Couldn't see a new thread (please delete if there is one!)
So, currently broadcast (and just caught up with) Friday 2nd August. Recap:

Lauren - given birth to baby boy at 24 weeks after Joel hid labour inducing drugs in her soup
Jack - been charged with arson with intent to endanger life (Hope seemed pleased!)
Paul - going to donate his corneas to MND research, much to Bernie's dismay
Beth - lost box of fake t-shirts and told Carla where to stuff her job

What else?

Kit will just say nothing. Although he put the equipment away which I thought was near paul when he needed it?
Kit also said something about American cops leaving fingerprints on baddies cars...will his prints be on Nathans van?
Do I care...not really!

Just caught with last Friday's, I think Paul has passed away.
It seemed set up for that with his lack of oxygen scare that Kit didn't mention, Bernie tucking him up in bed, Billy getting drunk with friends and being told not to wake Paul when he returned from his night but to sleep on the sofa.

Yes Ha ha Nick! I said the same myself.
I didn't like the way he was shouting at Leanne who had every right to be sarcastic and upset.

Nooooo

plus feels like a spoiler

Just my own thoughts on the episodes I watch on catch up, very happy to be wrong on this occasion🙁

HurdyGurdy19 · 09/09/2024 19:52

It's no secret that Paul will die. After that episode where he and Billy had a big day out, and everyone thought that he was going to ask Billy to administer life-ending drugs, I've thought they would let Paul die in his sleep.

If he does, I hope it was peaceful. I'm not looking forward to tonight's episode. The actor has been brilliant in the role.

strugglingwithlife · 09/09/2024 20:25

This is horrible 😢

JewelleryCat · 09/09/2024 20:26

It is really horrible. Not peaceful at all. Maybe they should have done the assisted dying route after his last day outside

Allthehorsesintheworld · 09/09/2024 20:27

It is isn’t it, but it’s the reality of the awful illness that’s MND. They can’t make it any differently, I think they’re committed to being as realistic as possible.

i wondered where Asha had got to.

NCTDN · 09/09/2024 20:35

I agree that they're portratying reality.

MichaelAndEagle · 09/09/2024 20:50

Would they deliver that message in the A&E waiting room?

DietQueen2023 · 09/09/2024 20:53

Bernie is amazing

hattimehead · 09/09/2024 20:54

This is being done so well. Hope Billy makes it.

JewelleryCat · 09/09/2024 20:56

🙁😢😭

MichaelAndEagle · 09/09/2024 20:58

Brutal

NCTDN · 09/09/2024 20:59

Not cried like this from tv in agesSad Hope MND charities get more funding as a result.

hattimehead · 09/09/2024 21:00

God I’m bawling my eyes out.

PrincessScarlett · 09/09/2024 21:01

Wow! That was brutal. Agree that Bernie was amazing. I was sobbing when they let Billy say goodbye not knowing he'd already died 😭

Allthehorsesintheworld · 09/09/2024 21:02

Fair play to the writers. Corrie and the other soaps fall down a bit these days but they researched and wrote this carefully and respectfully. Jane Hazelgrove played a blinder in this episode. Hope Billy doesn’t find out.

That bit was incredible. WOW WOW WOW Bernie. Outstanding.

HurdyGurdy19 · 09/09/2024 21:03

That was an amazing episode. I am an absolute wreck.

I hope that the storyline has helped raise a lot of money for the MND charities/research.

JaneJeffer · 09/09/2024 21:04

Hope Gemma doesn't blab

PrincessScarlett · 09/09/2024 21:04

Shows that consulting with Rob Burrows and his family really made the difference with this storyline.

rainbowruthie · 09/09/2024 21:05

Oh so, so sad but so well done

PrincessScarlett · 09/09/2024 21:05

Hopefully Bernie, Gemma and Summer will keep that secret.

EachandEveryone · 09/09/2024 21:25

Why wouldn’t they?

JewelleryCat · 09/09/2024 21:29

EachandEveryone · 09/09/2024 21:25

Why wouldn’t they?

Because they can be blabbermouths but I’m sure they’ll keep this secret from Billy
