I want Louis to win. He's as annoying as heck but he's also the only one with anything about them.

If I had the time, I’d like to go through this thread and identify all the ageism.
There’s a comment here somewhere about how wrinkly Fern is that I think went unchallenged. That seems to be viewed as acceptable behaviour.
Imagine if it was a comment about how black someone is! Understandably there would be uproar and it would be challenged.

I am not sure, I don't like shouty, argumentative people and also she uses the word 'like' a lot. I wouldn't feel comfortable with her.

@honeyrider i don’t think Fern has ever been on loose women. Maybe as a guest but then so has just about every celebrity.

Tbf they can probably see the camera turning towards them as they go about their business, probably catches their eye.

I meant the Loose Women who have won in the past had a large following, you only have to look at Colleen Nolan who was horrible on the show yet had the big day time tv followers who voted for her. Likewise Fern has a big day time tv even if she hasn't been hosting in a long time plus they've had the middle-aged and older women vote for them.

@honeyrider I liked Colleen - she was a deserving winner during her series (although can't remember who she was on with).

Julie Goodyear was horrible to Coleen that year - she was lucky to survive 😬

Oh that's right - i loved JG but she was horrid, so went right off her after that!

I like Fern but feel like she is being too self conscious because of the cameras perhaps and not really listening to people. I also find it sad that she split up with her husband at the same time or after losing her parents. I think that is when she would have needed the extra support from him. I think a lot of marriages fail because of this it’s not the partners fault particularly but the situation. I know mine nearly did but I was aware of my depression.

This is a bloody good point, actually.

I'm always interested in my 79 year old mother's views and perspectives, and my teen daughters thoughts and opinions. I listen to both, and I try not to dismiss either. I do find that some people say others are ageist against them, but forget that it works both ways.

Nikita hasn't done anything wrong other than consistantly vote for her, that was his right and maybe that is because they are different ages, I don't think there was any malice on his part, only a lack of connection through age, it's to be expected, unfortunately there arn't enough older contestants for Fern to bond with, and the ones that were older were from completely different backgrounds.

Fern reminds me of some bygone headmistress watching out for naughty children to reprimand.
