No point murdering Jake - who would that point the finger at?

Unless Jake suspects someone else, but he's been fairly focused on Linda, I'm not sure he picked up on anyone else "since the train".

Edited

Agree. If they’re clever they’ll murder Leanne - putting Alexander in the frame. Although I still have a slight niggle that Charlotte and Alexander know each other somehow, if so, Charlotte probably won’t want to put Alexander in the frame.

Linda completely failed to read the room, she insisted on speaking first, drawing attention to herself in a most unnecessary way and deflecting attention away from the suspicion on Leon and Alexander, a bandwagon she could and should have jumped on. Love Linda but she was hopeless!

Haha! She was so funny. Not only did she start on Leanne, she then didn’t vote for her (if I remember correctly, she voted for Alexander), when it was likely her best chance of survival.

Samcro · 16/01/2025 09:51

im glad Linda has gone. shame that Minah picked another woman.
it was bad enough last year with it being all men.
surely the faithfuls will click to the fact that they are all women. 2 traitors both women have been caught !!
glad Leon is still in it.

kindlyensure · 16/01/2025 09:53

They have to remember that at the end no one will reveal if they are faithful or traitor. So it's a judgement call in the run-up to the final. Do they leave an obvious faithful in (Jake?) to lull any others left into a false sense of, oh we're deffo all faithfuls here.

Or do they leave a decoy traitor in, eg. Leanne, or poss Alexander, as they have some heat and can act as the fall-guy traitors to hide the real traitors?

TetHouse · 16/01/2025 09:53

Whoarethoseguys · 16/01/2025 09:39

I read an interesting article about this. They argued that the contestants had watched too much of the previous series and so we're trying to second guess the producers all the time. Convinced they would pick a certain type of traitor so they were looking at personalities rather than properly playing the game and looking for clues.
I think he is right it is also stopping the from thinking properly Anna was convinced Meena was a traitor because she handed her a glass which happened last year's she wasn't thinking clearly as surely if she thought that she should have asked the others.

Yes, the article was linked up the thread, I think — Radio Times? I think it’s the issue with any show when it’s popular, has generated a lot of discussion, and has been running for a few seasons. People second-guess the production team.

I mean, I understand why this year’s contestants are doing it. In fact, there’s very little hard evidence of any kind to go on, ever, so they’re left with what they know about past seasons and traitor ruses and behaviour from back then. like Anna’s theory about the drink. (Which wasn’t that off the wall, really. Even leaving aside last season’s use of drinks for murder, why would someone ask you to take their drink with you if you went into another room while you were in the loo? Does it imply there’s a very gung-ho set cleaner who keeps removing half-full glasses the minute anyone puts them down and goes out of the room?)

In some ways it’s easier to think ‘If they’ve cast two sisters, surely they’d make one a traitor?’ or ‘Would they be likely to make one of the Rail Replacement late entrants a traitor?’

I stopped reading this thread at about 10.30 last night and haven't caught up on everyone's post-show analysis, but I need to get on with my day so my thoughts are:

Fozia was exceptionally rude to Linda at her murder. She said something like "oh ha ha, YOU won't last long" so no wonder Linda bit back. I'm sorry to see Linda go, she was entertaining at least and did pretty well to last this long.

It's easy to say as a viewer - but are this group particularly thick or what? Why the hell were they wasting time having a cosy chat with Anna and Alexander when the clock was ticking on their 60 minute task? I was screaming at the TV.

Francesca actually digging up a grave. I mean WTF? Did she seriously think they'd bury someone in a coffin? Also, going out on a task in snakeskin slingbacks. If I were a faithful in that game I'd probably suspect her of being a traitor trying to sabotage the task because of those two unbelievably stupid mistakes.

I still don't understand why they think a traitor was in the four for the death game. It was a game of chance. So a traitor could not have engineered it to stay in Confused.

Leanne = nasty piece of work. She's always been the cleeeeeeeeeky type.

Charlotte = interesting choice by Minah.

Tbf they did have a task where they dug up graves (albeit not real ones 😆) in season one so perhaps in the heat of the moment she got swept up in that memory. Absolutely hilarious how they got the number wrong - only on The Traitors eh 🤦‍♀️

ChanelBoucle · 16/01/2025 09:57

I must say, I’m finding the contestants quite unlikeable this series. I feel there’s not a lot of character or humour to any of them. I haven’t watched S2 yet but compared to S1 I just don’t feel there’s a lot of intelligence or depth to any of this group (and given the calibre of S1’s lot that’s saying something 😆)

JaneAustensHeroine · 16/01/2025 10:01

Inmydreams88 · 16/01/2025 08:20

I don't understand the mindset of "Why am I still here??!, there must be a reason!" Why do they think they are so special, or that there must be a deep and meaningful reason why they are still there. It's just chance and luck.

