Fraser on channel 4

I would love to know how many times Fraser has looped on channel 4 mornings, its got to be over 20 years of being shown now. I love seeing the first series with Frasers hair down to his his shoulders and Marty Cranes bad attitude, which suits his character so much better than the soft agreeable Marty we end up with , I still laugh even though I've seen them a few times, I've never actually seen them all the way through to the end.
If anyone actually knows how many times the series has restarted I would like to know lol

Actually this is probably my answer to ‘If you could only ever watch one show again’. I could probably watch Frasier on loop for the rest of my days.

Apparently Grammar was a terrible drunk and awful but could turn it on in an instant.

The cast staged an intervention and he went to rehab. That's why Niles took the lead part in Head Game. It was written for Frasier.

I haven't watched Frasier in years but randomly ended up watching it while cooking this morning. DH came into the kitchen and got sucked in to the plot. I'd genuinely forgotten how good it was.

A very young Dr Cox from Scrubs was in it as a hot plumber. I didn't recognise him but could instantly tell that this was obviously someone who was going to go on to acting success.

GoldenCactus · 14/09/2024 13:46

Has anyone been watching the reboot? I was prepared to hate it based on initial reception from critics but it's better than I expected. Also, Freddy is [fans self]

CarmelaBrunella · 14/09/2024 13:47

It wasn't an attache case. It was a valise.

I can watch it over and over, absolutely love it. Must admit the later episodes when Daphne and Niles are a couple are nowhere near as good as the earlier ones though. The writing is so so good and all of the characters are fantastic.

So hard to choose a favourite episode, but I do love the ski chalet one, the one mentioned upthread by @Twistybranch where Martin introduces Sherry, and any episode featuring Lilith

I love them as a couple! I loved them having to hide it, and Daphne getting fat and niles never noticing Grin

BigJean · 14/09/2024 13:50

I’m rewatching these at the moment.
It’s one of the only shows that makes me laugh out loud.

PuppyMonkey · 14/09/2024 13:55

I had Paramount + for a bit last year and I sat down and watched the whole thing in chronological order over the course of about 6 months. DD (17) also loves it too and watched along whenever she could.

I was like PP and had alway thought the later eps when Niles and Daphne got together weren’t as good. But it’s actually amazing how many brilliant episodes there still were in that bit. All the Lana ones, “PUT YOUR BROTHER ON!!” for instance.

CarmelaBrunella · 14/09/2024 14:04

Yes, and I loved Kirby and his lessons on US History.

Belovedinfidel · 14/09/2024 14:09

the scene in the “Three Valentines” episode where Niles sets fire to Frasier’s couch after a series of unfortunate events makes me howl every time I see it!

This is the most perfect opening scene of any sitcom ever. It’s like a perfect silent movie and Niles is absolutely brilliant in it.

MrsEmmelinePankhurst · 14/09/2024 14:20

Niles is my favourite TV character ever.

For those who’ve never seen it, here is the Valentine (ironing) scene. Please enjoy! m.youtube.com/watch?v=0Rp7uoqvvfY

I've been watching David Hyde Pierce and Sarah Lancashire in Julia on Sky. He is such a good actor. Bebe Neuwirth is also featured as their friend, she is as wonderful as ever.

Whatwouldnanado · 14/09/2024 14:30

DH and I love Frasier and have the dvds. Clever writing, hilarious and great performances. Haven’t seen any of the sequel though.

CoodleMoodle · 14/09/2024 14:32

My favourite is still the Christmas episode where Fraiser is pretending to be Jewish, and Niles walks in dressed as Jesus Grin

"Jesus!"

Thank you. You’ve just reminded me of this. I started to watch it towards the end of a long flight and absolutely loved it. I fully intended to keep going when I got home and promptly forgot.

WandaFishy99 · 14/09/2024 14:44

No idea how many times it's restarted but it's one sitcom that, for me, never dates. Such fabulous writing and casting. The only episodes I'm not keen on are the ones with Daphne's brothers. Simon was so annoying with that ridiculous accent. I found her mum annoying too but at least her English accent is genuine!
Favourite characters for me are Roz, Bulldog and Bebe. The second two are so horrible they're brilliant.

YourHangryQuail · 14/09/2024 14:45

I hate Fraiser so much and would be so happy when King of Queens was on instead.

Mirren22 · 14/09/2024 14:48

I think it's my favourite programme. I've just started rewatching it with my morning cuppa. It's just a cosy nice watch. I enjoy when they are in their local cafe.

Evasmissingletter · 14/09/2024 14:49

Doctor Crane, your glockenspiel has sprung to life!

Cecilly · 14/09/2024 15:18

The one where they have a dinner party at Maris' beach house and they dress up a dead seal in Maris' nightie is so funny too!

PuppyMonkey · 14/09/2024 15:21

Nah, I’ve tried but King of Queens is nowhere near the quality of Frasier.

I don’t mind Everybody Loves Raymond tbf. Marie is amazing.

Floralnomad · 14/09/2024 15:28

I prefer the later episodes , so many great episodes and moments though. I’m not keen on the ones with Daphnes brothers . I’ve not watched the sequel because a) there is no Niles and he’s the best character and b) I cannot watch anything with Nicholas Lyndhurst in
