So martin freemen is back as crisis ridden police officer Chris Carson

S2 is set 6mths after s1

Chris is trying to rebuild his life by being a better father and survive the corruption that sucked him in s1

Still desperate to escape nights he agrees to do his old boss a favour which ends up dragging him into a murky case involving drug dealer franny

I work nights so that's I'm about daytime for mini blondes

I take /collect her to school - around for all school things and pick her up if ill

His daughter is older so he could sleep daytime etx

But maybe it's the shifts the ex doesn't like / plus the risk of dying ?

Assume has to work weekends so not about to see daughter

I would say policing a city at night is way more difficult than policing it during the day @Janiie

I think he wants out of the night job because of the stress it causes him. Maybe he comes into contact with more of the types that keep leading him to mess up, and wants a quiet office job to keep himself out of trouble?

Yes true. It's maybe a desk job he's after to get off the streets which of course would be 9 to 5 as opposed to a day job purely for the hours.

I'm not sure what age he's supposed to be in it looks 50s though, I reckon early retirement would be his best bet. Wouldn't make for a very interesting drama though .

Franny and £15k which was given in £20k drugs bjr wtf did Chris not take the £5k change. Asks for 570 instead and eveN gives change back

Debs isn't going to give him A day job and not sure doing something to 2 old ladies with give Chris his day job

You do feel for him. He just wants to be able to escape all the Shit but gets more caught up in it

I said to DH that I would have had a nervous breakdown by now if I was Chris. How does he keep up with it all?

I don't think Franny is cast well as a drug dealer he just doesn't seem menacing enough. Though maybe because I keep thinking of him as wet Brett in Happy Valley.

Just get a 20 quid dress from eBay! honestly we've all been there be it Communion, prom or party dresses just get it online! I know he wants what's best for his dd we all do but he is just a walking disaster incapable of solving the most simple of issues let alone the more complex.

Would the mother of an 8wk old really be given a custodial sentence for a minor offence? Ive no idea about these things, maybe it is the norm.

Also if TownCentre Casey could get the drugs from the dock why didn't they just do that in the first place.

Criticisms aside I did quite like it, the level of chaos and stress is palpable and the music quite good.

Cast couldn't get though due to the man at the gate but as Chris was a copper he went through via looking for the paperwork

The £570 was to replace what he took from his Dad's I think ? Wonder why he didn't take the whole £5,000 offered . It can't've been his conscience as he doesn't exactly do much by the book anyway !

That's his boss I think and she is being blackmailed by a drug dealer /who may be the dad of her child

Yes they'd surely want a loose cannon like him off the streets and sat behind a desk 9 til 5 where someone could keep an eye on him. Then get him bumped off for early retirement.

She got in though, wasn't with Chris and he didn't know so wasn't as if they were a diversion. Casey should've just used the same route out.

There are some very funny moments- clever writing, but God it's depressing.

If I R.E.M. Her hubby got killed and was Chris's friend so he feels guilty over that

She knows the bf is an abuser as she suffered dv with him. A bit of a weird way to try and protect someone a quick phone call would surely be better. Though she seems to be suffering from ptsd and won't be thinking straight.
