So, currently broadcast (and just caught up with) Friday 2nd August. Recap:

Lauren - given birth to baby boy at 24 weeks after Joel hid labour inducing drugs in her soup
Jack - been charged with arson with intent to endanger life (Hope seemed pleased!)
Paul - going to donate his corneas to MND research, much to Bernie's dismay
Beth - lost box of fake t-shirts and told Carla where to stuff her job

What else?

Everyone has been, but only in the last couple of weeks it seems. Weird!

Not seen tonights yet so dunno about Pauls cushion.

I imagine it’s a badge from one of his tops

I know so sick of Lauren miserable face and the far fetched Joel codswallop.

That cushion was fashioned rather quickly

I’ve never found out why Gemma and Paul had different surnames. Anyone know?

I think Lauren actress is playing the part well. It’s a rollercoaster having a prem baby. You get past one thing and there’s another test or infection, it’s a long haul of worry.

So glad that they have got Joel for the drugs I haven’t finished the episode yet though so I could be wrong , if Lauren does have to go into foster care could Roy be the one? He fostered back in the day didn’t he?

@Allthehorsesintheworld Paul went to live with his father as a teenager and took his surname. Gemma has Bernie's surname.

I have no problem with the prem baby storyline but most of Lauren's arsey face is due to the endless Joel antics. That storyline should have ended long ago.

Just place marking till I catch up, I haven't noticed Daniel being called Danny but Cassie calling Ken Kenny is getting on my nerves, mind you anything she does gets on my nerves, of all the actresses out there I'll never understand why she was cast in this...rant over, sorry 😁

I really hope this Joel story line comes to its rightful conclusion soon. It’s been going on far too long.

I also can’t stand the way the script writers these days shove everything into the pot at once. It’s almost like how much can we show at once. Years ago they used to deal with one issue at a time. Now for dramatic reasons it’s everything.

Also they never tie up any criminal charges and actively. So we heard the awful institute bloke has been charged and no doubt that’s the last heard of him even though he’s been boring us for months. In fact I’m so bored of him I can’t even remember his name.

Just a thought. What happened to Bobby? Did they send him away with some odd storyline? I really can't remember.

I assume he's still there somewhere as Carla made reference tonight to Ryan sleeping on her sofa - so I guess he Bobby must still have a room?

I was wondering about Bobby. He was so desperate to find Lauren when she went missing but now she's back he's hardly spoken to her.

Did Abi have supervision after the birth of Archie? I think she stayed with a former girlfriend of Ken Barlow, think her name was Wendy Crosier.

I'm convinced Bobby is Frankies dad.

I know she’s not a popular character on here, but I actually really like Summer.
Calm, quiet, and says all the right things.

Joel is such a pantomime villain it’s hard to take him seriously.
I miss Rowan from the institute.

I think I would look miserable if I had been through everything Lauren has.

Lisa was so cool and calm when arresting him.
I'm worried he got bail and is going to do something really bad in a narc rage.

There aren't many characters I've wanted to come back but Peter would be welcome as long as he didn't bring Simon with him. 🫤

Oh yes, I miss Peter too.

Yes Peter is a great character (and good actor). But the way things are going they would manage to ruin even Peter. 😞

I said to my friend, I bet Lauren and Frankie end up living with Wendy flaming Crozier, just like Abby and Alfie did.

Well, Wendy rearing her head would certainly put Cassie’s nose out of joint.

I think Lauren’s doing it well too. When she was confronting Betsy she still had that edge to her that’s hard wired in. I think she’ll lose it but glad it didn’t go the minute she gave birth.

I really like Max these days. He's a good friend to Lauren.
