I'm buzzing!

I liked Elen, it was a shame she got voted out. I thought her crying was a genuine nervous/emotional reaction to having to defend herself so hard rather than anything exaggerated and fake.
None of them seem to grasp that different people will react in different ways to themselves.
I thought army girl (Leanne?) and model girl were almost gleefully piling in on her at the end.
Can't stand self appointed leader Armani. Not as clever as she thinks she is and a bit rich of her to accuse Linda of saying a lot without really saying anything!

LindorDoubleChoc · 03/01/2025 09:42

Morning all. Just place-marking to watch along for my third series of Traitors. I've been looking forward to it and I hope it's as good as the first two (I've only watched the UK ones) but the unbelievable amount of screaming, hugging and crying in episode 1 is putting me off ENORMOUSLY. Also, it deeply pains me to say, it's making me ashamed to be female. UGH. For those of you who are watching for the first time, also try S1 and S2 - the hysterics can be bad but nothing on this scale! Cringe.

I think they murderd Yin first just because she was irritating, not because she was intelligent. The doctor is also going to be intelligent isn't he? Many of us took a dislike to her in her patronising comments to camera.

I've only watched episode 1 but I'll catch up today and watch along.

Lentilweaver · 03/01/2025 09:47

I dont understand why you would join a show which involves lying and being lied to, and then be hysterical about having to lie and be lied to.
As for intelligent Dr Kasim, his days are numbered. He will be voted out next. Very important to play dumb.

Lentilweaver · 03/01/2025 09:49

Just realised I am posting on 2 threads! Sorry if I am repeating myself.

See I think they'd have to be pretty stupid to think it's him. if he were a traitor he would be keeping him head down. I really hope that Armani gets sussed and even better if it's her sister that does it - I'd certainly think that one of the sisters was a traitor and Armani is being very obvious.

Yes agree although I think Armani accused her fellow traitors of not speaking up enough not that they were saying a lot.

What I can't believe is that this group is again going for the group think. Always focusing on one or two.

And how on earth Linda didn't get voted out this time I just don't know as there were contestant who said they're suspicious (apparently a couple of the chaps want to lie a trap but don't know what that is and they lost a faithful, Elen, who was actually right about two things - traitors are strong (?) females and she voted Linda out.

APushbikeNamedReluctance · 02/01/2025 23:42

Once Elen started excessive crying i was just overcome with the need for her to be banished.

Regarding the spelling of names, I'm a pretty poor speller myself, so I'm felt some sympathy for Keith and decided he wrote "Nathen" and just didn't finish his n completely as I feel "Nathen" is a reasonably understandable misspelling depending on the accent you hear the name in.

I wonder if they ever get to see how everyone else spells their name. There can ofteb be some alternative ways for quite common names.

I was trying to remember if they all wore name badges for the first few days in series one? I'd be hopeless at remembering names let alone the random spellings. My son has a similar name to this and he gets all sorts of spellings in his Christmas cards 😆

sadly the 3 who got of the train looked interesting.
I only really like IVf guy. blonde beautician girl, army girl, curtains and vicar at the moment.
non welsh person is just daft and gobby traitor is beyond irritating. other young traitor reminds me of someone from how to get away with murder. so she needs to stay.

Don’t know who Curtains is but the others you mentioned (presuming IVF guy is pink hair with ear spreaders) i have penciled in on my irritating list. Only penciled I could change my mind.

So far I have all the older crowd on my like list (I like Linda) and several other people whose names I don't remember.

Who else has cried? Elen (so ridiculous) and Armarni (one fake tear)

@Pumpkincozynights Charlotte says she is a "business director" or something along those lines.

I really liked the three who were disembarked. Mostly because they volunteered to leave so appeared not to be selfish pricks. (My level of like went in order of volunteering. Fozia can come back and win as far as I'm concerned 🤣.)

The most obviously neurodivergent people typically get voted out early, as do other people who stick out - too intelligent, too loud, too old etc. You basically need to be youngish and average in every respect, and relatively quiet early on. The fact that after several series people don't realise this and at least try to hide their natural selves is... surprising!

