I’d like to think Frankie’s hiding a really good secret, but I doubt it.

Maybe Freddie, Joe and, Alex Jake are her 4 sons?

Agreed. Even DH (who only gives it a cursory watch) said "surely she's going over the top with her reaction? She won't have been in there all night. That's going to look suspicious to everyone"

Then Alexander climbed out smiling and I was sitting there thinking "Nooo, Alexander - don't smile and laugh - that looks so dodgy!"

Then Frankie getting the numbers wrong could easily be interpreted as looking like a deliberate sabotage.

When you remove the fact that you know who the traitors are, you can easily imagine overthinking absolutely anything.

I still don't know why Minah handed her drink to someone to "look after". Or was it to then turn around and say that although it might have looked like she was marking her, the fact that they weren't chosen for the death match must mean she's a faithful?

Then Frankie getting the numbers wrong could easily be interpreted as looking like a deliberate sabotage.

I thought that, but then I realised that in this mission there was no advantage for the traitors to gain by sabotaging it. The money went into the pot if they finished in time and the traitors are also after that pot.

In fact in general I think they don't do enough to encourage the traitors to sabotage the tasks. I was annoyed when several people turned on Anna for allegedly sabotaging the boat landing. All that would have happened if they had run out of time, from the traitors' point of view, was less money in the pot, and a larger choice of people to murder that evening. Doesn't seem worth messing up deliberately for that.

ViolinsPlayGentlyOn · 16/01/2025 15:51

I agree - I had high hopes about that from the first mission, but it’s all been forgotten about now.

witchycat2 · 16/01/2025 15:56

The tasks are so boring, they need to introduce something to make them more interesting

Someone said on this or another thread that no viewers are interested in the tasks, therefore they've decided not to put much thought or money into them, but I think that's a bit of a circular argument. If they were more entertaining, or revealing of personality, they'd be more central to the show. Why couldn't finding the three coffins, for instance, have been more like proper orienteering where contestants who might find running difficult are giving directions via earpieces of a tannoy to the rest, or something? It felt very wet that they were just driven tamely to the right spot.

TellingBone · 16/01/2025 16:11

Charlotte said in her intro that she'd seen surveys where the Welsh accent is often deemed one of the most 'trusted' - thus she wanted to be a trusted voice in the game

And a bit of jeopardy - even repeating the cage task and saying each buried person has a Shield, which they’ll give to someone if they’re found but otherwise that shield is lost woukd have made it more interesting. And given the Traitors an opportunity to sabotage.

TellingBone · 16/01/2025 16:13

Looks like we'll need a new thread going into tonight's episode @witchycat2 🙂

If I was Welsh I would find it offensive

I agree and said that last night. seems rather offensive to welsh people.

I still like Leanne.

happinessischocolate · 16/01/2025 16:23

Yes I was just thinking it will be less interesting without Linda and Fozia for that matter. Hopefully the others will come out of their shell bit more.

Just because we don't see people it doesn't mean that they are quiet, it just means they're not leaving any time soon or getting voted for at the round table.

I knew that Leon would win the cards because there's been barely any footage of him and loads of Fozia, so she was obviously going. 🤷‍♀️

Piggywaspushed · 16/01/2025 16:28

To be fair to Charlotte, I think she did say her mother was Welsh, so it's not complete appropriation.

I agree the fake accent thing is offensive, and it didn't help poor Elen. (Who I wish had stuck around longer if only in the hope that she might have tried a few words of Welsh on Charlotte. I imagine that if there were more than one Irish person in the game, and they actually trusted one another, they might communicate in a cúpla focail from time to time. Only of course that makes monoglots incredibly suspicious...

Why do you like Leanne, @Samcro? She just seems aggressively gobby to me.

This is true, we only see an hour of footage. There will be lots of things we never see

New thread title - The Traitors #VI - the writing on the wall.

Any more ideas out there?

They talked about that though as they were chatting and Charlotte said to Elen that she had no Welsh which is totally possible if you come from where she claimed to come from (Abergavenny, I think). She had herself quite well covered ! I'm assuming she claimed to be from where her mother is really from.

I agree. Considering that part of the game is questioning people, she gets REALLY defensive and is acting more like a traitor than the traitor! I get it's frustrating but Alexander wasn't being unpleasant to her, he was just doing what he's there to do.

TheBluntTurtle · 16/01/2025 16:40

Inmydreams88 · 16/01/2025 08:20

I don't understand the mindset of "Why am I still here??!, there must be a reason!" Why do they think they are so special, or that there must be a deep and meaningful reason why they are still there. It's just chance and luck.

Three of them said that at the round table last night. Main character syndrome much? Maybe if they spent the time to look at evidence - such as actions and behaviour changes - instead of thinking about themselves they might be a bit better at the game?
I really hope they murder Leanne tonight - she has too much influence and can turn quickly - she could easily turn against minah and get the group against her.

Bouledeneige · 16/01/2025 16:45

There's never any advantage to traitor sabotage of the missions as they have an equal interest in maximising the prize pot. They do have an equal interest in winning shields too.

I didn’t think Alexander did anything wrong either - he was very calm and wanting to understand why she thought what she did. She got defensive because she realised she hadnt considered recruitment but rather than admit it she got nasty. He shouldn’t have apologised for being patronising - because he wasn’t really and now it will have cemented it in everyone’s heads that he’s a patronising know it all.
I think it would be really interesting for Alexander to get to the end. I would like to see how he handles the decision of whether to end the game and if there are any traitors left. He’s the only one using pure logic at the moment.

WatchOutMissMarpleIsAbout · 16/01/2025 16:50

I don’t think it’s offensive Charlotte using a Welsh accent if her mother is Welsh. It’s part of her heritage.

Isn’t Welsh GCSE compulsory in Wales?

I know it’s hardly going to make her fluent, but I would have thought most people could remember the basics from a language GCSE, even if it’s extremely sketchy.

Piggywaspushed · 16/01/2025 16:59

My DH doesn't know a word of Welsh. He is older admittedly.

Clafoutie · 16/01/2025 17:08

witchycat2 · 16/01/2025 15:41

I think they're fixated on how it happened in previous series (the traitors had to physically do something like kiss or hand a drink). It won't cross their minds that it was something that didn't require physical interaction between the traitors and the murdered candidates

Nothing much useful ever seems to cross their minds!