I agree. To me, “Why am I still here?” is an attention-seeking statement. Brings the attention back onto her and she is wanting people to think she is somehow ‘special’ and protected. Why are any of them still there? Because there aren’t enough murders or banishments to get rid of a job lot!

Joe, Jake and Leanne need to go so I can start watching again. I’ll even cope with Anna if J,J&L go!

RedLightsStopSigns · 16/01/2025 10:07

As a misophonia sufferer, I was not delighted by the fact they seemed to be slurping down their main meal
right before the round table so there was a lot of talking with mouths full, particularly Linda and Alexander, which made me want to (literally) murder them.

I also don’t understand Anna’s narrative of “the Traitors have been out to get me for ages” - you’d be dead then.

If I recall, someone upthread noticed that he was being isolated as well.

Oh, apologies. I miss so many posts on these threads, as they fill so quickly, and I can't keep up. Glad I'm not the only one who noticed it anyway...

CaveMum · 16/01/2025 10:13

I assumed that they would be digging the players up too! As has been said they buried people in previous seasons - they had Walkie Talkies in S1 and had to direct the players to find them - so it wasn’t a huge leap.

Is anyone a subscriber to The Rest is Entertainment? They’ve said on today’s Q&A that their subscriber edition this week will be a Traitor’s Special and I’d love to hear what they’ve got to say but not prepared to pay for it 🤣

The fact they keep showing Leon talking about how he's doing it for his family suggests to me that he will be one of the last one's standing that we will all be rooting for. I feel like we had a lot about Harry winning the money for his family last series - made him screwing over his best mate more palatable.

I think Charlotte will be a good traitor. I want Alexander to stay in too - he is at least applying logic (which all the others seem to take great offence at).

AlisonDonut · 16/01/2025 10:20

Turkeyhen · 16/01/2025 09:24

@LindorDoubleChoc I wondered why no one picked up on Frankie misreading the grave number as a possible act of sabotage (although there would be no point in sabotaging a mission unless it prevented a faithful from getting a shield). In future series perhaps the missions should be better designed to allow traitors to sabotage and thus give the faithfuls clues. I am finding this year's missions lame so far, much as I love the show.

Also what the heck happened to the Columbo task to work out how the traitors had selected the four for the death match? Apart from the whole business with Minah's drink, there was hardly any talk about it or effort to find clues.

@TetHouse your description of Alexander - "polite, diplomatic Alexander (whom I kind of like, for his jumpers and the fact that he looks rather like a nice werewolf, if a werewolf had lovely manners and an air of ‘Let’s talk this through before anyone gets hurt…’)" - absolutely brilliant 😂

Columbo would have walked round the room looking for clues. And seen the painting. And recognised the writing.

ViolinsPlayGentlyOn · 16/01/2025 10:25

I think they’ll kill Jake tonight but hopefully Leanne will go shortly after. I think with her gone it will be a much more enjoyable game to watch. Don’t love Joe either, but at least he seems to have calmed down a bit after being totally wrong about Kas.

Pinkskiesfreezing · 16/01/2025 10:28

Even though Linda was terrible at being a traitor, I’ll be really sad to see her go as at lest she was entertaining. I think Minah will go soon and then I can’t think of anyone particularly interesting to watch. Lisa is such a wasted contestant , so dull and doesn’t add anything to the show at all. And, because of this, she’ll probably be there until the end.

CaveMum · 16/01/2025 10:30

They’ve answered one Traitor’s question today, about how the filming of the murders happen.

Sounds like the turret scenes are not a set!

Transcript (AI generated so there may be spelling issues!)

MH “Can I ask you one Traitor's question, please?

RO: Yes, because we're doing a bonus episode with lots of Traitor's questions.

Because the sheer deluge, holding back our metaphorical door. Josephine Bradley says, I can't get my head around how and when the murder is done. We see Claudia leave the letter on the chair once voting has happened, and then the murdered contestant picks it up from the chair.

MH: But people seem to leave and arrive in groups in the Land Rovers, and they arrive in groups to the breakfast room. How do they choreograph the sort of leaving and departures and all of that business then?

RO: Well, everyone lives in their own separate accommodation, and everyone's driven in separate vehicles, just so you can't ever say, it was interesting that John didn't come home last night.

