I also think that Helen Worth is quite unwell, and she seems quite frail. I imagine this might have dictated the direction the scriptwriters have taken. I hope she gets a fitting send off, she was a good character back in the day, her fights with Eileen were always fun.
Love how Sally is warming towards Mason, he seemed so thrilled to be having Christmas dinner with her and Tim, it was a sweet scene.

Gail is still great in Classic (2005). She has always had terrible judgment about men but she wasn't an idiot until the last ... dunno - 6 or 7 years? I agree it seems like Helen has been ill but that is no reason to make her character a simpleton.

I love Peter but he hasn't had a good storyline in years. He was a brilliant drunk!

To say Dee Dee is a Solicitor she’s not got much fight in her. Making out Lauren should just plead guilty because the prosecution will destroy her. That’s the job of the prosecution to make you a total twat. The job of the deference is to defend and put reasonable doubt there every step of the way. It’s not to advise people to roll over and curl up. If every deference Solicitor thought like that there’d be no need for any Solicitors because every potential criminal or accused would just plead guilty so they wouldn’t need or be getting any deference

I would think the fact Joel tried to abort her child and injured her so badly they assumed she was dead, would be enough to get her off with manslaughter at the very least.

As a juror I wouldn't give a shit if she went there with the pure intention of pulverising his brain. I'd happily find her innocent and would wait around after to pat her on the back 😂

It wasn't DeeDee who gave her that advice about pleading guilty was it, did I miss a scene? It was her own solicitor. She might get away with manslaughter, but that would still be a few years in jail.

There was no proof he injured Lauren, and the charge re Frankie never got to court so I'm not sure they could even mention it? The viewers know he was evil, but a jury wouldn't.

Has Max actually been charged with perverting the cause of justice? Angela Harris got 8 years for that yet Max is parading around outside fostering babies.

What's happened with Sally and Tim? I don't even remember seeing them.

Sally invited Mason to stay for Christmas in a really sweet way. She said Tim had got all 5 Die Hard films to watch and perhaps Mason might want to watch them with him, 1 a night , taking them up to Christmas day.

Also... as a juror who hadn't watched corrie and knew nothing of Joel... one look at his creepy as fuck parents would tell me all I needed to know 😂

Theres so much speculation about Max being the potential father of Frankie. I can’t see it. Surely if him and Lauren had done the deed, she’d have had Max pegged as maybe being the father, and sorted a blood test as a potential bone marrow match already? The fact that neither of them have said “Hold up, you/I could be Frankie’s Dad, you/I should have a test pronto” suggests that it never happened.

Maybe a ghost of Christmas past type thing - Scrooge ?!
