I hope Minah goes far now

WatchOutMissMarpleIsAbout · 25/01/2025 05:48

I wonder how the contestants view themselves after watching the edits.

Eg Freddie, Minah, Alexander, Linda come off well

Charlotte, Joe, Leanne come off badly

I just wonder what they think.

Leanne made a comment on Instagram or TikTok about how you don’t see everything. She got slaughtered for it. Charlotte had to restrict comments on her Instagram after Minah was banished.

I’m happy to chat on here about what I think but I wouldn’t ever comment on any contestants social media in a negative way. We only see an edited selection of what they’ve said so there’s no need for that. I do think that might be why they were so positive towards Joe on the final Uncloaked as well.

Fridayfridaycatsandblamange · 25/01/2025 06:08

I agree, all of the contestants really liked Joe and commented on what a big personality he had and how much he would be missed. All we saw was that he was a bit whiny and didn’t do much.

i thought Leanne came across really well on Uncloaked last night and both she and Alexander said they’d got on. I think she is deserving of the money because she actually sounds like it would make a huge difference in her life.

She was really good in the tasks but was a bit outspoken at times. We’ve all done that but she on
national tv.

People on here calling her ‘chavvy’ and commenting on her class and way she dresses is just crappy. She wasn’t even who I wanted to win but the level of vitriol on here is ridiculous.

CloseYourRingStress · 25/01/2025 06:10

I think you’d have to be tough enough not to care @WatchOutMissMarpleIsAbout .

Social media is brutal, you’d have to be tough enough to not let it bother you.

Fridayfridaycatsandblamange · 25/01/2025 06:14

Also same thing happened on here last year when Harry won and people lost their shit. Mollie seems like a great person but Harry was such a deserving and entertaining winner and if traitors was just 25 sweet people who didn’t want to do anything to offend or double cross anyone it would be a very dull show.

WinterCosiness · 25/01/2025 06:23

Re feeling sorry for the players. I can find something in all of them to go 'aww' at at some point!

I'm really way too sensitive for The Traitors.

Unpopular opinion, but I actually now feel a little sorry for Charlotte (sorry 🫣)
I didn't want her to win (#TeamAlexander here!) but all the hate she's getting online (including on Mumsnet) is uncalled for and unpleasant. It was a game. They all wanted to win , and all came to the table with a different collection of life experiences, and we can't know their circumstances or backgrounds. We don't know the full story or the context.

With Charlotte, I absolutely didn't want her to win, mostly because I felt so sorry for Freddie. But, I can feel sorry for both of them! I'm also never pro Traitor. Buuut, I do get how the seer twist was massively frustrating and upsetting for her. She obviously really wanted to win. Maybe she desperately needed the money and thought it was her only chance? Who knows? I also didn't like her apparent lack of grace towards Frankie on that last round table. I was shocked by some of her comments. But, on reflection, I genuinely don't think her motivation was anything other than trying to win and deflect from herself. She was panicking I reckon, and probably hoped she still could persuade the others. She was put in a very difficult situation. She was too ruthless for me, all the good traitors are; but, she was playing the game to win, and the hate feels a bit like a witch hunt.

Re Leanne, again the edit. Though I confess she was the player I warmed to the least, I can't join in with the hate. It is just a game, and she might be very different in a different context.

Joe the same. Obviously he didn't win, so that's probably taken the pressure off.

Anyway, I choose to believe that in a parallel universe Alexander, Freddie and Lisa won together as faithfuls! 😊

I agree. She was the best player and came across as the nicest person.

Yeah. I didn’t like Joe from what I saw but the people who were spending a lot of time with him seemed to really like him so I assume they know better than me. I wish they’d shown more of his funny side that everyone else saw!

In terms of deserving, I don’t think it matters. They know the game, we as viewers know the game, if they can win it then they deserve it. I don’t always like the winners but they’ve always won it fair and square according to the rules of the game. Any issues with the rules of the game are against the producers, not the contestants. Whoever wins deserves to have won, whether I wanted them to or not.

Personal attacks are uncalled for. Leanne isn’t chavvy or stupid or evil or classless or anything else she’s been accused of. She played a game and she won. I wish her the best of luck with her IVF.

I would also LOVE to see Minah on more things going forward. She was a brilliant contestant and could do so well in lots of media formats. I hope we haven’t seen the last of her, she was fantastic!

CloseYourRingStress · 25/01/2025 06:31

Minah talked about being a team player and a perfectionist at work in one of the interviews and how she was going to play it differently to how anyone had played it before.

Coldanddamp · 25/01/2025 06:31

I agree with a lot of your points. I think it's very difficult because the public prefer a fair sense of play even when you are being the "baddie". I enjoyed watching M as a traitor & still liked her, C I disliked because Freddie was so innocent, some things she said etc.