MH: They're like a band that have fallen out of separate limo stages of life.

RO: Exactly, separate limos. And if you're one of the murderers, then your Range Rover simply does a few laps around the block until all the Range Rovers have gone.

MH: The block is quite big in the Highlands though, isn't it?

RO: The block is very big, exactly.

MH: You could be driving by in Venice.

RO: Exactly. And so they will come around and they will then come back to the house, park up, and they will then film the discussions about the murder. You will, right at the end of the whole series, anyone who has been a traitor at any point will go back and film lots of other little shots of them just walking and talking, you know, just establishing shots.

MH: All that interstitial bit with the hoods in the...

RO: Yeah, exactly. So they're not having to do any of that on the time. Yeah, so the cars will all leave as if they're going to where they're going.

Three of the cars, or two of the cars, will then circle back, go back to the turret, film the stuff and then take them back to their place. The actual murders, the one thing you always see the person coming in and looking at the bit of paper with their name on it, that will always be shot afterwards as well.

MH: Well, they're in different clothes for that, so next morning and not. But the great thing about that is, which I'm so relieved as a perennial watcher of reality TV is when they've just come out of, they're still coming down off their round table, you don't have people go in and burst into tears. I really like the fact that on that show, you don't have to watch people just heave through tears and snort and whatever while they're explaining what they've been.

RO: As so often in-game shows, the truth of the story is always there, but occasionally there will be shots that they do afterwards because you cannot do everything at the time, because every single shot you do takes about an hour to set up, and so the actual mechanics of the day have to continue.

Occasionally things are shot out of order just because you have to be making a television show. But we will have loads more Traitors questions on our bonus episode, which will come out tomorrow.

I thought Francesca’s shoe choice was deeply weird, too! I mean, even if she’d thought the task was indoors, we’ve seen them change into outdoor gear before after breakfast, so presumably there’s the opportunity to keep a change of clothes and shoes somewhere at the castle? In fairness, she appeared to be right at the front of the mission a lot, running down to the boat, dashing around misreading Roman numerals in the graveyard etc, so her slingbacks didn’t hamper her…

I missed the significance of eight because DS was talking — I remember something about suns, but what suns were they counting?

@TetHouse The suns that they had to count were the number of suns on the two “life” cards held by Anna and Alexander, which was eight. How they went to the grave marked VII, I don’t know, especially as Frankie said that she “knew” Roman numerals!😂. If I were a Faithful at that stage, I’d be suspecting her as a possible Traitor!

I agree it's not a clever comment. Leanne isn't the only only still in so why should there be a special reason for her to still be there than anyone else.
I thought she was horrible to Alexander last night. She is forgetting it's a game and taking it much to personally.

TellingBone · 16/01/2025 11:07

I'd have recruited Frankie if I was Minah.

Regarding Leanne's aggressive response to the accusation - it's a tried and tested tactic based upon attack being the best form of defence. I've noticed in previous series that responding in this manner does often work; however it's usually accompanied by a deflection - get everyone immediately talking about someone else. It's what I would do in that position.

I hope Minah wins. She's been a great traitor.

I laughed out loud at this too!

That's how the subtitles interpreted the word, too!😂He was saying his own name but it came out like that because of his accent...

whosaidtha · 16/01/2025 11:26

She doesn't want to recruit someone under suspicion when there's only two of them left. Because then every night she's recruiting instead of murdering. They need a few days where they can just murder people.
Jake needs to go next. He is too safe as a faithful so people will rally behind his opinions too easily.
I also think Anna needs to go but I think it would be suspicious if minah murders her.

TheFifthTellytubby · 16/01/2025 11:28

CrushingOnRubies · 15/01/2025 21:45

Alexander came out better in that exchange with Leanne

Once a diplomat, always a diplomat... 😁

Turkeyhen · 16/01/2025 11:29

Maybe Minah will attempt to fan the flames of suspicion about Leanne to get her banished rather than murdering her. Has Jake mentioned Minah? I've already forgotten who suspects Minah other than Anna and Leanne.

ThePolarBearWhoLostHisCrown · 16/01/2025 11:31

But it did give us a bit of an insight to Leanne's personality. Whilsr surrounded by her buddies she was thrilled with herself are the idea of going in an confronting Linda, confident in the support she'd get.
But the confrontation didn't go to plan because rather than try to bluster her way out of it Linda agreed with her. Leanne kept going though to have the argument for arguments sake. Very mean girls.

Frankie and Anna suspect Minah.
