This is our tenth anniversary of sharing our thoughts on Our Girl series one and have subsequently watched the other three series, followed by Soldier Soldier, The Musketeers, Spooks and Hustle so thought it was time to try something different. Blimey, Richard announces his engagement to Mary in the paper and she didn't know about it.

Mary is engaged. His Lordship reads it in the paper. Very high handed of Sir Richard

The minister is the loathsome Simmerson from Sharpe. And Violet is being superb.

Violet tells the Vicar exactly why he needs to marry William and Daisy without any complaint.

Meanwhile, Ethel finds some work as a scrubber...well, if the cap fits.

The vicar - what else have we seen him in? I feel he could be a German officer during some war series or other.

Violet is going to work her magic on him with only a small amount of blackmail involved.

Good old Violet sorts the Vicar out

Here's the new maid. Bursting in on Lord G.

Mrs Bates seems to be implying the new maid who is a widow may in fact be telling a "story" whereas Ethel never thought of that!!

Not the most auspicious of starts for Jane.

Daisy looks like she's in shock. She must feel awful. True she's not the blushing bride.

Ah, they've made such an effort to make it look nice. I feel a tear in my eye too, Violet.

Mary and Matthew - a sad version of 'their' music. Lavinia has gone and Mary is still there as his nursemaid.

Matthew blubs when he sees his mum.

By the way Rhu, I'd forgotten about the Christmas special. My DVD doesn't include that so I've found it on eBay for a few weeks time.

Yes a sad ending indeed. However as always plenty of other stuff going on in that episode. Haven't seen the end of Mrs Bates and her shenanigans methinks. See you next week and I will endeavour to know what day it is.
