Anyone else watching? It’s all kicking off at 6:30pm, apparently with the athletes parade first.

London 2012 OC was remarkable, I’m hoping the French can match that magic!

They should have done the Seine thing (which is a brilliant idea) but done the show in the Stade de France

It can't be much fun to watch, except on TV. And I would have thought there are a few French singers who could have been asked.

This is a bit rubbish, really. And to be not actually be featuring anyone French is a bit pants , all around.

Yup, this is pretty much what I expected - all well and good doing a series of performances across the Seine but performers thrive off of audiences right in front of them, and audiences thrive off of close-up performances.

Its v flat 😩.

They don't leave this stuff to chance. Even if it's not been rehearsed in situ the layout will have been recreated and it will have been rehearsed.

I'd pay Elton to stay away unless he was playing the piano for someone else singing!
