The Emmy-award winning HBO original series, which offers an inside look at the powerful and wealthy as they navigate complex personal dynamics and face potentially dangerous experiences while on vacation, returns for its third season this month.

"Seeking peace can be a trip," reads the tagline for this season, which was created, written and directed by former "Survivor" contestant Mike White.
This time around, viewers will be whisked away to an "exclusive" resort in Thailand, where an eclectic group of guests and resort employees will play, and likely misbehave, over the span of a week. "The White Lotus" Season 3 guests include a wealthy businessman and his family, three longtime friends who haven't seen each other in a while on a girls' trip and "rugged man with a chip on his shoulder" and his girlfriend, among others.

Anyone else looking forward to this? Starts on Monday and will be shown on Now and Sky. No watching on demand as all episodes will be dropped weekly.

agree 1&2 good - 3 wasn’t

Interesting, I'm also finding it slow but espisode 3 picked up for me.
I'm not that interested in saxon or his family or the 3 friends.
I'm extremely interested in the guy who said his dad was murdered, I'm sure his wanting to find the man in bangcock is related to this.
Maybe he is a hit man he says he's done bad stuff.
I do think he deeply loves his gf she's a ray of sun in his dark life. I think we will see him wanting revenge but his therapy will help him move past that.
For me season 2 was sensational by a country mile I loved most of the characters and the scenery was jaw dropping.

I think what I want now is more interaction amongst the so far discrete groups. Mook only speaks to Gaitok; the three friends only speak to each other and Valentin; apart from desperate Saxon, the Ratliffs barely seem aware that anyone else exists …

There has to be a reason why all these characters have been placed in one space together - and I imagine the story will only click into activity once they start tumbling over one another.

But I don’t want to waste this beautiful sunny weekend longing for Monday!

I'm loving the theories. DH is away and I've said I'll wait but I might catch up and then just pretend I haven't seen them...

I'm happy to hear it's 8 episodes; I don't mind series taking their time, as long as all the build-up does actually come to something.

It was slightly better this week because I’m invested in the Greg story now that Belinda has found out he was wanted for questioning about Tanya’s death so there’s going to be trouble for her and her son when he visits.

Otherwise - Jaclyn, Kate and Laurie were caught in a water gun crowd ‘shooting’ which was as funny as toothache, and Timothy found out he’ll be going to jail for embezzlement so him and his family are going to be broke. Big yawn.

Ooh I enjoyed that episode & feel like suddenly the sense of foreboding and danger has escalated hugely.

The people on the yacht seem to be sailing towards danger.

Rick is flying towards danger in a hyped up mood.

The Ratliff couple are about to have a bomb explode in their lives and he is very well aware of it, she is clueless.

Belinda is being watched by Greg/Gary and we all know what he is capable of.

And the 3 friends and their new friends? It was quite malicious of Valentin to take them to that place where he must have known they would be pelted with water pistols and wouldn’t enjoy it. Especially as Queen Bee couldn’t even cope with another luxurious pool area just because the other guests were slightly less rich. I think the new male “friends” may be about as genuine as the ones Jennifer Coolidge made in Season 2!

It’s Monday. I have so much to watch - will try this tomorrow as Mondays 9pm is busy 😂

TheGlamour · 10/03/2025 18:18

Wasn’t it the fact they were all elderly that was the issue? Jaclyn felt insulted that Valentin had mentally grouped them under ‘Old People’. And disappointed because to her ‘fun’ meant ‘young’. Like her strangely AWOL younger partner / husband who can’t be reached on the phone. (I guess it could just have been that the hotel they visited had been overrun with an elderly group and Valentin didn’t know that?)

And yes - Gaitok really is as stupid as he claimed to be. Even more, in fact.

I’m not ruling out the possibility of a monkey getting hold of that gun. Timothy isn’t exactly in a fit state to keep a close eye on it.

Mook … Gaitok will have a lucky escape there. So much smiling would drive one demented.

At least this episode brought some variety.

Edited

I think it was as much to do with wealth as age - though both were unattractive to Queen Bee. She didn’t like it when the other woman she was chatting to by the pool said she wanted to visit the White Lotus resort but couldn’t get in as she wasn’t rich enough.

thatsnotmynamebruh · 10/03/2025 18:37

How have people seen it already?

TheGlamour · 10/03/2025 18:39

It’s on NOW TV. Could have watched from midnight I think, but I was asleep.

(Every time I think of cancelling my subscription they find a way to make me stay …)

thatsnotmynamebruh · 10/03/2025 18:42

Ahh ok, I watch on Max

RosaMoline · 10/03/2025 21:04

I can’t get over how much Rick reminds me of a younger Jack Nicholson. I’m actually finding it quite distracting!
….is it just me?!

Now you say it I can see it.

RosaMoline · 10/03/2025 21:10

Oh and an honourable mention to that prolonged glimpse of Jason Isaac’s willy. Now, I was not expecting that.

curiositykilledthiscat · 10/03/2025 21:11

Whenever Lochlan is in scenes all I can see is the actor’s mum, Emily Mortimer.

I wondered if it was really his tackle or a prosthetic, might have to rewatch 🥴

Loved episode 4 esp as we have stayed in the hotel they used for the hotel with "old people". It's also used for all the Reception scenes and the Jewellery store! It's called Anantara Bophut.

RosaMoline · 11/03/2025 07:36

I have a new theory:
Mook is involved in the massacre we already know takes place. Look how she’s leading Gaitok on & distracting him.
Tim taking the gun is a red herring.
