So, currently broadcast (and just caught up with) Friday 2nd August. Recap:

Lauren - given birth to baby boy at 24 weeks after Joel hid labour inducing drugs in her soup
Jack - been charged with arson with intent to endanger life (Hope seemed pleased!)
Paul - going to donate his corneas to MND research, much to Bernie's dismay
Beth - lost box of fake t-shirts and told Carla where to stuff her job

What else?

I thought Joel ordered the drugs himself on line. Didn't the police find evidence of the emails or something.

I don't remember anything about Betsy and the drugs either. I thought Joel ordered them online, had them delivered to DeeDee's flat under the name of E.Smith and then took them off DeeDee and put in his briefcase. Later to mash them up into Lauren's soup. Where did Betsy fit in???

The whole Paul funeral saga is daft, he was well organised with his lists and would certainly have made plans for his own funeral.

Are Daisy & Daniel heading back towards each other?

Pleased to find that I am not the only one puzzled about the link with the drugs and Betsy.

Joel did order the drugs himself. I think Betsy is thinking about some different pills, putting 2 & 2 together and coming-up with 5.

Even if Paul had left full funeral instructions with a solicitor Billy would still know better.
He needs to learn that a deep mahogany tan is going to end in skin cancer.
And God is for life not just for Paul's funeral. The Bishop needs to step in.

I’m glad it’s not just me with Betsy and the pills. Couldn’t see why he’d get her to order them and then be sent to him. Looks like they changed scriptwriters part way through.

I really think Joel should grow an "evil barron" style moustache he can twiddle every time he appears on screen. The whole "he is my son" shouting episodes at the hospital would surely raise concern with hospital staff. Lauren is so obviously very young, neglected and needy. Joel, years older, articulate and a lawyer!
It would certainly set off my alarm bells.

If he got Betsy to order the pills via a card and sent to a fake name it would remove him from the paper trail. Presumably Betsy would have been paid.
Baddies using teens accounts for money laundering happens.
I find Betsy a difficult name to spell and say.

What the feck was Daisy wearing last night?! That purple shiny split side skirt was awful and I'm going to say it TARTY 👀

Just realised what it (Daisy's skirt) reminds me of. Anyone remember Apache dances? Wouldn't be allowed today!

Whats going on with Daniel now, or 'Danny' as he now seems to be called all of a sudden..

She's very anxious and lacking self confidence, everything that comes out of his mouth seems dismissive or even unpleasant at times. The stuff about her showing him her swimwear and it having to be boring didn't come across as funny at all, more controlling and with a nasty edge...

I don’t know why Bethany is comparing herself to Daisy or being paranoid over her. Daniel chose Bethany and I can’t see him going back to Daisy. I think Ryan is having the same thoughts though, especially seeing them playing board games with Bertie and Daniel’s flowers were lilies

I also don't understand how Betsey is connected to the pills. Although to be fair I don't always pay attention though.
I don't know why but I have always found Billy so annoying

I think they've added this in after various bits were filmed to give Betsy and Lisa more to do... so Betsy is supposed to have bought the drugs for Joel, presumably on her card/phone, and then had it delivered to DeeDees flat and Joels paid her back in cash, so theres no direct link to him.

Billy is annoying. That's why.

This Joel business is getting a bit boring. I liked Paul as a character but not keen on this aftermath stuff. What happened to Tracey's footballer friend. He seems to have disappeared.

Tommy O has been packed off to Spain so that Tracey can bob in and out as required, I suppose.

I’m loving the Joel storyline. For me it’s the best they’ve had in years

I'm completely confused by the Joel/random teens storyline. I'm sure they make half of it up on the day of filming as there doesn't seem to be any continuity. And the stupidity of anyone being able to walk into the special care baby unit is very annoying.

I know some posters are bored with Institute story, but I actually enjoy that.

Yep, it seems to be very clumsily done as I can't quite see if its Bethany that has the issue or if its Daniel (now rebranded to 'Danny' despite never having been called that the entire time he's been in it) being a bit controlling/negging/nasty (he has always had a slightly dubious true nature I think!)...

She's gonna come back with a new face/arse/both... and a whole bunch of issues and then decide to write some investigative journalism piece about the horrors of it.

Daisy was so keen on Ryan yet now she's with him she wants Daniel. Daniel is such a sanctimonious pillock. Which is fair enough because he's supposed to be a 'young Ken'.

I switched over to Corrie at 8.30 today, saw Lauren's miserable arsey face and switched back again.