Fridayfridaycatsandblamange · 25/01/2025 06:34

Poor Freddie! That was so painful to watch although him voting her out at his final round table definitely did help to get Charlotte banished.

Coldanddamp · 25/01/2025 06:35

And then because Leanne was somewhat hypocritical & lacked self awareness she isn't deemed as deserving a winner vs A & F who played in a more gentlemanly manner. It's difficult because a lot is just about your personality.

Fridayfridaycatsandblamange · 25/01/2025 06:39

Some of the comments on Leanne’s winning Instagram post are just horrible. It’s a bloody game on TV , why did people take it so seriously.

Coldanddamp · 25/01/2025 06:43

It’s fine to dislike the way people play the game but I ended up liking Leanne more just because of how much some comments felt like crossing the line into bullying while, ironically, accusing Leanne of being a bully.

People didn't like L because it came across that she could accuse someone & judge their behaviour but she flew off the handle when it was done back to her, even if they just said her name. The British public generally are turned off by hypocrites.

WinterCosiness · 25/01/2025 06:43

Yes, I think it's fine to have preferences, and to really want a certain player to win or lose. I absolutely did want Alexander to win, and would have loved Freddie to win with him as a faithful. I was very upset about Charlotte's recruitment and sacrifice of him. I definitely didn't want Charlotte to win. Buuut, there are limits. The game is the game. The crazy amount of hate Charlotte's received for trying to win (even if I really disliked her strategy) is just unpleasant and unnecessary. She was playing a role ultimately. I'm pretty sure Freddie and Alexander would agree!

Coldanddamp · 25/01/2025 06:44

It’s a bloody game on TV , why did people take it so seriously.

Isn't that the point though? The contestants take it very seriously, if the viewers didn't would it be so popular?

Coldanddamp · 25/01/2025 06:45

obviously people should not be posting horrible things to people's social media pages.

Thank you I don’t have instagram or facebook so only see things on here hence my question. I’ve just watched Uncloaked and they all came across well and trying to appease some of the comments.

Will listen to the bonus episode later.

Twiglets1 · 25/01/2025 06:51

I think Frankie made several mistakes at the end so deserved to go. She was so suspicious of Alexander for giving her the coins which is something a traitor wouldn’t have done as would have been desperate to win the Seer. Then when she voiced her irrational suspicions, he urged her to “pick me & find out” but she didn’t. A traitor would not have suggested to a faithful that they pick them.

Instead she picked Charlotte, the person she least suspected.

Then she became paranoid there was more than one traitor left, despite the fact 3 traitors had very recently been uncovered (she was the only one that knew for a fact Charlotte was a traitor). She should have just urged the group to vote for Charlotte. Though really the group had to get both of them out ( as they didn’t know what she knew) she got too paranoid at the end about there being yet another traitor- Alexander. This was statistically unlikely as there is never a big ratio of traitors to faithfuls. So she turned on Alexander for no good reason after him helping her gain more coins which at the time she wanted.

She also overlayed the “we’re both mothers” card to Leanne. I don’t regret her being voted out but I do feel sorry for Alexander.

Came across is the key point. We see an edited version of what happened. I actually disagree with that viewpoint anyway. She wanted to defend herself when her name came up (who wouldn’t?) but she defended herself differently to others. Most faithfuls defend themselves by having no defence and bursting into tears. They get emotional over being accused of doing something they didn’t do. Leanne also got emotional, it was just that her emotions made her act argumentative rather than tearful. Traitors have responded to being accused in the same way Leanne did, like Charlotte with Frankie or Wilf in season one, but nobody has got the vitriol that Leanne did. I think it’s unnecessary and I don’t think Leanne deserves it. You can dislike what you saw but the hate she’s received has been way beyond that. She’s a real human being.

Coldanddamp · 25/01/2025 06:55

Instead she picked Charlotte, the person she least suspected.

I think the Freddie thing turned her head a little bit and she then wanted absolute confirmation that her gut was right & her friend was a faithful. She was shocked by the card and I think by things C said in her defence. So it's understandable to me that she was paranoid & didn't play in the best way. She reacted in a typically human fashion.

Fridayfridaycatsandblamange · 25/01/2025 06:57

Also Alexander was never going to win. They all suspected him.

SleepQuest33 · 25/01/2025 06:58

I hope the producers forget the “sear” idea, what a disaster!!! Left with 4 faithfuls in the final?

gutted that Minah didn’t win despite her being a traitor. She was true to her word.

glad back stabbing Charlotte didn’t win although she gave good telly.

love Alexander! Would have liked for him and Jake to win, oh well.

Coldanddamp · 25/01/2025 06:58

@RainbowSnake I've not seen other series so can't compare. I think it's fine to justify and defend yourself but I am explaining the element I disliked and I think that was the general perception of her from the public. Or do you think that isn't the reason?
