The most gripping reality game show is back! Tune in to BBC1 at 8pm on New Year's Day.

I'm buzzing!

Did anyone else think Armami was trying to throw Linda under the bus at the round table when she mentioned about an 'older' person potentially being a traitor? She then referred to the other older lady but I thought that was bold if not stupid!

She’s trying to be too clever I think

I love this show, but the bit at breakfast when they come in the door makes me cringe! Had hoped they wouldn’t do it like that this series😣

I agree. Surely everyone's worked out by now that the last two in were amongst the candidates for murder and therefore must be faithful?

CIaudiasFringe · 01/01/2025 23:30

Lentilweaver · 01/01/2025 20:33

yes

I don't even understand the twist at the end. Can someone explain why it is a twist? Why would they care?

Armani is a bloody nightmare "ooh just let me tell whatvthecothers are saying about you..... thought I'd update you on my thoughts so it's all.in the open".

2 episodes later someone will dangle her from a turret.

All the dramatics around whether her sister has survived are pretty silly, too. It's not as if they're not perfectly aware that, if one of them is murdered, they'll only have to wait a couple of weeks or even less before getting together again.

If they're faithful, it's pretty obvious why they'd care, surely?

CIaudiasFringe · 01/01/2025 23:38

To be fair I remember from series 1, it was clocked that the traitors were last in to breakfast so they have changed that. We'll have to see what happens next breakfast.

I mean yes they will care, but will find out eventually won't they? I think the end is one of the highlights.

No she was redirecting. Everyone knew there had been rumours about the older lady but she switched the woman so that everyone started thinking of the priest instead.

healthybychristmas · 01/01/2025 23:47

I think it's pretty obvious if you have two sisters on the show then one will be a traitor and one will be faithful. It just adds to the drama but nobody seems to have thought of that amongst the cast.

It’s all about double bluffs though isn’t it? They could have thought everyone would think that way so not done it but then would everyone suspect that so actually just do it.

hugsandpugs · 01/01/2025 23:53

Love the series! Watched the first episode with DS earlier then realised from reading this thread that episode 2 is on iplayer so now catching up with that! 😂

Currently finding Armani really irritating. I also don’t think Linda will last long as people are starting to notice changes in her behaviour!

Wellfuckmesideways · 01/01/2025 23:55

I reckon Linda will be banished and instead of being given a choice of recruiting a new traitor, one of the 3 who left the train will be sent back in but won't be allowed to show themselves and will have tasks to complete.

ViolinsPlayGentlyOn · 01/01/2025 23:58

Thinking more about the 3 who left the train, I’d like to see a mission where they think they’re rescuing the players they know but the “train 3” have secretly been added so they could end up rescuing them instead.

ShesNotACowShesAFox · 02/01/2025 03:59

Episode 1 delivers as always.

I don’t know if anyone watched the latest Australia one (if not spoiler alert ahead) but it was basically a collection of total dumbarses who EVERY round table were going to banish the one very very obvious traitor but then changed their minds at the 11th hour and wondered where they were going wrong. “We just can’t catch these traitors”. You can, and discussed it for 30 minutes until someone said “Maybe it’s Gloria because she has big hair”. It was beyond comical. I reckon this series has the same level of dumbarsery. The ones saying “Julie I’m voting for you as traitor as I haven’t spoken to you yet” - do they know it’s not Big Brother?! What are they doing? Do they think they will banish a traitor with such stupid tactics?

ShesNotACowShesAFox · 02/01/2025 04:00

Also why is there an orange woman dressed like a 13 year old girl circa 1999.

ShesNotACowShesAFox · 02/01/2025 04:10

CIaudiasFringe · 01/01/2025 23:43

It confused me too but basically when they say “I think Steve is a traitor” and they vote him off Steve usually stands there and clarifies if he is or not. Then they can say “Yay we knew we had one left, let’s end it”. But this time round Steve will keep schtum so they don’t even know if he’s a traitor they just have to guess

Rictasmorticia · 02/01/2025 07:36

First thing I said was far too much screeching. Second, stop with the tears already.

i am so glad mullet got off. I could not bear to see that every episode. I think the first one got off because she thought there would be a twist and she would come back.. As for the Diplomat. Brilliant, he did not think he would have to go. Then the others said goodbye then mate.

Stepfordian · 02/01/2025 07:59

I was surprised that 3 volunteered to get off, if they hadn’t done something similar in the first series and then brought them back I don’t think any of them would have volunteered. I wonder if they won’t bring them back?

There are no tactics at this stage bar staying in. I was surprised it didn't go the usual way of almost everyone voting off the first person to be accused, purely to stay in themselves.

I couldn't watch the Australian one in full, it was just too frustrating. I did pick up the finale and that was just as unsatisfying and annoying, so obvious what would happen and why, and in my view a terrible way to finish such a long running game. No wonder it didn't get picked up for another series. Boring presenter too.

It's funny how at the start everyone wants to be a traitor and says they'd be great at it, they're such good liars and so self-serving etc, and then fall apart when they're a Faithful and people don't believe them.

Surelythistime · 01/01/2025 23:24

Yes they just film and refilm the breakfast scenes surely because otherwise it’s just too big a clue to leave in?

Course they do

They film and reflim the round table toi

CaveMum · 02/01/2025 08:12

Agree there was too much screeching on entering the castle!

Re Armani’s tears, at first I thought she was going way over the top with her “acting”, but when her sister started crying when she walked in and saw her I thought perhaps it was just the way they are with each other - ie if Armani hadn’t been crying her sister would have instantly known something was up.

MsInterpret · 02/01/2025 08:24

dapsnotplimsolls · 01/01/2025 22:00

I've watched the breakfast bit again - they were both very tactile with each other.

We said Linda was very touchy-feely from the start. She was all over the priest, grabbing her arms and big hugs for someone in the kitchen.

It felt like that's just who she is, but personally, I'd feel she was a bit too in my space!

Samcro · 02/01/2025 08:40

I just want to check before I read the thread. is this a tv pace thread. I don't want to spoil it for myself.

NonPlayerCharacter · 02/01/2025 08:41

Does the priest on the show actually have a flock? I have to say I wouldn't like it if I had a minister and they went on a show like that at all, much less if they tried to be a Traitor. Amos in series 1 was a doctor and he wanted to be Faithful because he didn't want patients to feel they couldn't trust him.

Karmaisagod · 02/01/2025 08:53

Yes, @NonPlayerCharacter, I also think there's something not right about a working vicar being there.

Does anyone else think that the three who left the train either were actors or will come back at some point?
