I’m worried for Natalie

Wolfcub · 16/02/2025 20:55

It's been a two horse race from the start

Wolfcub · 16/02/2025 20:55

Gutted for Jonathan

SereneFish · 16/02/2025 20:56

Weird that the judges didn't consider Francesca for going? Not that I'm upset about it.

AlicePottery · 16/02/2025 20:56

I really liked Jonathan, he reminds me of a Wallace and Gromit character (not just because of his accent)!

Steve’s bowl is on a 45 degree angle, are we all pretending we can’t see that?

Saucery · 16/02/2025 20:57

Given what Jonathan has said about his accident and recovery I am sure he will have the resilience to take the positives and shrug off the negatives.

AlicePottery · 16/02/2025 20:57

Oooooh I shall be frantically taking notes next week 😂

I think she's been struggling for weeks and has been lucky not to go but her decoration this week was really good

Saucery · 16/02/2025 20:57

Steve winning most of the time is a bit boring.

Evasmissingletter · 16/02/2025 20:58

Noooo love Jonathan 😥

Fatloss · 16/02/2025 20:58

Till next week

AnneElliotfanclub · 16/02/2025 20:59

Didn't like the winning bird bath and sorry that Jonathan has gone.

Diana rather than Natalie I think.

Yes - oops - Steve, James & Diana managed to makes bird baths. I loved both Steve and James’ but I think Steve’s construction swung it for him.

LadyAddle · 16/02/2025 21:00

@Qwerty111 Yes, definitely squint when they showed it in the gallery.

She didn't really make any technical errors in her make this time (S cracks happen frequently, especially if you haven't got time to let things dry verrrrry slowly), Jonathan and Nathalie on the other hand made avoidable mistakes, I'm guessing that was the judges' reasoning.

Also Francesca's decoration was very good. I suspect she won't last much longer though.

Ahh that's interesting, thank you. I wish they would give us non-potters more information like that on the programme.

I really liked Diana's, with the map and railway line and the little 3d towns. I liked it and Steve's most (the brick motif was great)

Jonathon was a joy. I'll really miss him and I hope his wife forgives him for that 'model' of her face 😂 He's a lovely man.

I really liked that too.

CrossPurposes · 17/02/2025 12:54

I must say I was disappointed that nobody mentioned Arnold Bennett or, indeed, Robbie Williams, both very prominent people from Stoke.

I see your Robbie Williams and raise you Lemmy!

Motorhead themed bird bath - what a missed opportunity!

I've just caught up with this week's episode. Sorry to see Jonathon go but I think it was time, I'mglad he did so well last week with his mushroom lamp.

I would have preferred James to win this time around. Even as a non potter I can see how technically able Steve's was (apart from the slight nod to the Leaning Tower of Stoke-On-Trent) but I loved James' witch. It was great to see him go in a different direction from his usual (which i also think is good) . I would happily have James' birdbath in my garden.

I think Franscesca maybe next to go, sadly as she has some great designs, just not quite as good in practice as some of the others which may just be with the time contraints.

i think Steve is on track to win overall (although I'd love to see James win as I slightly prefer his style).

How many episodes are left?

CurlewKate · 18/02/2025 18:04

I do love GPTD. But oh my god-isn't practically everything they make hideous! Like something out of a 1970s household design shop. Anyone remember the lamps with stands shaped like sitting leopards?

SereneFish · 18/02/2025 18:12

I like a lot of what they make. I'd have liked most of the bird baths in my garden.
