The White Lotus - series three - starts February 17th

The Emmy-award winning HBO original series, which offers an inside look at the powerful and wealthy as they navigate complex personal dynamics and face potentially dangerous experiences while on vacation, returns for its third season this month.

"Seeking peace can be a trip," reads the tagline for this season, which was created, written and directed by former "Survivor" contestant Mike White.
This time around, viewers will be whisked away to an "exclusive" resort in Thailand, where an eclectic group of guests and resort employees will play, and likely misbehave, over the span of a week. "The White Lotus" Season 3 guests include a wealthy businessman and his family, three longtime friends who haven't seen each other in a while on a girls' trip and "rugged man with a chip on his shoulder" and his girlfriend, among others.

Anyone else looking forward to this? Starts on Monday and will be shown on Now and Sky. No watching on demand as all episodes will be dropped weekly.

I honestly thought one would have an epiphany and stay in Thailand (perhaps the Dad or Saxon).

I think Saxon had an epiphany of sorts & he grew from who he was portrayed as at the start whereas Meg (?) didn't have any substance despite her seeming to be the enlightened one.

The hotties of the series were Saxon and Valentin (and Kate, if we’re talking girl crushes). Rick’s leathery skin and massive bald patch rule him out.

I have developed a bit of a crush on Walton 😮 . He has rizz as the kids say.

I only just found this thread and it seems I'm not alone in my thinking.

I was really underwhelmed at the end, but as I sat here thinking about it, lots of things fell into place.

Chelsea - how she was sure she could fix, change and help Rick and ultimately that choice ended her. I don't even think Rick liked her that much, he seemed to just tolerate her. And the scene with Saxon in the last episode, it was obvious that she changed something in him and she didn't get to see it. It made my think just how important your choices are in life really.

Then the wealth side, it didn't take Belinda even a day.

I don't think we needed to see the Radcliffes reactions as we just know the girls would not fare well at all, Piper, like her mother and won't cope well.

Yes Piper turned out to be just like her mum and couldn't enjoy one day of living in a simpler way, even by choice. It doesn't bode well for how easy she is going to find it to adapt to being poor.

Re Belinda leaving Thailand ... I can't say I blame her. I would be scared to be living in the same place as Greg though it was a shame it bought her romance to an end. Maybe they exchanged contact details and will reunite somewhere else away from Greg!

What did everyone think about Lochlan saying he wanked off his brother as he was just a people pleaser and he didn't want Saxon to be left out? His behaviour that evening and during the morning didn't reflect that, he seemed more self assured than before the incident, remember everyone commented even his posture was different. Did he actually have a revelation monastery, I feel like he became quite a sinister character until this last episode.

That whole thing was weird and not integral to the plot ... we didn't need to see it (in my opinion).

It made Lochlan's character confusing because at times he seemed so innocent but not over that issue.

Although I may have subconsciously guessed that Chelsea would be the one i will carry that as a badge of honour for all of eternity 😳 I just knew that her time was up when Rick got all lovey dovey with her. You just know when someone's life is going to fall apart just when it all finally comes together at last.

I enjoyed the episode but I do think it’s very different to the previous two seasons in that the deaths in those, while sad/tragic, were faintly ridiculous (and even humorous) in the lead up. This was just quite dark, with no light to balance it out.

I agree with this. I laughed a lot more at the absurdity of the first two deaths of the previous seasons , even if I loved the characters .
But I also love that the different seasons have their own vibe, like with the episodes of Black Mirror, dark followed by slightly uplifting followed by thought provoking etc.

I’ve had a ‘mare of a day avoiding spoilers on insta (I follow most of the cast) & trying not to click on this thread! 😂😬

I love Pornchai (you can keep your Saxons and Ricks!) - I was genuinely heartbroken for him…💔
As a person that works in the funeral business, can I just say the bodies would NOT be taken on the plane like that? They would be in coffins. I assume they were taking them for a postmortem to another place outside of the resort. Once repatriated, they would be embalmed & flown back home in a zinc lined coffin.

I enjoyed this season but probably would have liked it more if I hadn't seen the previous seasons. This was missing the ridiculousness and hilarity!

I agree with others that it was underwhelming, I liked Chelsea but we had no real backstory so I didn’t feel emotionally invested enough to care that much.

Agree. The time that was wasted on a pointless incest storyline could have been better spent on developing Chelsea’s character a bit more (not just in relation to Rick) and also Mrs Ratliff ( Victoria?) because she had comic potential but we didn’t see her enough.
