The White Lotus - series three - starts February 17th

The Emmy-award winning HBO original series, which offers an inside look at the powerful and wealthy as they navigate complex personal dynamics and face potentially dangerous experiences while on vacation, returns for its third season this month.

"Seeking peace can be a trip," reads the tagline for this season, which was created, written and directed by former "Survivor" contestant Mike White.
This time around, viewers will be whisked away to an "exclusive" resort in Thailand, where an eclectic group of guests and resort employees will play, and likely misbehave, over the span of a week. "The White Lotus" Season 3 guests include a wealthy businessman and his family, three longtime friends who haven't seen each other in a while on a girls' trip and "rugged man with a chip on his shoulder" and his girlfriend, among others.

Anyone else looking forward to this? Starts on Monday and will be shown on Now and Sky. No watching on demand as all episodes will be dropped weekly.

I've literally just been reading some tweets about it during my lunch break! Viewers implying that something happened between a certain couple, but the two actors have unfollowed each other in the last few days? I think Jason Isaacs alluded to relationships forming and then falling apart during filming. I'm sure 7 months away filming in Thailand makes it a very intense experience 😳

I dont think that's true (I hope not anyway) as Walton Goggins wife and son were with him in Thailand on the set and they are best friends with Leslie Bibb and Sam Rockwell who are also on the show. Seems very unlikely they would be conducting an affair under those circumstances. Leslie and Aimee became good friends as well which I don't think would happen if she was fucking her best friends husband. I saw an interview recently where Walton was saying how much he loved Aimee Lou as a person but it was said in a very easy and platonic way.

I just watched the finale and absolutely loved it, I feel like Mike White redeemed himself and I now want to watch the whole series again.

So many good things about it. I loved that the 3 women ended up as friends again at the end, that was unexpected. That underneath the bitching they genuinely loved each other warts and all.

And that Saxon was sitting quietly on the boat at the end reading a book … maybe Chelsea’s friendship will have had a long lasting positive effect on him.

And the scene at the end showing the superficial life of Chloe & Greg … nothing touches them and they don’t care about anything including each other. Just a transactional relationship unlike … sob 😢

She visited WG in Thailand, she didn't stay there for ages - none of the cast's families did (from what I've read). A quick google tells me that him and Aimee have unfollowed each other on Instagram. But who knows what happened.

He's just posted lots of photos of them together on his IG and said some lovely things about her so 🤷‍♀️. Feel sorry for his wife and child if people are just wildly speculating

I think the Ratcliffe family storyline was the most anti climactic. Especially when they didn't kill any of them off. I honestly thought one would have an epiphany and stay in Thailand (perhaps the Dad or Saxon).

Mook didn't get much to do in the end, I thought her role might expand in the last few episodes but I think she only interacted with Gaitok throughout.

I did like Carrie Coon's scene, she's a great actress.

Gaitok was far too good for Mook. Her obsession with toxic masculinity, trying to make him change and forgo all of his principles to be with her.

Shame we didn't see Victoria Ratliffs reaction to them losing their money 😀

That was the point I think, in the same way she told Saxon not to worry about shagging her as there won't be any difficulty finding someone else. Saxon realised in that moment just how shallow she was. Remember on the boat she said to Chelsea she has a really good thing going with Gary - of course she does, he's loaded?!

Carrie Coon is brilliant, I watched a film with her recently called "His three daughters" and she was excellent in that too.

It’s so true that they played it safe with the K-pop star’s role. Did we ever see her doing any work? Don’t recall her interacting with any of the guests at all, or even the other staff, apart from Gaitok.

The three friends were also hermetically sealed off from everyone not Russian. It was odd.

I’ve never stayed at such a place - is it the nature of the very luxurious and separated accommodation that guests don’t interact, or is that just the nature of being filthy rich?

Are we meant to assume that Chloe had repeated her ‘revelation’ about Greg/Garry’s proclivities many times in the past - and that that was why she spent so much time at the resort; to pick up guys for the performances?

I don’t see the appeal of Walton Goggins but I haven’t seen him in anything else so maybe it’s just the character that I find v unattractive. I know it’s the makeup but his skin looked painfully tanned. Also I have fancied some awful fictional characters but I am judging all those who fancy Gary! The man is a charisma black hole and v sinister.

I felt Jason Isaacs was a bit wasted here. He mainly wandered around looking out of it.

I've loved Walton Goggins in everything he's done. He was amazing in The Shield, Justified and Sons of Anarchy. I think he's become more attractive with age and is in great shape. Loved seeing his scenes with Sam Rockwell

There weren’t many doable actors / characters in this at all. Gary, Saxon and Valentin…that’s it.

I'm happy Lachlan came back to life, feel sad for Aimee.

Surprised the family on the boat were so relaxed considering there was a shooting on the hotel site the same day!

I just don't understand why Rick went back to the hotel? He knows Jim was dodgy and had armed body guards, he should have called Chelsea and told her to grab her things and leave the night he went over to Jim's. The father reveal was anticlimactic as I think everyone guessed he was the dad almost immediately.

I was waiting for this episode to kick up a gear or do something unexpected but it I don't think it did. As soon as Tim chucked the drinks but left the blender unrinsed I knew someone was going to drink it...I have lazy teenage boys but I still don't think they would use such a dirty blender without at least rinsing it. I still enjoyed it and CC speech made me well up but I just wanted a bit more.

I would 100% watch a Ratcliffe spin off!

When Chelsea said a few episodes ago that her and rick are yin and yang and they're floating in the water the same shape as the yin/yang with bullet holes in the same places.
