Does anyone else think part of why people weren’t taking her seriously initially is the heavy makeup and accent? It’s just something I’m conscious of - I’m 26 and just try and be as plain as possible at work including makeup!

Whereas I think she’s specifically appealing to a certain demographic, she’s trying to portray a certain social media lifestyle. again, a wannabe influencer, but hasn’t done enough to cross-cut the corporate world just yet. I checked her companies house. In August 2022, her business had £130 in capital. I’m not sure if she managed to really launch things since then, but even then is that enough time and experience of success to jump on the apprentice?

whoever vetted her and put her on the show has a lot to answer to! I guess the bar to entry is lower than we thought.

Heavy make up is par for the course for female apprentices, but I agree her accent might have played a part.

I liked Tre anyway but liked that in the cafe he wouldn't get into an argument with Noor, he comes across as very level headed and a genuinely nice person

WhyDoIFancyGeneHunt · 23/03/2024 11:13

This is Tré!

suburburban · 23/03/2024 13:41

I wonder if Noor had some sort of communication difficulties. She really couldn't see any other perspective

wubwubwub · 23/03/2024 14:38

Noor is hardly the youngest person in the shows history.... they've had many 19yos on there before who did well enough. A 21yo made it through to interviews. Susan Ma was 21 and is now incredibly successful.

Youth isn't an excuse for her lack of awareness/abilities etc.

Sandytoxic · 23/03/2024 15:37

I luffs Tre! What's his business plan, I wonder?

theconfidenceofwho · 23/03/2024 15:43

I know - wish we got sight of all their business plans early doors.

Sumthingsweet · 23/03/2024 18:47

I just did not like when Noor pointed at her head like duh “Trey don’t you remember the vision !?” He handled it like a true gent and all of them treated her with respect . Even though they knew she was way out of her depth .

the80sweregreat · 23/03/2024 18:49

I do wonder what Tre's business plan is !

oh and jackets worn off our shoulders like we’re too hot

OsloCyclingCake · 23/03/2024 19:01

Why do the leavers always wear a scarf in the cab yet it’s filmed in the summer??

The walk to the cab pulling the empty suitcase is filmed first. I remember reading that years ago.

Sumthingsweet · 24/03/2024 21:03

Maura Trey and Flo in final

oh and the other blonde lady who Karen was impressed with

TitsInAbsentia · 24/03/2024 21:11

I'm sure I read somewhere Tre's business plan was to do with fitness but when I tried googling to find all the plans I didn't find them!

Because it's all filmed in one go. The coat and scarf disguise the fact that the candidate is wearing something totally different from what they were wearing in the boardroom ostensibly a minute earlier.

Acatdance · 22/03/2024 06:39

The only reason Noor was still in was because she'd been on the winning team in every task bar the penultimate one; and in the penultimate one the blame was fully laid on the sub team that she hadn't been part of. I feel a bit sorry for her.

I wondered whether she would be going that week, because she was so totally not in evidence. I thought SurAlun might go for one of his "You've done fuck all" firings. The team captain missed a trick there in not bringing her into the final three.

Possibly she was saved by not being part of the original decision to go with the boat tour - she only moved over to Supream when they were part way through their planning - and it must have been awkward for her. And there was nothing 'wrong' about the tour in that task, all guests enjoyed it, no refunds and no bad decisions in the way it was organised (unlike the other team although they got away with it). They lost because they didn't make enough selling the tickets, so it would have been hard to justify firing someone who wasn't involved in sales.

I don’t understand this because you can see their legs as they walk out
also they sometimes refer to the challenge in the car?

That's filmed later, all in the same place, a car taking to airport/train station/hotel wherever.

The walk away is filmed in a different location. Like a business park somewhere.

Not even sure why they bother tbh, especially now as they record them in the taxi saying stuff like "I'll be back!"

LaMarschallin · 25/03/2024 11:50

Just been catching up on this thread.
Like a lot of PPs I'd been feeling sorry for Noor, felt her ideas were brushed off and she was shut down very quickly.
Now I see it was probably clever editing:

Noor makes a suggestion
<cut & splice>
It gets shot down or ignored
<c&s>
Shot of Noor looking downcast and downtrodden.

Presumably, during those discussions, she'd always been acting as she did in the last task, but those bits weren't shown. So, she looked like poor, put upon Noor.
Amazed that she said "It's good, isn't it?" about that awful advert to SA seeming to think she could push him into agreeing with her.
I haven't been watching as long as many people, but I don't remember anyone being fired before three people were chosen to come back to the boardroom.
I appreciate it probably has happened, but must be pretty rare.

I wasn't surprised at all that she didn't go on You've Been Fired. I don't think she could cope with the slightest bit of teasing.
And, really, what could the BBC do if she refused? Sue her for breach of contract? Not a good look.
It would also be very easy to get off going on, for example via mental health grounds. She goes to a GP, says appearing on YBF would be damaging for her MH and GP writes a (factually correct) letter saying "This patient has told me that appearing on this show would impact badly on her MH".

I just don't think she's bright enough to see that if you go on, take the flak and be a good sport (even if you're livid inside) people can turn their opinions around.
Whereas, I'm not sure anyone - having seen her on TA - would want to try to work with her now.

Sorry! V long post Blush
But DH isn't very interested so it's nice to find somewhere to bang on about it.

Acatdance · 25/03/2024 12:06

Yes - I stopped watching YF when Tom Allen took over because it seemed to become The Tom Allen Show, but I remember quite a few unpopular contestants in past series really turned it round with a 'sporting' YF performance.

clary · 25/03/2024 12:22

Yes agree (also not a Tom A fan) a good YF can make a difference. This series - I thought Virdi came across well (tho it was a bit icky) and also Jack seemed very relaxed and pleasant.

Glittertwins · 25/03/2024 13:04

I've given up on YF as Tom Allen seems to be under the impression it's all about him.
