So, currently broadcast (and just caught up with) Friday 2nd August. Recap:

Lauren - given birth to baby boy at 24 weeks after Joel hid labour inducing drugs in her soup
Jack - been charged with arson with intent to endanger life (Hope seemed pleased!)
Paul - going to donate his corneas to MND research, much to Bernie's dismay
Beth - lost box of fake t-shirts and told Carla where to stuff her job

What else?

I thought Tracy actress had quit the soap. Am sure I read it. I've never liked the character.

Felt a bit more old school Corrie last night.

@TellingBone yes I'm sure there must be something 'interesting' in the stuff that fell out of Gail's case, but we didn't really see anything other than a stuffed toy.

I agree re Mary receiving the news of Tracy's return - bizarre. I used to loathe Tracy, she was such an awful character 20 years ago, but she works well with Steve nowadays.

I'm looking forward to it all kicking off when Traceyluv finds out about Rowan trying to get his grubby mitts on Amy's inheritance. Hope there're no heavy objects nearby when she does....that won't end well for him.

Is there something hidden in the cuddly toy?

Oh yes, could be something hidden, or the sight of it provokes a memory from Gail (it was her case). If Gail ever turns up on screen again we'll find out!

Jack P Shepherd is one of the few actors who made the transition from brilliant child actor to brilliant adult actor, David lifts every scene he's in.

Another David fan here 🙂. The actor seems to be having fun with every scene he's in. Always has a cheeky smile 😁

@JewelleryCat yes, I think you're right about Tracey and Tommy. She wasn't bothered enough to return for Ken's pelvis but now she suddenly wants to see Amy.

Love David and Nicks banter, it was great. But I always love David and his one liners anyway 😂

On TikTok (maybe elsewhere also) the David, Nick and Craigy actors have a good podcast/video series.

It's @onthesofashow and they have a really good banter between them.

I used to really like Mary, thought she was one of the best characters in Coronation Street, but for a while now she just seems to be embarrassing rather than entertaining & interesting.
True that David gets all the best funny lines, ( &!he delivers them so well, like he’s not acting at all ) but I wish they’d refocus on Mary and bring her back from the brink of ridiculous.

I totally agree with this. She was great but now she is just bordering on ridiculous and its almost a bit embarrassing to watch.

Tracy shouldn’t expect to fall back into Steve’s arms. She ran to Spain and it’s been nice seeing Steve with some other women so I’m not sure the writers should put them back together

I know what you mean. Tracy was a truly awful character for many years and I hated her getting together with Steve after she spent what seemed like decades ruining his relationships with Karen and Becky.

But Steve is now a ruined character himself, so I am not really bothered by who he's with. She's a better option than Cassie and there are no other options apparently!

What about Demi who he’s been out with? She seemed alright

Steve said (last week) that he didn't feel a spark with her, and it wasn't going anywhere. Demi is quite decent looking, but I find her a bit annoying. JMO.

I think they used to live together, didn't they?
