I have just finished and felt that it was all very boring and each challenge was basically the same just face painting with GCSE art 'mood boards'.
It all just gets a bit boring oh wow a rainbow face with horns 🥴
Surly those looks are a niche part of the MUA sector and largely popular on social media but never needed for actual paid work, whereas actually being an MUA is much broader and about day to day makeup for marketing, weddings , tv touch ups, fashion etc.
I am sure many contestants have better skills in standard makeup and they lose out, I think it needs to be more realistic and broad, like doing an IRL bridal makeup and taking the clients satisfaction in the results into account.
Also the end format totally doesn't work and the fact Jess got so far despite every look being considerably sub par is testament to that.
It should just be judged on their challenges the face off nonsense could just be for all of them like the way the pottery challenge has that extra little bit that doesn't really contribute to the end outcome but just demonstrates skill.
I thought it was very funny when Connor announced he was gay and everyone cheered then other people joined in, wow you are joking gay people in the makeup and beauty industry you say - ground breaking 💅🏼
