So, currently broadcast (and just caught up with) Friday 2nd August. Recap:

Lauren - given birth to baby boy at 24 weeks after Joel hid labour inducing drugs in her soup
Jack - been charged with arson with intent to endanger life (Hope seemed pleased!)
Paul - going to donate his corneas to MND research, much to Bernie's dismay
Beth - lost box of fake t-shirts and told Carla where to stuff her job

Deirdre and Blanche were brilliant. I'm becoming Blanche. It's wonderful.

What a smashing actor Blanche was, perfect timing, deadpan delivery!

I wonder where they're going with this Bethany storyline. Something to do with not having full travel insurance and not being able to get her home again, maybe? Or just highlighting the perils of having - unnecessary in Bethany's case - surgery abroad?

Sarah is really getting in my nerves

She is always ruining other people's relationships. She didn't even mention Harry

Sarah is a horrendous hypocrite. I wish Daniel would tell her where to go.

I would be quite pleased if they had to leave Bethany in Turkey 😆Sadly they will get her back somehow. Sarah is a fool, she could do with some support rather than sending Daniel away (even though he's a starchy pillock).

I had got to like Bernie, now I've gone off her again. She's railroading everyone into 'yay, party' when clearly Gemma would just like to be sad. Is Dev ever going to turn up?

Swain is the new DeeDee, in every scene in every episode.

Claire Sweenie looks like she’s been to Turkey for some surgery too.

Bethany is going to fall out with Sarah when she finds out what she’s said to Daniel.

How will they get Bethany back? If she wasin Thailand Jason could look after her. Assuming his broken whatever is better. Eileen could rekindle her dislike of the Platts.

What a massive bellend Daniel was to launch into a self-defensive rant when Sarah came back from speaking to the doctor. It's not all about you, mate, even if Sarah seems to be saying it is.

To be fair, as much of a pillock as Daniel is, the five minutes between him talking to Daisy and then trying to ring Bethany, and getting voice mail, would really have made no bloody odds to Sarahs passport at all - it wasn't Bethany ringing him, it was the hospital...

And he was telling Daisy (with whom he has to maintain a relationship for his childs sake) 'sorry love but I've moved on, you should too'...

Sarah was being absolutely vile. One second 'its your fault you don't tell her she's beautiful often enough' and the next 'oh well thats just words'... Bethanys insecurities are not Daniels fault, particularly as they only appeared last week, and Sarah hadn't noticed either!

Sending him away and then not telling Bethany thats why he had gone is truly awful!

Anyway... setting my outrage aside...

Adams hair has clearly quit and got a better offer elsewhere... it's gone!

Interesting to see where the stoma storyline goes.

It wouldn't have made a jot of difference if Daniel had answered the phone as soon as it rang. Surprised Todd wasn't involved, I think he is Bethany's Dad. Where was Gail or even Nick.
The stoma will be forgotten in a few months like the other life threatening or life changing accidents and illness' other characters have experienced.

But Todd isn’t Bethany’s dad. I don’t think Todd was even in it when Sarah got pregnant at 13 but he is Billy’s dad

@WiddlinDiddlin I agree, the writing for Sarah was awful. Daniel is pretty unbearable though.

The stoma storyline will go the way of every other medical storyline in Corrie including Jack’s leg and Tracey’s kidney. Never mentioned after the first year.

Bethany was about 2 when Todd was with Sarah. The current Adam has recently arrived in Classic Corrie and he was a much better actor in those days. Or maybe just a better character. I had forgotten Sarah was all over him back then.

Sarah was telling Bethany how beautiful she was, how she didn't need any surgery and how she accepted her own looks and flaws, whilst sporting a freshly filled top lip.

I couldn't get over Bethanys bust....it seemed pushed up do far it was nearly higher than her head !

I had a stoma for 2 years before it was reversed after having bowel cancer so very interested in what they do with this.

I hope the Turkish doctors are just giving a worst case scenario. I can't cope with a long medical drama. I'm sure the hospital in weather field can rescue her from a lifetime of stoma.

They aren't going to treat this any more seriously than any other of the medical issues. I think most of the drama will be around getting her home, and Bethany doing a lot of wailing and screeching (no change there). Then they will completely forget about it.

Yep the stoma will go the same way as Jack's false leg.

I did find myself wondering why Turkish ICU had access to such good bras! And why they thought patients needed them.

Who is looking after Sarah's child who is called Harry I think? Is Ken minding him as well as Bertie?

David is looking after Harry, he mentioned it yesterday - Harry was upstairs and he called up to him. Poor Harry is completely ignored even when Sarah is there.
