The veena and jay update seemed a little odd he essentially gave her t a commitment ring which means. Nothing.

Noticed in the credits that they had psychologists working with the programme so that's at least something. Am glad Leah let Chad move on. Her flat was hilarious. Talk about not being sure about a committed relationship. She wasn't ready to commit to a bed or a fridge full of food.

As for the others - really surprised that Sarah and Jgoy are still together. I get the feeling though that it suits her to have someone she hardly ever has to see. I mean, it's been three years since the show was filmed and she's only now seeing him again?

As for Jay and Veena - I'm sorry it still gives me the ick. I'm glad he hasn't allowed her family's pressure to force him into a greater commitment than he feels comfortable with. And if he goes to India and it doesn't work out he can always leave.

The most icky one to me is Chad and Leah - just no. He is a creep and she has major daddy issues. Her flat was ridiculous - my 20 yr old DS is more mature than her. So pleased they didn’t last.

I agree Chad and Leah was icky too. I mean, they're both adults, but he was far more like her dad and she even admitted it when he took her to Ikea and bought tools and built her bed for her. He then filled her fridge with food and cooked a meal - something she couldn't do for herself. Jeez - she's 24 not 16! I found her so immature.

But the thing I found really ugh was at the nice hotel where he was behaving like a normal adult and she was like a sulky teen photographing her food and eating with her fingers and yet he STILL found that attractive. Bleugh! It was like watching a dad try and treat his ungrateful daughter to a nice meal out while she sulked and acted out. It was the opposite of attractive.

Just finished the last episode.

Chad and Leah. She never was going to end up with him. Total farce just so she could be on TV. She came across as a complete brat. She needs to grow up. I think he’s traumatised from previous relationships and so she was safe in many ways - young, innocent, far away. But it was completely revolting. The only person I feel sorry for his daughter for being dragged into that mess.

Matt and Maria. 🥰 Their ending and update made me so happy. He has gained so much confidence and he has this quiet steadiness to him. He knew what he wanted and he made it happen. Huge kudos to him. I think they are a lovely couple with a very healthy relationship. His family is amazing too. Wishing them many years of happiness.

Jay and Veena. Surprised me at the end. Well done to him for being firm in his convictions and not railroaded into something he’s not ready for. But he’s still clearly into her and has done things to show that. The whole family Turkey visit is quite the statement. I still don’t think how they started was right, but I tentatively think they may have a shot.

Sarah and Jgoy. She still comes across as shell shocked to me. Maybe it was the TV presence, or maybe something more is going on with her. I genuinely have no idea how this will pan out.

The producers are clearly doing more seasons (since they reached out to me - firm NO!) and I hope they find some more realistic couples willing to show how it works. If it wasn’t for the sincerity of Matt and Maria I would have stopped watching.

I liked Leah in the earlier episodes, but that last episode really showed her up as incredibly immature (both emotionally and intellectually) and actually quite an unpleasant person. She's not even physically attractive - I'm only pointing that out (before I get pelters! 😂) in the context of the suggestions that Chad was only looking for a trophy wife.
I grew to quite like Chad, I think he'll have lots of interest off the back of this, which might do his confidence some good.

Matt and Maria were very sweet, but I'm not convinced it will be happy ever after. I hope it is, but they don't really know each other... Maria will miss her family. Hopefully she gets lots of support from Matt's family (who all seemed lovely).

Chad calling the Scottish lass "baby girl" all the time. I know it's a popular phrase among Americans and Canadians, but it doesn't sit well with me, and she comes across as having issues to me.

I'm not sure I can watch any more.

Saw in the paper an interview with Matt. Saying that he didn’t deserve to go on the show. Talking openly about how him and Maria have been together 5 years, they already met once before the show and talking about how channel 4 helped them with the wedding and getting Maria’s visa approval, she’s only been in the uk one week, 12th June 2024 she arrived it all seems odd. He also mentioned about how he had to keep quiet about the whole thing until after the show ended, Now starting to wonder if the relationship is actually genuine or all based on lies and money. Hmmm 🤔 all seems so twisted.

I was hoping for a better version of 90 day fiance but was strangely disappointed. They were all just so... weird.

I'm an episode behind, only seen up to episode 4.
But these are my thoughts:

Jay and Veena - both nice people. Jay is very socially awkward and would clearly hate life in India. Veena is sweet and kind. I know the age gap is dubious but she didn't know to begin with and has kept things platonic since. The family expectations are way too much.

Jgoy and Sarah - Wasn't expecting this one, thought he would be the manipulative one just wanting a visa and a shag. But it seems like he needs her more, maybe for mothering who knows. She seems oddly blank and negative about it all and their connection on screen seems so forced. As pp said she seems depressed.

Mazi and Dumebi - she seemed super social media focused, trying to be a boss babe etc and he clearly wasn't what she hoped for. Granted he was a bit dull and always late.

Chad and Leah - only seen the first stages of this but he seems like he's pinning all his hopes on her and she seems like a bit of a loose young girl keeping her options open. Daft of him to involve his young daughter in this.

Matt and Maria - again only seen their first meeting but he seems naively odd.

Chad for certain, she said he was 'getting her some bits'.

I'm sure in the first episode Leah was staying with her parents, but after her visit to the USA (and telling Chad she'd chosen him over her UK boyf) she suddenly had her own place - I bet Chad was paying the rent on that place (possibly thinking he'd be living there too at some point).

I've just finished watching.

I didn't think Chad was creepy. I thought he seemed fine, and had the patience of a saint with Leah.
It felt a little bit like a tv Christmas movie for him - lack of confidence after divorce, young confident woman was interested in him, and he got a bit swept up in it all, even booking a castle in Scotland.
He lives with his daughter, so he would have to involve her in certain aspects of it all. He couldn't even begin to consider moving to Scotland if she was against it all.
I'm not sure if I believe that was her home or whether (s)he rented it for Chad visiting. No way she's been sleeping on a duvet at all out of choice, and the appliances hadn't been touched. Very odd.

The biggest concern re this entire programme is that altho it had so much promise, and could have been great, a lot of it was a bit....mocking? Like the daft goofy background music at times.

Leah's daft giggle after every single sentence really started to irritate.

What a spoiled brat she was, whining about staying in a beautiful castle hotel for a night. I mean, at least put on a smile for the very short time you're there to allow Chad to enjoy it.
She clearly wanted to dump him, but sat and actually waited for him to suggest it first 😡

And I'm assuming Matts surname is Warburton, and not Waburton, as it said on his boxers 😬

Saw over on X the show was fake, edited and scripted. Says that Jgoy and Sarah only been dated 2.5 years they started dating in 2021 also says that Sarah was suffering bad with her mental health due to a health condition. Not sure what though. Says she wasn’t in the mood for filming but was forced too by the camera crew talks about how rude some of them was to her. Also says Matt was paid off to keep quiet about Maria’s visa, apparently channel 4 made it so Maria’s visa would be approved, they also paid for the wedding, Matt says he shouldn’t of been of the show as him and Maria already met once before the filming but was made to act like they never met before was all for money. All seems odd, saw she only arrived in the UK June 2024. Also says Veena is unhappy with show as they’ve made her out to be some kind of predator but says their relationship isn’t like that. Channel 4 was asking a lot of questions. Umm all so weird.
