I don't remember seeing her in there for years though. It's always jam packed with cops nowadays.

Oh gosh yeah you're right! Only 2 years between them. I thought Carla was about 6-7 years older than Tracy, not just 2. I'm not saying she looks it, but yeah she is more grown-up than Tracy who seems to continually act like she's 19. In my head Tracy was 43-44 and I know Carla is nearly 50, because she mentioned her 50th birthday coming up recently. So I thought 6-7 years difference, not just 2!

Yes, she part owned it with Roy (think roy bought Alma's shares) , then I think she sold her share to Hayley.

I don't mean this patronisingly but with characters not being shown, we have to remember we don't know what is going on in their real life's so might suddenly need time off. Plus I think ITV have been trying to cut costs so have less cast working as well as balancing the sharing out the work.

And also on a bit of a serious note, non-regular appearances mean non-regular wages, thus necessitating more of them to seek other opportunities like panto and other seasonal productions & appearances. Rehearsals for these are time-consuming and start early. Bit of a Catch 22 for the actors.

But I agree with pp that the writers could up with better stories and lines than 'skint character with many young children goes on expensive train ride to visit a never-before-heard-of-friend in Portsmouth' and 'yeah, go on then, we'll have an unrelated baby living with us for maybe 15 years'.

The mention of Carla and Tracey's ages make me feel old.I remember going to collect my two sons from Primary School in 1977 and Tracey's birth was one of the topics of conversion amongst myself and the other mothers.
But after all I am a great grandmother now, so a lot of water has passed under the bridge since then!

I do sometimes wish Corrie would revert back to half hour episodes. There's definitely an over reliance on certain characters Swain and it's making it boring. Eastenders has 30 min episodes and it's miles better.

I watch Classic and Gail is in and out Roy’s Rolls all the time, in the episode I’ve just watched she’s having a cuppa with Audrey and her latest on off boyfriend the reflexologist has popped in as well, though Gail is giving him the cold shoulder. She looks so good in classic her hair looks lovely, all blonde shiny and bouncy.

I wonder what the big Christmas storyline will be?

I think Gail and the Platts in general are destined for the xmas storyline. Assuming Gail ever turns up again of course!

Surely Lauren will be sorted by Christmas and back with Franky. And Bobby.

Christmas will be Gail getting married and leaving I expect. Then there's Deedee's baby. I think on Christmas eve she'll suddenly smile, look up to heaven and realise how much she wants it. 😇

Just seen a spoiler online about an unbelievable upcoming storyline. It's so ridiculous I'm hoping it's not true!

How more ridiculous can it get? Honestly it’s absolutely dreadful, when did Coronation Street turn into The Bill?

It's not one of those ridiculous fan theories is it? The kind where they use inverted commas in the headline and make it seem as if it's fact 🙄

Or when the What's On TV magazine has a huge headline that says 'Lauren dies???'

So it's a question, and not a statement of fact IYSWIM! To try and make people think she IS going to die!

The worst are the FB groups - I'm not a member of them but they always come up on my feed. They put one of those stupid headlines up then there's hundreds of comments about how ridiculous the writers are etc. Often the original headline was actually somebody joking like "perhaps Joel has an evil twin" but people actually take it as gospel and bizarrely think this could actually work or say they can't believe how stupid the show has become.

It worries me just how gullible people are sometimes!