I'm hoping that the three who got out at the start will come back. Production must have been gutted when they chose themselves to go because at least two of them seemed really interesting as players

MargaritaPracticallyCan · 03/01/2025 10:13

First time watcher here, I'm pretty sure the 3 from the train will be back - what are the chances that one from each carriage would self-nominate? It feels far too neat and convenient.
Watching how people follow others is fascinating - why did they not vote for Linda on night two when on night one they were all so sure she was a Traitor?
Armani surely is sounding suspicion with her interventions, sharing 'intel' and incessant talking. Her sister will call her out pretty soon I reckon.
I wonder if Linda and the priest know one another ... Just get a vibe from them...

arrigatto · 03/01/2025 10:16

Also - anyone else get the impression that there's going to be some kind of revelation about one or more of the characters that is being hidden from us for now? I just have a sense.

What's the name of the blonde woman who looks a bit like Rosamund pike? She's suspicious to me but I can't tell if it's just because she reminds me of rosamund?

Who do you think is obviously ND?

I wouldn't be able to name any, other than Dan because he referred to his autism in the bios linked in the article upthread.

Listen to or watch Uncloaked. She talks about herself in the third person.

I thought Yin seemed like she was likely ND - all that “I don’t have enough social capital” - seemed like she was trying to follow a rule book (though could also be because of her area of research).

Does anyone else think the IVF guy (Alex?) is probably trans?

I think there will definitely be at least one other secret relationship revealed. And I hope they bring back all 3 who got off the train!

Yin was ND in my opinion. If you listen to the interview with her on Uncloaked it’s very clear.

Brown men get voted out early or murdered in every version across the world. Except Jaz who hung on for dear life.

Also have you seen her interview on bbc breakfast where she broke into song?

It’s a shame she was voted out early.

So many of the more interesting ones get voted out and we are left with the bimbos like Livi who don’t seem threatening. So in that sense Barbie is playing a good game.

Snowmanscarf · 03/01/2025 10:44

@arrigatto I agree, the train people did seem interesting.

I remember in the first series a doctor went to the end of the line and got eliminated. He looked a good candidate as well.

Samcro · 03/01/2025 10:44

Does anyone else think the IVF guy (Alex?) is probably trans?
I thought that at the beginning. it was the way he said his fiancee and him doing IVF.

I often wonder if any of them have ever watched the programme.

Someone upthread said something similar. Usually they’re loud and proud about it though. If he is, at least he’s not making it his defining character.

Yes I’m pretty sure he is.

They also haven’t featured him much yet but I think will focus on him more later.

We also haven’t seen much of Frankie or Anna yet which is a shame as they seem like they are probably a good laugh.

CaveMum · 03/01/2025 10:48

I think that the fact that the same patterns keep emerging just goes to show how predictable human behaviour is! We all like to think that we would play things differently but "group think" is a massive thing and our primal instinct is to stick with the herd - being alone/standing out makes us a target and we've been wired via millions of years of evolution to behave this way, whether it is conscious or not.

mewkins · 03/01/2025 10:50

I love Yin! It would have been interesting to see her take on things in the castle. And she had clearly done her research before going in but as she said on Uncloaked she didn't realise how she herself was coming across to the others. the others who have hidden or changed an aspect of themselves to alter how they're perceived is interesting but you have to be really adept at keeping it up otherwise you'll come across as inauthentic.

Poor Elen was so much herself that people thought she must be acting 😄

CaveMum · 03/01/2025 10:51

I am assuming, via the editing, that they are here for a while yet. When there are so many people to condense into an hour long show, they will focus on those that will have the biggest impact in the short term. It's a bit like watching Bake Off, you know that the person going home in Week 1 is one of those that has had most camera time during the episode!

FKAT · 03/01/2025 10:55

Claudia doesn't seem to be doing her statement knitwear this year and has pivoted to blouses. Is this because even in a Scottish summer all those jumpers are a bit much?
