The Castaways
, a new Paramount+ drama series based on Lucy Clarke’s bestselling novel.

After a huge fight on holiday, Lori (Smith) boards a plane to Fiji, while Erin (Buckens) does not.

The flight never arrives at its destination and months later, no wreckage has been located.

But Erin refuses to believe that her sister is gone.

When Erin learns that Lori’s credit card has been used on a remote Fijian island and later recognises the plane’s pilot on CCTV, she boards a plane to Fiji to track down the truth. Sounds dark and intriguing.

As well as Smith and Buckens, the series also features Brendan Cowell (Avatar: The Way Of Water) as pilot Mike Brasse, Dominic Tighe (The Boys In The Boat) as fellow passenger Daniel Eldridge, Lasarus Ratuere (The Tourist (www.stylist.co.uk/entertainment/tv/the-tourist-bbc-one-2/765846)) as Felix Vatuba and Charlotte Vega (Burial) as Amber Gordon.

On the series, author Lucy Clarke said it “promises to be an incredible adaptation; the scriptwriting
is electric, and Sheridan and Céline are perfectly cast as Lori and Erin”.

Just started watching so apologies if it's already been mentioned but the mum with baby in sling, she only had one passport at checkin. These little things annoy the crap of me.

But not 2 bullets

so is sonny alive after Dan killed amber

The recap was helpful. So Camilla (Mr Eldridge's wife - bearded man) hired gun waving shooting woman.

Amazing how the insurance company in the first episode wanted to settle but Camilla the millionaire wife and Erin the sister just know that their relatives are still alive.

Strangely I'm looking forward to the final episode of this ludicrous, highly unbelievable and bonkers series.

In fairness there are so many holes in this entire plot that the mere omission of a passport is small fry in comparison to everything else!

I just loved how Lori started dictating a message into her phone before the battery died on her. I would love a phone where the battery lasted for 6 months or so.

I like the fact it's fast paced and I quite fancied the pilot in a rough ' looks like Russell Crowe ' sort of way.
The two main leads are pretty good with a thin unbelievably bad plot , but the scenery is great and it's just good fun.
Probably not what the writers were looking for, but it's better than some other channel five dramas! Just waiting for someone to jump out behind a curtain blonds .. 😆

I also hope that Felix is OK and that miraculously he struggles out of the rip tides and water alive, and just floats safely to shore where Lori assists him and he coughs all the water out of his lungs.

Then perhaps they could contain baddy Mr Eldridge/Dan/bearded man until the cavalry arrive aka Erin in the speed boat arriving in the nick of time.

Think you could be onto something Blondes with happy ever after Lori and Felix and adopting the castaway baby!

I'm still confused as to what the plan to ditch was for? Can someone please explain?

The plan to Ditch ?

I assume he was planning to land/ditch the plane on the other island

Dan paid the pilot to pretend to have plane issues and crash / but the storm wrecked their plan

he was meant to land the plane on an island which is very near to where they did crash and then Dan was going to kill amber

but he didn’t know she was preg /had baby which made things different

tho obv he still killed her

Dan wanted pilot to kill amber and he said he was a bad man but not that bad but I’d he wanted to get rid of her he could drop them on an island

hence why he took food water supplies there

and what the money she found was for

and why he couldn’t say he was alive

The book (whilst less OTT) was so much better.
