "Survivor" contestant Mike White.
This time around, viewers will be whisked away to an "exclusive" resort in Thailand, where an eclectic group of guests and resort employees will play, and likely misbehave, over the span of a week. "The White Lotus" Season 3 guests include a wealthy businessman and his family, three longtime friends who haven't seen each other in a while on a girls' trip and "rugged man with a chip on his shoulder" and his girlfriend, among others.

Anyone else looking forward to this? Starts on Monday and will be shown on Now and Sky. No watching on demand as all episodes will be dropped weekly.

Another underwhelming episode this week. I found myself getting distracted with thoughts of "Isn't it nice Sam Rockwell is in it, he must have had a nice holiday with his partner Leslie Bibb (Kate) "and "Jason Isaacs needs to lay off the hair dye because he's started to look a bit silly".

Yawn (apart from Lachlan kissing Saxon and a glimpse of Valentin's tremendous arsenal). I don't know if I buy Rick's friend''s backstory of being a lady girl and getting fucked by loads of men.

I’m really not enjoying this series. Watched the new one this morning and aside from the Lady boy skit I thought it was very predictable. It’s boring. Nothing to catch my attention so far.

I'm just sorting of waiting for it to get to the point.

It's just not comedic enough for me - I have no/little sympathy for the characters.
It's too claustrophobic - I know that's the point.
It's supposedly portraying hedonism but it's not quite hedonistic enough.
I'm not sure where the threats are coming from/going to end.

I have to agree with this, reluctantly as I loved the first 2 series.

Going to a full moon party and leaving before daylight to go back to your boat with 2 odd guys is just not realistic. Same with the women and the Russians, nothing there was particularly shocking to gen X ex ravers.

It's trying a bit too hard to be 'shocking hedonism' I feel, although possibly the real extent is hidden to the viewer at this point.

Even Rick's mate. Fucked up as it is, every single workplace I've worked in has had the 'slightly creepy middle aged white guy obsessed with Asian girls and spending every holiday in Thailand but are actually in denial about being gay guy'.

I think it’s pretty unusual for closet cases to put lingerie on (and probably other stuff - Rick’s friend told Rick he made himself look like “one of those girls”).

A disappointing episode I thought - preferred last weeks when things seemed to be heating up but not much happened again.
