Apologies if there is already a thread on this. I've just seen an advert saying this is back on ITV at 9pm tonight. I really enjoyed series 1. I guess this will be difficult as the parents will know that their kids are watching them? I'm interested to see how they change it up.

I enjoyed it. It made a refreshing change to have people show some respect to each other, unlike MAFS where they just shout and swear at each other.

I thought it was odd that we didn't see much of the parents who hadn't coupled up. Agree that there should have been more dates for them.

I'd like to see some older women. And some women that represent the real world. Jenny's outfit for her last date was awful! Basically pants and bra with a lace bodycon dress over the top. Completely inappropriate for a daytime date. Not sure what she was thinking!

It's hard to believe that these women can't find a relationship in the real world. They were all stunning. If they can't find someone there's little hope for the rest of us 🤣

Veryoldandtired · 27/09/2024 22:55

Well I enjoyed watching it but it was really cringy. Forced connections and friend zone central.

BigLicks · 27/09/2024 23:00

I loved every minute of it, roll on season 3!

JustGotToKeepOnKeepingOn · 27/09/2024 23:00

@Romeiswheretheheartis I think anyone who goes on this show is very brave! It's a great opportunity to meet someone who genuinely seems to want to have a relationship.

I'd do it... but don't want to go on telly! Would love to go to a 2-week retreat with people who are all single and want to meet someone. It's so so hard at 50+ to meet a man who's single and actually wants a relationship. But I'm not overly keen on telling the world all my insecurities!

fairydust11 · 27/09/2024 23:29

@JustGotToKeepOnKeepingOn I completely agree about Jenny's final date outfit, it was totally ott for a daytime date.

Are Jenny and Danny still together? Apparently they were on this morning the other day, sat far apart…and danny has posted a photo of himself with one of the women from the first series which sounds a little odd.

1twa · 28/09/2024 10:25

I'm watching it for the house alone!

Devastatedandblue · 28/09/2024 16:09

Danny and Jenny ARE still together. They've given an interview today.

Thanks for the update I was reading on social media yesterday about the This morning interview & them sitting far apart (although hadn’t seen it myself), I did wonder if that was because the final episode hadn’t been aired at the time.

NeelyOHara1 · 29/09/2024 20:11

I though D's description of being OK with his own company eventually descending into depression was very poignant.

crispychickenwings · 30/09/2024 22:42

Christian admitting to having a boner touching Steph😂😂

Stellaellaella · 03/10/2024 20:15

I loved it! I found it so refreshing not seeing drama and arguments like in MAFS, Love Island etc and I loved the update. I thought they were all very likeable. So funny how differently we all feel about it!

TwistedWonder · 03/10/2024 20:27

I was on holiday so just binge watched the whole series.

Im disappointed tbh. Really enjoyed the first series but just found this year slow and dull.

I was so looking forward to this series but just felt the whole thing was meh

TitsInAbsentia · 05/10/2024 11:09

I finished watching yesterday. It definitely lacked some of the fun from the first series but obviously the element of surprise from the kids watching was lost so that would have been a factor.

I think what I liked most was some of the parents just working out what they wanted out of life, and that they were good people etc. There has to be merit in spending time with people of your own age that you don't know to help you if you're stuck in a rut or at a juncture of your life where you aren't sure what next. Hope they've got some good friendships out of it if nothing else.

And yes, I'll probably still watch s3 because I watch too much telly!

BIossomtoes · 06/10/2024 10:17

I’ll watch S3 because I really enjoyed it for the reasons you did @TitsInAbsentia. My only reservation was bringing Paul back, were they really that short of appropriate male applicants?

TitsInAbsentia · 06/10/2024 11:12

Yes Paul didn't add anything did he, not like he was an amazing personality to liven things up!

User14March · 06/10/2024 11:23

@TitsInAbsentia I wonder if they thought a natural match for Steph re: Paul? As she wasn’t s good fit with other men.

Choux · 06/10/2024 11:32

I think they have the originals sorted and who might fit well with who and then a few potential late arrivals who they think the OGs will like and then then select who is needed based on who is getting on already. They need the atmosphere to stay positive and be reinvigorated.

Paul was an odd choice being a returner but we don't know if he was always set to make a comeback or if he was a reserve who they had as he knew he would be open and fun. Someone else may have had to drop out of going in leaving Steph without anyone and the men in serious need of a bit more liveliness. Christian, Chris (were there two C's?) and D didn't really make compulsive viewing.

Twonewcats · 08/10/2024 21:40

Apparently Vicky and D are making a go of it

longhauler · 10/10/2024 13:46

Just finished this series. Really d notes it. They are all 5-10 years older than me but I found it refreshing how emotionally mature she respectful of each other they were - so nice to see. Also the children all seemed lovely and accepting / respectful and pretty clued up in their observations.

Really loved Danny and Jenny and thought they were this years Roger and Janey - always laughing and genuinely happy together.

D and Vicky - I liked them but would be less surprised to hear they'd split up. A lot of insecurity and poor communication I think.

Steph was my least fave as I couldn't read her at all and I'm not sure why we didn't find out more about her really. She was a bit of a closed book. Paul kept on saying she was intriguing and mysterious but as it went on I began to wonder if she was actually just a bit dull? She had the sort of classic glamorous beauty which makes one assume there must be an interesting person beneath the surface, but was there?

Also whilst she is completely stunning she looked older than 44 to me? Don't get me wrong I'd bloody love to look like than at 44.

NeelyOHara1 · 11/10/2024 19:11

I think the trick is to watch the first 2/3 episodes then fast forward to the final one, lol.

User14March · 11/10/2024 19:44

@longhauler Was Steph in it to quietly promote her retail business in her locale in a quiet way? In the real world I’d be astonished & aghast if she ever struggled for dates etc. She dressed very conservatively in that she showed v little flesh or body con stuff as per others. She had class, elegance & real style.

Oh, I didn't know she had a business to promote?

Anjelika · 13/10/2024 18:40

@longhauler I was going to say, if that was her intention then she did a very bad job of it as I watched the whole thing and have no idea what she does for a living.

User14March · 13/10/2024 19:03

@longhauler people google & classy/quiet edge from publicity possibly.
