So, currently broadcast (and just caught up with) Friday 2nd August. Recap:

Lauren - given birth to baby boy at 24 weeks after Joel hid labour inducing drugs in her soup
Jack - been charged with arson with intent to endanger life (Hope seemed pleased!)
Paul - going to donate his corneas to MND research, much to Bernie's dismay
Beth - lost box of fake t-shirts and told Carla where to stuff her job

Also, I am so sick of Billy. The absolute cheek of him - denying Bernie a knees-up type of funeral with all of the Religion/God stuff, because his Faith means soooooooooo much to him! He hasn't been to Church in 3 years. And he is a Vicar! Actually isn't he meant to be an Archdeacon?! That's a senior position in the Church! He would spend half his life in the Church/in his job. So stupid!

When Bethany first returned from Milan she did have an eating disorder for a while. From what I can remember she didn't get on with the girls at school and became obsessed with her weight. This may have been what led her into her relationship/grooming with Nathan

I am sure I read somewhere on the internet ( correct me if wrong) that the actress who plays Bethany is pregnant.Corrie will have to have a storyline to explain her absence while on maternity leave so this is the reason for the sudden body dysmorphia.Bethany will have to be"sent away" for treatment.
Billy makes me sick.Corrie writers seemingly have not got a clue about vicars and their duties, so have completely made a parody of him.

Oh gosh - now you have said this, I do have a little flicker of that. I think she did have a bit of an eating disorder didn't she? I had forgotten about that. Thanks for the reminder. It's been so long though, and the storyline hasn't been touched on again. (AFAIK.)

Yeah I just looked it up, Lucy Fallon is pregnant. Not sure when she's due. Early 2025 I think.

I didn't realise Swain was not Betsy's biological mother, someone said so on here. I thought she would have said something nasty to Swain about not being her real mum, as they have so many arguments.

I'm pretty sure swain is Betseys biological mum.

I thought Lisa Swain’s wife who died was Betsy’s biological mum but could be wrong.

Would take me most of a day to do, cutting out all the pieces, piecing them together and then making the cushion.

They had what appeared to be a few hours!

I also reckon Wendy said to Abi she was her last foster case... definitely remember that!

Don't remember Bethany's eating disorder but then they have to make almost all the young women have something like that at some point or another and then its gone after a couple of weeks, never to be mentioned again!

It would take me a week and even then it would end up as a duster!

My memory re Swain/Betsy was that during one of her initial talks with Carla, Swain said that Betsy's bio mother (Becky) had died. When Betsy mentions her, she refers to her as 'mum', but she probably calls Swain mum too.

I don't remember Bethany's eating disorder from way back, thanks for the reminder. It hasn't been referred to at all this time round has it? Then suddenly she's had liposuction and got sepsis within two days. No build up at all.

Yes I thought the same! And she seemed to have the procedure and end up in ICU pretty quickly, she was only flying to Turkey the last episode!

So you can just rock up and get Liposucked as a walk in patient now 🤔😯...in a Turkey clinic ....

Or was she doing investigation journalism....try things out ....

Perhaps neither Lisa nor her deceased wife are Betsy’s (Bio mum). They could have hired a surrogate. She could have been adopted.

No she definitely sad in the beginning that the wife was the bio mum

So much to talk about in last night's episode, but the stand out for me, was Daniel/Danny's throwaway line that Ken, the cripple who needs a carer, was "happy to have Bertie" while he swanned off to Turkey. A lively five year old will have Kenny run ragged. And where's he going to sleep? Ken and Deirdre in one room, Steve McDonald in another, Traceyluv in another - where will Bertie be?

And where on earth is Bobby. He led the charge on trying to find Lau.

A bizarre idea that Ken would look after Bertie. But Tracey has gone back to Spain, and Deirdre sadly no longer needs a bed.

Perhap's Ken's got a lifesize, blow up, Deidre looky likey with👓

Will Bertie be going on the luxury spa break with Ken and Cassie?

Is he too young to be left in his bedroom listening to his tapes?

And it is an emergency.

Sorry, of course there's no Deirdre! I'm still watching Classic Corrie, and getting the two eras mixed up.
