Bake Off 24 Part Two: a meltingly light and fluffy thread taking us all the way to the final.

The last thread filled up fast in a heated debate about Alison's acrobatic antics. Join us here for the last two episodes.

Whose patisserie will carry them through the semi final and who will experience the frustration of missing out on the final 3? Will anyone fall off a stool, workbench or just trip over their own feet? Will the finalists surpass their previous efforts or will the last showstopper be a series of damp squibs? Not long to find out.

Christiaan was robbed

Maggiethecat · 26/11/2024 21:16

Dylan at a Michelin star restaurant 😊

Does the winner have to make a career out of it?

Quite a few don't. And she might grow into it once she starts believing in herself a bit more. She'll get massive exposure over the next few weeks, if she wants to make something of it she'll get lots of chances.

That's unfair and possibly based on something other than her baking?

Not her fault but Paul had a little crushie, didn't he?

Hedjwitch · 26/11/2024 21:16

I agree. Her meltdown in the semi final was embarrassing.

Hobnobswantshernameback · 26/11/2024 21:16

I would have been happy with anyone but I think that was fair

Love that Nelly and Andy are best mates.

Me too!

I'm glad Dylan has got the job he wanted. Georgie was a worthy winner, that cake looked amazing and Paul is right she does great British flavours.

I'm already missing Bake Off. Now off to look for an elderflower and lemon cake.

CrushingOnRubies · 26/11/2024 21:17

I'm not convinced Georgie should have won. But I'm happy for her.

I love that Dylan has got a job in a Michallin star restaurant

Not her fault but Paul had a little crushie, didn't he?

I didn't see anything at all to suggest that. And it is a charge levelled at every youngish attractive contestant, it's really not fair as it belittles their skills.

Did he? Not that I noticed.

So sad about Dawn. I read last month that she'd applied 10 times before she got on, thought "I'd love to talk to her about that", looked her up and she'd died. So sad and really no age at all.

I wonder if he could tell them he was a bake off finalist? It won't do him any harm in future, certainly.

I don't think it was embarrassing. It's a pressurised environment. I did think that the fact she had that experience in the semi final probably meant she'd be less stressed in the final.

Hobnobswantshernameback · 26/11/2024 21:21

thanks peeps
its been fun
See you for the Xmas and Hogmanay specials

Dylan should have won, but he didn't have a good final.

Appalonia · 26/11/2024 21:14

So Dylan has achieved his ambition, good for him!

I'm happy about that.

cuddlebear · 26/11/2024 21:22

Yes, Dawn was only a few years older than me. Very sad.

I am so chuffed for Dylan. I wonder which restaurant he is working at. Amazing achievement.

Really enjoyed the series. Nelly was my favourite ❤️❤️❤️

Probably ADHD overwhelm.

Agree. I get sick of reading this every single year about a contestant. It's incredibly unfair on them.

KnickerlessParsons · 26/11/2024 21:25

Itstoday · 26/11/2024 21:14

With that many people at the final how does it not get leaked who won?

I thought the same about The Voice. That final was filmed months ago too.

GetSetFake · 26/11/2024 21:25

NotMeForBakeoff · 26/11/2024 21:22

Did she mention that and I missed it?

Gutted for Christiaan. The second they commented on his showstopper flavours my heart sank.
Like Georgie. Don't think she should have won based on all three challenges.

LillyPJ · 26/11/2024 21:26

FormerlySpeckledyHen · 26/11/2024 21:13

Georgie was best on the day , so fair result, but Dylan is the overall winner of the series.

I agree. Dylan's done some brilliant things but Georgie was best today. I'm glad she won now.

ChessieFL · 26/11/2024 21:27

I think it was the right decision based on the performances across the final, but Dylan was the best across the whole series.
