It was on iPlayer for ages

Not that I can find now sadly.

bryceQ · 22/04/2024 19:11

Its probably on youtube

YukNo · 23/04/2024 00:34

Finley comes across as someone who is trying desperately to be interesting but is actually as dull as ditchwater.

eish · 23/04/2024 08:07

I agree about the people always having major stories behind their art which takes away from the craft. This is why I like master chef as it has not reached that point yet, they just have to be amazing at cooking. Lots have stories about their family / culture teaching them and some have been travelling but that’s mostly the most interesting their stories get!

Cocolapew · 24/04/2024 20:19

Seriously 45 minutes just to do eyes 😂

Argh this is such a hate watch for me. I started off just being irritated by the judges (dingdong bollox) and now I can't tolerate the contestants with their self absorption and pronouns and journeys.

Muat catch up on the trainer brief, sounds exceptionally annoying. Ding Dong!!

HellonHeels · 24/04/2024 20:31

Oh and that single-name photographer bloke, he annoyed the hell out of me in one series. Anyone know if he's coming back this time?

EineReiseDurchDieZeit · 24/04/2024 20:36

Rankin. He's usual on once a series. Watching now, Rossi shouldn't have said he did a bad job.

Cocolapew · 24/04/2024 20:37

Rossis queen wasn't very encouraging.

OP posts:
EineReiseDurchDieZeit · 24/04/2024 21:02

What on earth was Rossi thinking with that?!

bryceQ · 24/04/2024 21:40

I think it's that everyone now has to be
"representing people who are xxx or have xxx" - you can never just be someone who loves make up and wants to do a job involving it.

On masterchef everyone is just a passionate home cook.... It's not about their entire identity even when they are bringing a new food to the audience. It feels different somehow.

Testina · 27/04/2024 23:57

Catching up on iPlayer and agree with so many of your comments!
I have a teenager who is really creative and amazing with make up.
She watches with me and rolls her eyes at all the “stories”.
She says these shows give Gen Z a bad name 🤣

Testina · 28/04/2024 00:00

We both rolled our eyes at Finley saying about their “creative” “feminine” side. We’re both female so of course we’d like to claim all the cool stuff for our gender. But no Finley, creativity is not a female / feminine thing, it’s crosses any gender you care to name. And just maybe you’d find gender less of a constraint (as you claimed) if you stopped talking stereotypes and frankly nonsense?

OrlandointheWilderness · 22/04/2024 10:57

Ohh who was that?

It was the year Sophie Baverstock won. Cate Hall was the MUA. She was lovely. Said Sophie was brilliant but did struggle with her autism when working on set so that probably wasn’t the environment for her to work in as it is so busy.

NashvilleQueen · 28/04/2024 09:02

Have watched the first two so far and agree with a lot of the comments.

It's all too 'sassy'. Why does everyone talk like that? The presenter (who is unquestionably astonishingly beautiful) is the worst with her elongating every name she introduces. It makes me feel incredibly old.

They do seem a bit more rubbish as a cohort than previous years. The white block with the squiggly lines was very poorly done in my view (in the past Dom would have been critical of that 'line work') but for some reason they loved it.

I'll stick with it because but it's nowhere near as good as it was.

AsphaltBeach · 30/04/2024 14:16

I love how they all gasp and whoop when someone they've clearly never heard of is announced.

"Here's Harry Flashman, theatre director"
gasp whoooooo wow

Edited

I roll my eyes every time Finley says that Finley knows Finley comes across as masculine, but . . .

🙄

Totally agree with PP about the comments around feminine creative side and gender constraints. This program is really highlighting the way society is f-ing up these kids now adays. Everyone has to be pigeonholed into a specific type eg Finlay saying it’s his feminine side that’s creative. No Finlay it’s YOU that’s creative not your masculine or feminine side it’s just YOU. Kids (aka this age group compared to me a grumpy middle aged mum) don’t seem to let themselves just BE themselves as much as all the protesting about being “true to yourself” that goes on.

Sorry back to the show - agree the standard isn’t there as much. I’m not being shocked or wowed by the looks. Some this past two weeks have been quite basic eg the glue idea was fun and creative but where was the underlying makeup as well? The white is becoming boring too. Still I'll be tuning in later regardless

I have a lovely friend who's taught high school for many years. She tells me she's seen a shift in the kids. Ten years ago there would be a group of Emo type teens that were cool to be in with, but now thats kind of gone, the Emo's have been replaced by the trans kids because thats the cool 'different' , in thing to be.

I wish we could go back to my schooldays, where the cool kids were the ones with a 13-colour biro and the courage to turn up the waistband of their skirt so that the hem was 2 inches above the knee (girls) and have really big knots in their ties (boys). How edgy we thought we were. 😄

Wtf was that face off challenge? Why would you want eyebrows like that?

BitofRain · 02/05/2024 11:28

I think Jess should go she clearly is wasting her time.

Callmejudith · 02/05/2024 20:21

I can’t stand Jess, such a moaning minny and thinks she’s amazing
