A TV version of the Danny Robins podcast.
Is anyone watching?

Yes, I love Uncanny. It's completely daft, and I don't believe any of it, but I really enjoy it. Love the podcast too.

Same here, very gentle, ridiculous, engaging and enjoyable.

'Do you believe in ghosts'
No
'Do you think you saw a ghost'
Yes

Lol

I love it! Always loved the Podcast. Saw it live in Norwich a couple of years ago , it was very entertaining

witchycat2 · 31/01/2025 21:53

It is entertaining isn't it. There's an Uncanny 'post mortem' programme on at 10pm too.

Bloody loved it. Especially Danny’s Alan Partridge moment in the wind tunnel 💨💨😫💨💨

BraveStarr · 31/01/2025 22:16

Really enjoyed it (the wind tunnel was brilliant Grin)

Some good jump scares too!

Norugratsatall · 31/01/2025 22:39

It seemed vaguely familiar, is it a repeat? Very enjoyable though...

piscofrisco · 31/01/2025 22:54

Loved it. The wind tunnel! Grin Danny is 49 but dresses like a toddler, love him!

Justleaveitblankthen · 31/01/2025 23:03

Yes, love it 😍
Someone on here once asked why he dresses like a toddler and I always remember that when I see him 😂
Resplendent with mini backpack for his butty box..

LunaNorth · 01/02/2025 07:58

After watching him in the wind tunnel, I hope the toddler wardrobe extends to pull-ups.

This is the second series, the stories aren't repeated

I love it!

So frustrating they couldn't actually go to the farm. Surely they could have negotiated something with the developers. That's the point to it being on the TV rather than radio -to see the location!

the80sweregreat · 01/02/2025 16:05

I am surprised that the family didn't go to the cemetery or try to investigate the background to the house and grounds at the library or something like that. Maybe they were so busy or didn't think it would help ?

KimberleyClark · 01/02/2025 16:22

Not a believer but I did find the bit about the orphanage being run by nuns very upsetting.

the80sweregreat · 01/02/2025 16:28

Wasn't surprised it was about Nuns :(
They were awful back then to children and it's been well documented how they treated people back then.
Watch a film called the ' Magdalena laundries ' set in Ireland during the 50s and 60s. They were just so cruel to anyone pregnant and not married too.

Screamingabdabz · 02/02/2025 01:08

I love this type of thing but it’s all a bit drawn out isn’t it? There a thousand questions I’d ask before doing that stupid wind experiment.

What kid is waking up Christmas morning and opening a present by themselves and sitting there setting up a PlayStation? And it went cold? It was the early hours, the heating probably wasn’t on! Washing milk bottles by hand? In a barn? ‘Banging’ from the bedrooms…?

Oh ffs…Come on!

I would also want to check for sources of infrasound, which is known to cause feelings of unease and seeing things out of the corner of your eye.

The red toddler style coat is a reference to the psychological horror Don’t Look Now about a couple mourning the death of their young child who drowned in a red raincoat.

I’ve been a fan since The Battersea Poltergeist. Really enjoyed 2:22 on the stage. Apparently it was researching the play that got Danny Robins interested in the supernatural. I’m a sceptic but thoroughly enjoy the discussions around how and why things go bump in the night.

KimberleyClark · 02/02/2025 11:20

It was The Witch Farm that got me interested. Fantastic stuff even for non believer. Have listened to it several times.

the80sweregreat · 02/02/2025 11:24

Ds2 said he dresses like a toddler !
I think he looks ok tbh

Every time! I love it though.

saltandvinegarchipsticks · 02/02/2025 11:27

I like Danny Robins, he’s so enthusiastic it’s contagious.
The toddler comparison is funny though. I thought he just looks like someone who was well into Britpop in the 90s and has held on to the look.

i don’t believe a word of it either but they’re entertaining stories.

suburburban · 02/02/2025 15:21

I like watching it, agree about the Brit pop look

MidnightBloom · 02/02/2025 15:43

I watched on Friday evening and really enjoyed. The orphanage and nuns were truly heartbreaking. The families story about the boy was far fetched for me though. Liam said he wasn't aware of the orphanage or graves in a small village like that, I find that hard to believe.

I remember reading somewhere that a TV adaptation of The Battersea Poltergeist was in the offing. That would be amazing!
