Starting this thread (as I did this time last year) as the comments on the episodes on telly addicts are always so funny it makes it worth while sitting through the totally unconvincing plots, characters, so called relationships and ...

But who knows maybe this year will be different!

BBC One - Silent Witness, Series 28, Exodus 20:17 - Part 1

The body of an elderly woman found in a cave presents a disturbing mystery for the Lyell.

A perforated ulcer would explain all his symptoms and may be slightly more likely than a virus.

If a little more mundane.

BillStickersIsInnocent · 27/01/2025 21:47

Is Beth a bit dodgy

Houseplanter · 27/01/2025 21:48

Yes I think she is too

Houseplanter · 27/01/2025 21:54

Well that's the most bonkers episode ever.

CrushingOnRubies · 27/01/2025 21:55

This episode is crazy

The irritating man reminds of the husband in s1 of bad sisters. Same attitude

Butteredtoast55 · 27/01/2025 22:02

Slight distraction here with DS....what happened when the horrible passenger and Beth had an altercation?

JenniferBooth · 27/01/2025 22:06

Tony mentioned a "cause" what cause?

TheHillsIsLonely · 27/01/2025 22:21

That was meant to be an hour of relaxation for me, watching the TV. It's left me feeling fraught!

CrushingOnRubies · 27/01/2025 22:26

When you're making small talk and someone asks you "how was your flight?" Well... we were diverted via Azerbaijan and man was vomiting blood.

Poor Niki was just sat there hoping to catch up on some new release movies and enjoy 1st class perks

TheHillsIsLonely · 27/01/2025 22:31

I think Tony and Beth knew each other. I suspect some kind of environmental pollutant caused the cancers and death of Tony's wife and daughter, and it is something to do with The Irritating Man's company. Were Tony and Beth working together to publicise it? Beth also seemed to have prior knowledge of The Irritating Man.

Would you like to see the videos we took of it?

Welcome to the age of the mobile phone camera when, rather than 'just' rubbernecking at tragedies, or God forbid trying to help or at least respectfully averting their eyes, some people think it's ok to film them.

He was stomping about full of loud complaints and self-importance. She grabbed his arm to stop him, saying something like 'don't you ever stop?', and he pushed her violently over in the galley. Other people arrived on the scene then and the story moved on.

On a nine hour flight how many deep sleeps did Nikki have? Were there only two airline staff onboard? Did the dog survive? Why did they wear rubber gloves all the time and was there only one face mask onboard? So many questions that don't need to be answered.

I love watching Silent Witness but dearie me that was the most bonkers episode ever.

placemats · 27/01/2025 23:13

Oops, sorry a couple of spoilers on my post because I watched both episodes.

It doesn't spoil the enthralling story line. (Sarcasm alert).

LadyGAgain · 27/01/2025 23:32

I think that the lack of the london office and physical interaction between Nikki and him made this the best Silent Shitness in a very long time.
I hasten to add... The bar is low.

Shetlands · 28/01/2025 13:12

I've watched both the latest episodes but won't mention the 2nd one yet.

1st episode was gripping (yes far-fetched story but just about plausible) with superb acting throughout. Good to see Nicky in that red blouse again!

I'm liking the professor and the new assistant even more as this series progresses. Much more believable characters and better actors than those in the last series.

XxSideshowAuntSallyx · 28/01/2025 13:59

I actually found last night's episode quite good, I found myself laughing at certain bits (Jack picking up Harriet and her comment made me chuckle). Also watching Nikki's plane on Flight Radar. I think it worked better because we didn't have Jack and Nikki's relationship but instead the story was the main focus

I also like the new assistant Kit.

Cattery · 28/01/2025 15:52

SPOILER ALERT. So Nicki dealt with a fatally ill passenger, another two who were showing the same symptoms, performed CPR and used a defibrillator, climbed into the hold, did a living post mortem, managed to be in contact with London, had an unscheduled stopover in Azabhajan and STILL managed to get off a nine hour flight looking better than I do when I land at Heathrow 😍

IwantToRetire · 28/01/2025 17:57

Have watched both episode.

Silent Witness turns into international political thriller!

No spoilers but just to say that as usual I struggled to keep up with all the different characters. Although this time I think I have grasped the storyline.

By the way I think the writers have been reading our threads as the new boss just cant help herself making fun of Jack.

His whole character is so horrendously thick macho male who thinks he is supreme that she has so many opportunities.

Love it!

This is nucking futs. Getting more ridiculous by the second and bar Maggie Steed, the acting is appalling. Pity as used to be such a great series.

RosesAndHellebores · 28/01/2025 21:41

I like it. It's easily watched light entertainment. It's what I need. And reminds me that tossers can have lovely sisters.

I think you mean cousins. Emilia's brother is Freddie, Laurence is her cousin.

RosesAndHellebores · 28/01/2025 21:55

Oki doki. Sorry for error x

FeralNun · 28/01/2025 21:59

I watched the first part and thought - this is really quite good!
The second part - the writers went mad.

CrushingOnRubies · 28/01/2025 22:01

Promethazine is also in might nurse. I'm allergic to it and have to be really careful about what cold & flu medication I can have.
