The most gripping reality game show is back! Tune in to BBC1 at 8pm on New Year's Day.

I'm buzzing!

I’ve just listened to Uncloaked and Uncloaked Extra.
I’m glad Yin has gone because she was rather annoying, and referred to herself in the third person.
But, her and Armani would have wound each other up and it would have been something to watch.

Confused765 · 02/01/2025 12:04

This is my first time watching the series and I am absolutely loving it!

I am just wondering though whether the traitors can talk to each other (just the 3 of them) during the day when they are in the house? Or are they banned from that?

Also, is Armani banned from telling her sister that she is a traitor? Again if it was just the 2 of them in a room, and Armani could instruct Maia to go around convincing everyone that they are both faithfuls?

I don’t think they are banned from it, but it would be very foolish ro huddle with other traitors

ViolinsPlayGentlyOn · 02/01/2025 14:52

I would really like someone to go in and play the game doing all the things they think would be too obvious for a Traitor to do. Depending on the Faithful (you’d need moderately intelligent but not super switched on), I think that tactic might get them quite a long way.

Rictasmorticia · 02/01/2025 14:53

I think that the First Lady off the train truly believed that she would be taken straight to the castle and would be waiting for the others. The diplomat got caught out by his own cockiness and Mullet man felt sorry for me. He knew I couldn’t have stood watching him week after week.

Season 2 is WELL worth watching if you haven't seen it. It was absolutely brilliant.

Season 2 is probably the best tv I've seen in a very long time. Those last few episodes were incredible.

What would be the benefit of this - they’d just get voted out immediately, wouldn’t they? Unless they said at the round table that it was all a big double bluff, but then it would be a pointless tactic because everyone would know why they were doing it?

Bluetrews25 · 02/01/2025 15:03

Sorry to say that I don't think that Yin is 'clever'.
She has knowledge, and she wants people to think she is super bright.
If she was truly clever she would have realised that behaving that way would make her a target.
Which it did.
You don't have to TELL people you are bright. Telling people actually shows ignorance. IMHO.

This is why you’d need the Faithful to have the “right” level of intelligence - clever enough to work out that no actual Traitor would play the game so obviously so they must be Faithful / being set up, but not clever enough to twig it’s a double bluff

claudiaswinklemen · 02/01/2025 16:14

I loved this first episode!

I love the suspense of the three who stepped off the train - will they be seen again? It would be deliciously evil and shocking if not.

I don't think it was a good idea to make one of the sisters a traitor, surely you'd have come up with some kind of code?

I really wish Yin hadn't been voted out. She'd make great telly.

Finally, really pleased to see three non-Alpha female traitors after last year's bro-athon.

NonPlayerCharacter · 02/01/2025 16:23

Yeah, I assumed this was why they never made any of the relations/partners Traitors in the previous series. Perhaps they got the impression that these sisters will happily chuck each other under the bus, or don't care if they do communicate it, since they'll probably use it to make good TV.

TheFifthTellytubby · 02/01/2025 16:38

Anyone else reckon Tyler the curtain-haired birdwatcher looks a bit like Hugh Grant in Four Weddings and a Funeral?

BeaLola · 02/01/2025 16:38

I was hoping that the faithful would think surely a sister is a traitor and vote one of them off , followed by the other one if they didn't get it right first time

PlumpHobbit · 02/01/2025 17:00

CountTo10 · 02/01/2025 11:23

Totally agree regarding the screaming and crying. It is really jarring and all the young women too?! When Claudia turned up it was like a Taylor Swift concert!! You know Claudia's about to come out and speak. Why all the 'OMG it's Claudia and the shrieking along with it'. It certainly wasn't like that in previous series and they had more of an excuse to be surprised.

Are there more women in this group than usual particularly young ones?

Exactly you've got it spot on its like a Taylor Swift concert. As a woman it's really annoying me as it just makes all women look screechy, stfu!

I'm another who would have had to be thrown off the train in order to be made to get off it, absolutely no way would i have voluntarily gone. Yes you MAY come back but why risk that you may not.

If you have a PHD, you are clever.
You may have 0 common sense though!

Pumpkincozynights · 02/01/2025 17:24

You See I’d be saying to Yin, analyse my clothing choices!
I would feel wary of Dan & Nathan who both wholeheartedly egged 2 of the contestants to get off the train. They were both vocal in saying someone needs to get off, and I think it was one of them who outright rejected Alex’s idea to toss a coin.
I also would be getting rid of the IVF person at the first opportunity, as I don’t go for ‘I need the mist’ types. I would take everything they said with a pinch if salt.
It would be nice for an older person to get to the final.

NonPlayerCharacter · 02/01/2025 17:40

If you have a PHD, you are clever.

Haha, I very much dispute this!

Same. I’m laughing what a PP said about all comms people they’ve met being absolute melts - I work in the media and couldn’t agree more 🤣

Exactly. If she hadn't been so keen to show off how clever she was she'd probably still be in the show.

NonPlayerCharacter · 02/01/2025 17:46

Is that person a trans man?

I wouldn't get rid of people just because they want the money, everyone wants the money and that's not very strategic for winning. I don't think people really play this game for the money; your chances of getting it are very low. It's much more psychological. I honestly think people are now doing it for exposure, to feel clever or just for the experience. When people lose, they don't seem to be upset that they won't be winning the money. They seem upset that they weren't believed, or were rumbled or betrayed, or can't play any more. Even in the final stages, the prize money is more about heightening drama and the desire to win rather than "if I lose now I won't be able to pay for XYZ."

If I were a Traitor I wouldn't try to sabotage the gunpowder task. I'd go along with it like a Faithful. Better to miss a murder than get banished!

I completely agree with this and said the same to DH last night. If you were really clever you would keep shut about it and try to blend into the crowd a bit more.

Yin definitely came across as neurodivergent on Uncloaked, with the absolute fixation on the impression clothing gives. But wearing that hat I wondered what impression she thought she was giving?

BeaLola · 02/01/2025 18:51

I agree re the gunpowder - play your part as a traitor to stack up as much money as possible for your win

dapsnotplimsolls · 02/01/2025 18:56

Why are people talking about gunpowder???

Romeiswheretheheartis · 02/01/2025 19:00

The traitors are banned from telling anyone they are a traitor. It's one of the pledges they make at the start

Confused765 · 02/01/2025 19:06

I am just absolutely LOVING this show!!!

I am watching series 2 alongside the current series (even though of course I know who won).

It’s such entertaining viewing.
