I never understand why they choose dishes that require a pressure cooker. It's almost always a disaster.

I think dessert may be short straw as she is doing the same as in other rounds just with local ingredients. We didn’t see local desserts which is a shame. Things like bao.

Looks pretty, but squid ink rice pudding.

I thought congee was quite soupy, looks like black risotto.
Have only seen congee at buffets so might not have seen the real thing.

Dessert needs red beans or sweetcorn to be authentic. Can be a bit of a shock when you think you’ve picked a pineapple ice lolly and it turns out to be sweetcorn! 😂

Serving the pud in those spheres raised expectations which were not met although it looked and seemed to taste good!

Maybe as I've missed a lot of this series and so not feeling invested. But feel like such a lovely trip, with such a lovey chef and amazing ingredients was wasted on this group.
