When pete and maddie find out that their son Theo was swapped at birth they try and ‘play nice’ with Theo’s birth parents

Not knowing what the other couple are planning

A bit improbable but very watchable.

It's gripped me

But

There is no way that any court will give miles both children

May say have to swap back to their dna birth kids

But surely no judge would allow the boy to go to his dna parents but keep their son iyswim

I don't like miles

He thinks as has money he can buy people

I haven't read the book but I felt it was all a bit predictable. Might watch another episode to see if it picks up but I'm not that impressed so far. Also a very unconvincing representation of a guy who can't surf trying to surf - he wouldn't even have got that far on the first go.

I suspect the drama will be how Miles now tries to paint the other parents in court - hence the hospital admission, suggestion mum's having an affair, dad seen drinking in every scene...

I agree - big plot holes and quite predictable but we'll persevere - maybe just watch all of the rest tomorrow to get through it.

Yes, there are plot holes and I did find it a bit slow but maybe now it will get more interesting between the couples

In the flashback, didn't Lucy tell Maddie that her baby might not survive? Maybe she did the swap.

That is what I thought because there is so much legal stuff to untangle that they wouldn’t risk it

Yes I found that preposterous. Nursery age kids lamp each other all the time. If they got immediately excluded there would be none left after a week!

Can't stand Miles and how full on he is. The third time he turned up at their house uninvited my husband and I both shouted "oh just fuck off!" at the TV.
For someone who seemingly earns a fortune, he never seems to do any work as he's too busy lurking around poking his beak in where it's not wanted.

James Norton's character has been drinking & driving in a couple of the scenes

Thats why we’re watching. Husband is from Cornwall and children born there. James Norton’s accent is pretty good.

I'm assuming Lucy swapped the babies as thought hers would die. But of course he (Theo) survives and thrives whereas David has some form of developmental delay so Miles is unhappy with their child. I think David can't walk which is why maddie has been unable to see him.

Not sure why the couple now want both kids ?

I agree think Lucy has swapped them, but I think she has confessed to her husband and they now want him back. There is no developmental delay that's why she won't let Maddie see David, just an excuse as to why they did a DNA test

Plus maybe with the drinking , miles said his wife Lucy didn't ever drink

So maybe they say Madeline drank via her preg and why David has global delay

Our grandchild has completely different colouring to his parents. They are dark haired/dark blonde haired, both with brown eyes. He’s flaxen haired with blue eyes. It happens.

It’s got awful plot holes and a bit slow apart from full on wannabe Daddy to both children, but I’ll be watching. Assuming there will be some twists and turns along the way.
