I'm buzzing!

I agree @NonPlayerCharacter. She seems rather too enthusiastic about the prospect of lying, which I thought was generally something that the Bible wasn’t too keen on

CaveMum · 02/01/2025 09:27

@Samcro yes this is a TV pace thread, there's another thread I believe for those who have watched Ep2.

BillStickersIsInnocent · 02/01/2025 09:56

I think the 3 volunteers to leave the train will come back at some point. It’s interesting in the edit they haven’t shown anyone expressing any emotion related to that, or even mentioning it that I can recall. I don’t know what that means yet but feel it means something 😂

As a pp said too, all 3 carriages had the same strategy to that task which has to be more than a cooincidence. And the 3 appeared to be big characters and I can’t think the producers would invest in that just to boot them off in the first few minutes.

Lentilweaver · 02/01/2025 09:57

They absolutely will.

Samcro · 02/01/2025 10:19

glad Yin went. I wish they would screaming and crying.

She said she was ordained but plenty of ordained ministers of all religions don't have communities that they lead or take pulpits.

I was religious in my younger days and while I'm not any more, and do like The Traitors, something in me doesn't sit well with a man or woman of the cloth participating in something like this, especially not if they're hiding their supposed calling and hoping to be a Traitor. If I were in her flock it would definitely put me off looking to her for spiritual guidance.

Course they do

They film and reflim the round table toi

It’s definitely an insult to the producers of this amazing show to think they’d let it be as obvious as last two in aren’t Traitors Grin

They did the first time round! Theo said later that none of them had realised they were doing that so they had to start mixing it up a bit.

Ahh I’ve not seen S1!

Episode 1 delivers as always.

I don’t know if anyone watched the latest Australia one (if not spoiler alert ahead) but it was basically a collection of total dumbarses who EVERY round table were going to banish the one very very obvious traitor but then changed their minds at the 11th hour and wondered where they were going wrong. “We just can’t catch these traitors”. You can, and discussed it for 30 minutes until someone said “Maybe it’s Gloria because she has big hair”. It was beyond comical. I reckon this series has the same level of dumbarsery. The ones saying “Julie I’m voting for you as traitor as I haven’t spoken to you yet” - do they know it’s not Big Brother?! What are they doing? Do they think they will banish a traitor with such stupid tactics?

Yep can remember watching the first Australian one and really enjoyed it but ended up screaming at the stupidity of them in season 2 and got fed up with it because you thought oh finally then nope they change their mind for some random reason yet again!

PlumpHobbit · 02/01/2025 10:55

Also I'm sick of all the tears and screeching and screaming

I don't watch hardly any reality tv and usually this doesn't feel like reality tv but the high pitched screaming and all the tears is making it feel like love island! I get it's intense but to have so many of them doing it? Grrrrr!

I could maybe understand in the final when you're so close to winning and risk making the wrong call but now? Come on! Also all women which is frustrating me!

Although it did make me wonder if people overthink it with their Tudor court style scheming and whether there's something to be said for "just kill off anyone who rumbles you"!

CountTo10 · 02/01/2025 11:23

Totally agree regarding the screaming and crying. It is really jarring and all the young women too?! When Claudia turned up it was like a Taylor Swift concert!! You know Claudia's about to come out and speak. Why all the 'OMG it's Claudia and the shrieking along with it'. It certainly wasn't like that in previous series and they had more of an excuse to be surprised.

Are there more women in this group than usual particularly young ones?

Lentilweaver · 02/01/2025 11:25

It's a v young group. Hence why Linda is standing out.
I think they should have chosen a non-descript man as a Traitor. Maybe Minah will recruit Jake or Tyler.

Pumpkincozynights · 02/01/2025 11:28

I found Yin interesting.
She might get hired on TV shows after this, giving her opinion on things.
I would rather have had her stay than some of the others.
God forbid that the only thing you have to do to appear intelligent is go into a library.
I think the 3 who got off the train will come back into the show in one way or another. There is no way on earth that I would have got off the train, I would rather have lost the full £10,000 than step off. I also don’t agree with keeping people in based on what they say they want the money for.
Don’t they understand they are on a game show where the whole premise is founded on lying!
I would rather someone I like have the money that someone get it based on their supposed need.
So enjoying it.

crastinatelikeapro · 02/01/2025 11:30

I know there's editing involved re breakfast (well, all of it), but I'm pretty sure in series 2 they did mix it up where sometimes one of the Traitors was in the last bunch to walk through the door. And one of the potential victims (to the viewers) came in sooner.

I agree re the screeching, I remember thinking, you know Claudia is going to be there, it's not like it's a surprise!

GameOfJones · 02/01/2025 11:51

Regarding the sisters, I think one of them needs to turn on the other quickly. They are too much of a target otherwise as people will inevitably be thinking one of them was bound to be a traitor and even if not, they have an unfair advantage. I agree with Harry on Uncloaked that they have been silly revealing that they're sisters.

Maia has already clocked that Armani is likely one of the Traitors so if I were her I think I'd be bold and call it out. Otherwise Armani is likely to go for her sister to throw the suspicion off her.

Confused765 · 02/01/2025 12:04

This is my first time watching the series and I am absolutely loving it!

I am just wondering though whether the traitors can talk to each other (just the 3 of them) during the day when they are in the house? Or are they banned from that?

Also, is Armani banned from telling her sister that she is a traitor? Again if it was just the 2 of them in a room, and Armani could instruct Maia to go around convincing everyone that they are both faithfuls?

The Traitor's Oath means they are not allowed to tell anyone they are a Traitor or directly reveal the identity of another Traitor. They had to bring it in after S1 where one Traitor basically gave away the ID of another as he was being banished.

The Traitors can talk to each other at any time, but they have to be very careful not to get caught out by the Faithful. As numbers start shrinking people often get suspicious if they see two people talking together quietly. In past seasons they have played on this by getting the Traitors to carry out a murder "in plain sight" so they need to find a way to communicate and agree on a victim without being noticed. I won't say any more than that, but do watch S2 if you can for a great example!

GameOfJones · 02/01/2025 12:53

Season 2 is WELL worth watching if you haven't seen it. It was absolutely brilliant.

I also thought it was a very young group - it will be interesting to see how that impacts the game. It’s a shame that two of the volunteers were two of the ‘older’ players (and I say that very loosely as 38+ is no means old!). The producers have chosen the cast for a reason - I just worry that with herd mentality the older players will be voted out as traitors early by the younger ones and that might limit the game.

Surelythistime · 02/01/2025 13:44

Could the lady who got off the train be the mum of the sisters?

I don't think the programme has form for keeping things like that from viewers; they've brought back players who we thought were gone (but not banished or murdered) but they tell us things like that because they want us to know the full dynamics of the group while the players don't.

It took a little while for the relationship last season to be declared to the viewers didn’t it? Definitely don’t think it was in the first episode.

Yes we had the moment in the diary room a few episodes in (redacted for spoilers for those yet to see it):

”X isn’t my relative.”
<dramatic pause, look down barrel of the lens>
“But Y IS!”
